  1. Yet another brilliant and varied selection of anthology entries, it goes to show that there are a lot of imaginative and talented authors on GA. Thank you to all of the authors for for sharing their talent and hard work. The bad news is that this is the last week of new anthology entries 😪. But on the other hand, there are still loads of other great stories to read. So it's time for me to get back to reading them and doing my share of writing, I've got a story to finish.
  2. A delightfully satirical story that I loved, I'm sure you will too. There should be a laughter warning as you may burst out short fits of laughter. 😂

    Chapter 1

Satire at its best, I loved it and had a good laugh, thank you.
  4. This is a wonderful story of past dreams held from a loving relationship that no longer is, those dreams become the plans for renovating an old house. This isn't just rebuilding a house, it's rebuilding a life with a future and new relationship. This is an uplifting read and very nicely written.

    The Purple Door

I can't argue or say it better, except to add, thank you for a story that is filled with loving memories and a future full of hope and love.
  6. A sad tale of two men meeting and sharing their grief, somehow in the sadness they make a connection. Is there a possible future, maybe soulmates? Read it then tell me what you think, I know it left me wanting more.

  7. I started reading thinking this going to be a nice pleasant story, but then I had tears in my eyes as the story went dark, I wanted to stop reading but couldn't. As the story progressed it was sad but also became a little lighter as Paul and Woodrow conversed. By the end of the story I was holding back tears of joy as two men found a connection in their grief and who knows maybe something more, could it be love, a possible future together? You told this story of two men coming together in their grief and finding hope, it's beautiful and very well written, thank you.
  8. This is a different take on mystery, one that I've never come across before. The backdrop is a mixture of celebration and grief, the plot is a nicely interwoven puzzling mystery. Well written and intriguing.

    Chapter 1

I like the way you interweave celebration, grief and mystery to draw us in. Well written, thank you.

    Chapter 20

It's not quite finished yet, there are more surprises in the chapter, don't waste time get back to reading, lol. 😂

    Chapter 19

Sorry about the short one, as I said at the start of the chapter it was mainly a recap and springboard for the future.

    Chapter 18

Well, Manny and The Major consider Ian and Kevin family, isn't that what family do, look after one another? Ian and Kevin have worked hard, they deserve a good future.

    Chapter 17

I'm happy that you enjoyed this chapter, I think Max and Stacy are happy too, not many gay couples have been accepted as foster parents and this is something that dreamed of. Like writing the good chapters.

    Chapter 16

Yes, good things can, and sometimes do happen to the good people that deserve them. I think things will really pick up for The Major now he is back in touch with Marty. The Major's back-story can be read in Lost Soul - The Ox, it helps to understand a little what he has been through in the past.

    Chapter 15

I'm sure that many will share your feelings about Bill. But on a brighter note, I'm happy for Beccy and Jim, I think his romantic gesture of breakfast in bed and a proposal went well.

    Chapter 14

Life throws the occasional 'curve ball', sometimes good, sometimes bad. I don't think anyone will be mourning Bill or his friend, while I cannot condone this form of summary justice I'm not surprised by it, it's 'just desserts' as some would say. I hope The Major can keep level headed, finding out what he has is enough to go to anyones head and do some silly things, the money is for his future and well being.

    The Perfect Car

I've lived most of my life in Manchester but I was born in Birmingham, not far from The Lickey Hills. We moved back to Birmingham in my early teens before returning to Manchester, living near and going for walks in the hills was the best part of living there, with those memories and stories that my father told of when he grew up in Birmingham gave me the perfect backdrop for this story. I'm happy that you enjoyed the story and that it brought back some good memories for you.

    Chapter 1

The morning after is an interesting way to start, now I want to know where this going to lead.

    Chapter 13

Thanks to that passerby and the prompt actions of a young police officer a young man was saved the indignity of any further harm and possible sexual assault. Bill and his accomplice are where they belong, in the hands of the police, I think we can rest assured that they will get what they deserve. The Major has been found so let's keep our fingers crossed 🤞that things will work out. Things are looking up for Beccy and Jim, sharing their news may look like gloating but in The Boot it's good news and this type of good news helps give hope to others. Danny may not be happy about JJ going into a child psychiatric unit but it's what JJ needs to help him deal with his traumatic past, hopefully this will help him in the long run.

    Chapter 12

Mr P is now in police custody so I think he will be dealt with appropriately, but it takes time. We all have misunderstandings at times, we just have learn to deal with them, The Major's misunderstanding and over reaction is the worst, let's hope the boys find him quickly.

    Chapter 11

Yes amidst the hurt and anguish there are some good things happening. I think The Major is happy with Christian's letter and what he has done. Danny is still unpin but the adrenaline is keeping it at bay, let's hope for good things for him and JJ. As for Bill it looks like he's got away.
  22. Mancunian

    Chapter 10

Bill is a sleeze-bag, hopefully he gets what's coming to him. Jason/JJ's future is undetermined just yet, we will have to wait and see, but one good thing for him is he will get to see Danny. The lads are happy, now The Major is home with them it feels more like home.

    Chapter 9

Yes unfortunately Danny has been the victim of bullies, but the silver lining is that he realises just how much he Kate and Steve do care, this is a turning point in their relationship. The major finally has a a home, not just somewhere to sleep, like Danny he accepts how much others do care.

    Chapter 8

Thank you @Albert1434 it's good to read your comments. For me my father lives on in my heart and my memories, he was a good man and missed by many. Helping those in need, especially children and teenagers, was one of his passions, he gave of his time and helped to support a few charities that that he felt were worthwhile. This was something he shared with his family, teaching us by example and we continue to do what we can as we believe it is the right thing to do and, in part, honour his memory. This chapter shows how fast somethings can develop, I promise that in chapters where it it is needed there is more detail of the events taking place. I hope you continue to enjoy.

    Chapter 7

Thanks again @Albert1434 for the comments. Jason loves to tinker and often has success, but not all of the time. I'm more concerned about Ian erecting tents in the bedroom, lol.
