I don't have any gold double eagles, but I do have a few different gold and silver coins put away for a rainy day, I add to them from time to time it's nice to have a buffer should I need it. All precious metals have a value and it surprises me how many people I have come across who have thrown away broken jewellery and odd earrings. Once I sent a customer home to retrieve the broken jewellery she had thrown away, I ended up paying her over £300 for it. I've melted Scrap gold and silver to make new jewellery a few times, it's cheaper than buying it from the bullion dealers.

In addition to that any double eagle regardless of condition, even totally battered, will always have a minimum value of its bullion value (its gold weight) which will vary dependent on the current bullion price on the day.

I've watched it a number of times, it's one of my favourites. I watch a lot of the old Westerns on TV, watching them brings back a lot of childhood memories. My Dad used to watch them and tell us how as a child he and his brother sat with their Dad, my Grandad, and watch them. I guess it's the nostalgia trip and happy memories that we enjoy. 😃

Wow, a great chapter starting slow and building the tension up to the gunfight. It's good to see Jubal get at least some of his gold back and shame that he had to kill before getting it back. Even though the bushwhackers deserved it I understand Jubal and Lucas' discomfort at killing someone. Unfortunately, at times that was the way back then, kill or be killed. But if you are going to live the life they did it is going to happen one day. It looks like Jubal is going to stick to his agreement with Lucas, I like that it says a lot for the man. I hope the Sherrif doesn't give them any hassle about the shooting and takes steps to capture the other man, if he can be caught Jubal may get back more of his gold and maybe they will recover more stolen property that can be restored to its rightful owners. I'm looking forward to the next chapter already, thanks again Gary for an enjoyable read.

Respect is something that we all try to show to others, and hope that others will treat us with respect. There is nothing wrong with that and it is something that we are taught from an early age One way in which we show respect is how we treat others, i.e. opening doors for those older than us or giving up our seat on a crowded bus for an elderly person or someone who has a physical disability. If you were taught this and practice it great, you are doing the right thing, thank you. Another way in which we show respect is how we address someone when we are talking to or about them and this has changed a lot of terminology that some of us were brought up with. We are now encouraged to use the term police officer in place of policeman as we do have female police officers, similarly with the term fire-fighter instead of fireman, we no longer have actors and actresses, they are all actors regardless of their gender. The changes in these forms of address are intended to be more respectful and inclusive and are widely accepted. In more recent years he/she and him/her have been extended to he/she/they and him/her/them to reflect an individual's gender identity. This is something that has been asked for, and in some cases demanded and fought for by people who consider themselves gender fluid or gender neutral. Most of us accept this as every individual has the right to be addressed in a way that feels appropriate to us as individuals and our gender identity and the use of the correct pronoun is an extension of how we show, and give respect. This all sounds fine and good and you may be wondering why I raise this in a blog. You are probably questioning and asking, what's your point? It's a good and fair question and brings me to the point of this blog. I volunteer and work with a marginalised group, no I'm not here to blow my own trumpet, I'm here to speak up for them. We all come across them from time to time and sometimes daily, who are they? They are Homeless People, often referred to as The Homeless, please note how I refer to Homeless People. I ask that we all think about this use of terminology as one is seen as derogatory and the other is not. What difference does it make? If you are a Homeless Person it can make a huge difference, I'll explain this from the point of view of a Homeless Person. If you can imagine yourself as being homeless while reading this. The Homeless - A disrespectful term - Are generally seen as hopeless lazy people who do not want to work and beg for money. Generally seen as lower than an animal as some eat food scraps from other leftover food often found in bins. Generally seen as thieves and dishonest, they will steal from decent folk without regret or remorse. Generally seen as drug addicts who will steal to feed a habit and will hurt you if they feel a need to. Generally seen as unworthy of respect they can be ridiculed and mistreated. Generally seen as having no rights. [This is what I was told by a Homeless Man. It reminds me of how we treated other sections of society in the past, and to some degree still do, and it is seen as unacceptable.] (I will accept that some people are homeless through choice but they are a minority. When I think about the question of honesty I also think about how many people are in prison for various forms of dishonesty, most of them are from the so-called decent section of society and were not homeless, they are simply greedy.) Homeless People/Person - A respectful term - Accepts that a Homeless Person is human and has feelings. Accepts that there are many different reasons for a person being homeless, it is not always avoidable due to individual circumstances. Accepts that a Homeless Person is worthy of respect and support. Accepts that a Homeless Person has rights. Accepts that a Homeless Person can be, and maybe, as decent, honest and trustworthy as the rest of society, they may just need the opportunity to prove this as Homeless People are always having to prove themselves when others are not. Accepts that not all Homeless People are alcoholics or drug addicts. [Again this is what I was told by a Homeless Man and I know he could have added more. He just wants to be seen as a person and treated with respect.] I ask that in future we stop using the following terms - The Homeless, One of The Homeless. Please use the following terms instead - Homeless People, Homeless Person. The Homeless =Disrespectful Homeless People/Person = Respectful

It's been a mixed weekend, but I feel that I've achieved a lot dealing with things that I've put off for a long time. I work from home a lot and I'm now closer to having an office set up in the spare room so I can keep work more separate from my personal life. Now I'm thinking I need a new pc that is specifically for work. How are things down under? Have you been watching the women's football?

A very nicely written poem that reminds us how important our dreams are, if you need a reminder of your dreams, or even if you don't, read on and drift down memory lane remembering your dreams.

What a beautiful poem that shows the importance of our dreams, it doesn't matter if you have one or many dreams they carry an importance. They lift us and give us hope for that 'one day' when a dream may come true. I do what I can working for homeless people, in a voluntary capacity, and too often I come across people who no longer have dreams. Their dreams have been taken from them, not necessarily by other people, sometimes it is circumstances beyond their control. One of the first things I try to do is help them rediscover their dreams, if I can succeed in that then I have helped them rediscover life. Life is nothing without dreams. Our dreams are important, thank you for reminding us.

Beautifully personal poems of courage, adventurism and openness that led the author to discovery and happiness. They are inspirational, read on and be inspired, I dare you.

Courage and adventurism, openness and discovery, and finally encouragement for others. Those are some of what I see and have taken from your very personal poems, thank you for sharing them, I know I will come back and read them again. I know that by acting on your courage and adventurism you discovered the openness of a new life and met the man you love dearly, I wish you well my friend and many more years of happiness. And thank you for the encouragement in your Haiku. I hope that more of us can find the courage to discover our happiness too.

It looks like Diego is being given the run-around by the lawyers, he will be doing the right thing by talking to Steve's friend. Then he can get better help in dealing with Calvin and the school district. It appears as though Kenny is getting support from his fellow students, so I hope that goes well and helps his case. And, who has made a report to CPS? Kenny must feel like his world is caving in on him, hopefully, that will be resolved in a good way for Kenny's sake.

I've already got that on my reading list, but as you say Terry too long for me to read at the moment. My reading list is growing with recommended stories, but I need to finish writing first.
-
If you are both reading this story it sounds like a good recommendation to me, I've added it to my reading list for when I have a bit more time.

I'm feeling a bit emotional but in a good way. I'm good thanks and looking forward to a productive day

Aloha Albert, I hope you and Steve are having a good Sunday

Proper gravy does not contain milk of any description, it contains stock made from the meat it accompanies.
-
It could be guess the author by their taste in gravy, lol
-
And then there is my favourite, Guinness gravy. The flavour of the Guinness takes it to another level.
-
I nearly forgot, there is lamb and mint gravy too.
-
Onion gravy, turkey gravy, chicken and stuffing gravy, and beef and red onion gravy. You don't need to be stuck with just one gravy, you have a choice, lol.
