Yes, I picked up on this immediately too. The change in dynamic is obvious - Tag is the one being strong and reassuring now instead of the other way around. Ash is the one who is afraid and vulnerable. And I would be too if I found out my future husband (?) was a multi-millionaire! LOL (By the way, wouldn't that be wonderful?) Great chapter - had me on the edge of my seat, and the really important paragraphs I had to read slowly, and twice, to get the full impact. Well written - I could see that all playing out on a big movie screen somewhere in my mind.

Just found this cute and sweet story. Short enough to read in one sitting, but long enough to have some real development. Great story. I just wish I had found someone to love when I was - crumbs, only 13? I do have someone now but it took decades of searching to find him. But wishes do come true in the end. Thanks for this story. Great read. Loved it.

Ah, now the real story begins! Everything up to now has been just the introduction, setting the scene and getting us ready for the "big reveal." Love it.

Great story. Highly recommended since this is one of the best MM romance I have ever read. I am reading from Australia, so I appreciate the Australian references, local slang and obvious Australian cultural allusions. Had to read the last 8 chapters in one sitting - one of those books where you "have" to find out what happened. Just wish it had been this easy coming out (and kissing public!) when I was at school! LOL

Great follow up! At first I thought Patrick was going to be a home-wrecker, but love wins out after all. Well written as usual. The photographs Galen gave Josh sounded just perfect.

I enjoyed the story overall, although there were some difficult spots. Every story has to have some drama and the author has posted appropriate warnings, which should be noted. However, I think the story would have benefited from toning down some of the more graphic details. The story was realistic with all the ups and downs of romance, although (spoiler alert) it is pretty clear from the start that the two main characters will end up together. Interesting setting, which was new to me, and reinforces the need for communication and unconditional love. The story has a nice rounded conclusion at the end. I appreciated the editing - good grammar, good spelling and good punctuation and the story flows smoothly. I understand there is a follow-up story to this, which I must read next. I have given it four stars, but I really wanted to give it four and a half stars.

I have waited until the last chapter to add any comment, since at the time I am reading it, the story is already complete. Not sure that I liked Josh, even towards the end. I think I got off side with him almost from the start and never really warmed up to him. However, I enjoyed the story eventually, and the HEA ending. The story was, for the most part, realistic (which I prefer) and reasonably romantic, especially at the end. Just wished they could have had more happiness together earlier in the story. I appreciated the editing - good grammar, good spelling and good punctuation (I used to be a magazine proof-reader before I retired so that kind of thing really matters to me), and it was easy to let the story flow smoothly. Good story, although the story would not have suffered if we had been spared the blood and trauma, but I understand every story has to have some drama. The story has a nice rounded conclusion at the end. I understand there is a follow-up story to this, which I must read next. Thank you Val.

Great short story! Well written, no typos or grammatical errors (that I could detect - and I used to be a proof reader) and a smooth, coherent, well-crafted story. Well done. Although I was half expecting (or even more than half) some kind of twist at the end, the climax when it came was sweet and emotional that had me tearing up! Love it.

I finished reading Never Walk Alone a week or so ago, and started reading Walk On almost immediately. I have not commented before, waiting until what is (currently) the last chapter before I write anything. I am most impressed with the style of writing - very few spelling errors (unlike some authors I follow) and only the occasional grammatical slip up. I only notice these because I was a magazine editor for 15 years, and then a technical writer for another 9 years, and so I did a LOT of proof reading. As someone above has pointed out, I appreciate that a same-sex relationship (marriage in this case) is normalised, and that the idea of two men having children is accepted as being perfectly natural and unquestioned. Oh, if only the real world was like this! I also enjoy reading how the other half of the world lives - the tiny fraction that can afford luxury yachts and charter private aircraft! I also enjoy the descriptions of locations and tourist attractions - I have never been to South Africa and enjoy reading about the exotic locations. Now I am waiting, like everyone else here, to read the next chapter(s). Thank you Andre for an excellent ongoing story (you could call it a saga). If you don't mind asking (I realise this is personal) how much of this is autobiographical? You certainly seem to be very familiar with bringing up children!

I have just finished reading this quite long story. I found the story interesting, mostly because it was set in South Africa. I frequently looked up the locations on Google Maps to see where we were going with the story, and sometimes even looked at street view images of the locations to get a feel for the area. I enjoyed the romantic story, and the occasional dramatic moments. Mostly the story unfolds with no drama and very little plot. There were no annoying "cliff hangers" but a pleasing flow of unfolding events. I was interested to see how the other half of the world (the rich half that owns luxury yachts and runs five-star resorts) lives and had to suspend belief a few times when extended and luxurious meals (and there were many of them) appeared with seemingly little effort. (I am not a foodie, so I tended to skim the lengthy menus). I enjoyed reading the story and will now commence the sequel.

Great story with all the happy endings anyone could wish for. Well written and kept my interest right to the end.

Thank you for this book - I have now read both Part 1 and Part 2 of this series. I enjoyed both of them - I especially appreciated the good English grammar and correct spelling. I prefer to read books that are already finished rather than wait for weeks (months?) for the next chapter to drop. This is one reason I selected these two books. I have now read them both virtually in one sitting - well, one sitting for each book. I felt that the last part of this story was a bit rushed, but then I guess everything that could be said had been said by this time, so I was satisfied. Everything wrapped up nicely. I'm one of those who wondered where this book was going after reading chapter 1. I wasn't sure I wanted to continue. But I am glad I persisted. The story is improving as it goes along. Glad Donald found a boyfriend--Connor sounds like the best kind of boyfriend to have.

Marry? or Matty? Finally worked out it was really Matty, but that was an interesting typo - did he really mean "marry"? But they have already said they want to wait (until college is finished, presumably). And as a married man myself, I am all for "marry". LOL

Good story with highs and lows in the plot. Well written, usually with good English grammar and spelling (which is important to me). The story of two 17-year-old high school jocks (who turn 18 in their senior year) who fall in love - and have a lot of sex! While I generally enjoyed the story, I did feel that the long sex scenes did slow down the plot a bit and I skimmed through them in order to get back to the story. The last couple of chapters had a lot of happy endings (can two people have that many "feel good" endings?) and a surprise tragedy that did seem a bit contrived - which is why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. Otherwise, a very enjoyable read and one of the better M/M romance books on Gay Authors. I am now going to start Book 2. Highly recommended.

After I saw the title of this chapter, I too started reading with dread. I thought it might be Jay getting between Seamus and Matt, but was so relieved that it was only Aidan. Although in my book, I would see Aidan as actually loving both of the men in his life and being the one to bring them even closer together, forever. I see kids these days taking same-sex couples/marriages completely for granted. (I have nephews and nieces who take my husband and I together as perfectly "normal", whatever normal means). Yes, Jay and Loe would be a good pairing too, and I am not surprised by the suggestion by other commentators. The more love there is in the world, the better, I think. Where does Kase find love? Isn't he gay also? Nice if we could find love for him too. And Hilary is straight? Can't we find a boyfriend for her? Can never have enough boys in your life! LOL

What a great wrap up (almost). Now to see the villains face their own kind of torment. I particularly appreciated learning a bit more about Chicago. I live in Australia and have never been there. I looked up the various locations (Buckingham Fountain, Cloud Gate) on Wikipedia and enjoyed reading about the sights and seeing the pictures. Thank you for a great chapter.

Great chapter, great action, great characters. I just wish real life was as perfect as this (sigh) but I guess that is why we are all here to read these stories. Escapism is what keeps us reading good fiction, and this chapter was up there with the best of m/m romance.

Love the suspense, the drive into the city, the drama, and especially the last line of this chapter. Great. Now we have to wait for what happened next! It better be good (LOL - I know it will!)

Glad they talked - communication is the key to a successful relationship. But I have a bad feeling about Mike - he sure has plenty of motivation to skim off some funds.

I have just read all 32 chapters (so far) virtually in one sitting - it has taken me all day. And I am hooked by this story! Well and truly engrossed. After reading non-stop for hours, I now have to wait - impatiently - for days (weeks?) to find out what happens next. I am pretty sure though that Rick and Gus will have a HEA ending. I am looking forward to an invite to the wedding, along with most of the town of Eagle Lake. (I looked up Eagle Lake, Wisconsin, on Google Maps and was gratified to find that there is a real place by that name, although the geography doesn't quite line up with the book).

Great chapter as always. It always seems to be wet and/or raining at Camp Refuge. I presume the sun does shine some days? Maybe in the next chapter as things wrap up.
