I'm going to weigh in with open minded - sexually fluid. I think it has allot to do with stimuli. In Eric's case constant stimuli. Sorta along the lines of variety being the spice of life. Sure it starts out as liking different women, branches into liking two different women. Eric seems to me a thrill seeker. Part of his "taste" for threesomes or moresomes is the feat de acompli, the reaction he receives. He is after all the middle kid. However, as this event becomes a regular pattern, the attention he receives for it will dwindle and tapper off. Therefore,"Experimenting" with the same sex, I think is only a natural progression for him as he looks for a sense of thrill, the attention, with his encounters. Though I may be over analyzing his psyche a tad It works though, he's a thrill seeker, a prankster and above everything else vying for his slice of the attention pie.

Let The Music Play- Ch.34 When Worlds Collide
shadowgod replied to wildone's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
SPiCE has a lot to say about that comment actually. We take offense to this notion of feeding... Eric drank the spirit of his own free will. It's not as if Cody strapped him down pried open his mouth and poured it down his gullet. Trust me, had Eric been tied down it would have been a completely different chapter. All Cody did was facilitate the spirit's acquisition. SPiCE also has grave concerns about the end of this chapter. Eric is left alone in a closet with Helen, who has had made a stunning accusation. Yet, we have no further clarification on the issue. Clarification that has been suspiciously absent for the last several chapters. Therefore, we must regrettably declare Let the Music Play, Chapter 34, a cliffhanger. Furthermore, Mr. wildone, if future references to the Cody / Eric incident, please refer to the disclaimer at the bottom of DnCW 5 Thank You. SPiCE -
Life happens, when you're not looking. Allot of people, i think, fail to realize that. There is an expectation that one day we will wake up and Life is going to start. We'll have the career, the love, vacations in Spain etc. The only trouble is, in this yearning, this waiting for something big to happen; we overlook life. The fragments in time that shape our existence. Sometimes I have a nagging feeling that time is running away. I don't know what it is, or where it comes from, yet I still feel like I am staring down the barrel of a loaded gun. Me and Time have issues. I guess i could trace it back to my wanting to join the world early. It seems that was the last time I ever accomplished anything early, ever since its been late. I am now officially fed up with late, and sadly it seems the time for that is gone. I shouldn't have any right to bitch and moan. All in all, I have a okay life. I even have almost everything I could hope for, almost. It's just the pieces that are missing, their absence makes everything else seem hollow; unsubstantial. I am tired of the hollow. Sometimes, I wish I could write my life. I'd know where to go with all the self doubt. I'd know who was lurking just at the end of the next chapter. In the end I'd know it had all been worth it. Maybe this all steams from grappling with a stark reality. We are all told we are destined for greatness, when the only thing we are destined for is monotony. Day after day of the same routine, the same issues, and the same resolutions all blurring until one can no longer discern Monday from Friday, or the hours in between. I don't know where I'm going with this. Well I do; it hasn't helped much, just wasted more time. Steve

I know I saw pardon my misdirect. Though Eric + tequlia has great possibilities... The goat has just been approaching the problem from the wrong angle. I am sure I can think of more constructive things for Eric to do under the influence

Let the Music Play, Chapter 33: Full Circle
shadowgod replied to BeaStKid's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
aww thanks tiger 24 hours till we see what this world collide business is about. I know mine, but CJ has me worried :usnure: The goat is after all devious. he tends to lull us into a false sense of security. It only begs the question, what worlds in Let the Megalomaniac Play could possibly collide? -
my my my, So instead of posing the question "Has the genre gone stale" perhaps we should pose the question "Has fiction gone stale" Lets face it guys, there is no story being told now, that at some point has not been told before. All romance is is the same old Romeo and Juliet thing over and over again. Maybe there is no poison, maybe the live happily ever after ala Disney. That makes nothing here original by any stretch of the word. Sure there are different ways to tell a story through its delivery. Just a few weeks ago, for example, I ran across a mystery in a books store that told its story through a myriad of letters, adverts, and scribbled notes; all stuffed inside the pages of the book. Yeah such an attempt is great at first, because it is new and different. Such an approach is, at best, a gimmick. While I enjoy a mystery as much as the next person part of the thrill is to see if I can pick up on the clues in the text, and lets face it with all those loose pieces of paper, something of importance is bound to be lost somewhere along the lines. Then there is the issue of the whole high school subset. Truthfully, a social psychologist will be able to explain this better then I could even begin to, but perhaps it has more to do with some of us reconciling issues in or own history, or a lack of that history in the first place. Discovery, seems to be an overriding theme; discovery of feelings, discovery of love. While doable at a more advanced age, it is ultimately alien as people usually discovery things in adolescence. Another reason the H.S. and college bracket seem popular. Professionals are interesting, but at some point their lives become more about their profession and less about themselves; not to mention the emotional baggage they pull into new relationship and the quandry of sorting all that craziness out. Anyhow, long rambling point being: There is nothing said anymore that even hints at the original, every story has been told. Just every story has not been told by you. Give the story your voice, don't rely on gimmicks, because a gimmick is just that. Steve

shadowgod replied to BeaStKid's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
The injustice CJ!! First, you have jerry planting two bombs on the west coast, and now you have stolen my chapter title!!! Where is an unbiased admin when you need one? -
You're right benji, Perhaps the Goat's web would have been better. I can't believe someone is only in this for the chapters! Come on where is your sense of community!
-
Now Now Benji... I never said anything about keeping Eric away from Tequila
-
So for a breif moment we stood out today. Up there with the Domaholics. We were the petting zoo. that is gone now. :'( So simple question which Forum name do you like better?

Let the Music Play, Chapter 33: Full Circle
shadowgod replied to BeaStKid's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
umm... wouldn't it be more along the lines of ... "We're sorry, your detonation can not be completed as dialed. If you feel you have reached this recording in error, please hang up and try your detonation again. If you feel that someone has usurped your attempt at world domination, please hang up and kill the unfortunate individual standing to your right..." note to the editor, make sure Eric is always to Jerry's left. Worse yet, Could you imagine the mass panic in the LA metro area if the Gov got wind of the devices and how they are triggered. Easy way out, disable the cell system. Drawback- rioting -
but but but.... Ive never had a character intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle. if the AAFC does decide that way I'd have to appeal and state my case! besides, it may not come to that. SPiCE and the CLF are in the middle of some negotiations. I will keep you apprised of any developments.
-
well... perhaps I should petition the society of fiction characters for Custody of Eric. I could make him happy... eventually
-
HEY!!! this is a SPiCE thread! not a SPUJ (pronounced spooge)(Society for the Promotion of Un-cruelty towards Jerry) Thread!!!! Knock and go somewhere else!!! Don't make me break out the cattle prod....
-
Wow Steve, you're a thread kill man.... Other then that, interesting theory; especially in concerns with the coupe d'etat of the foreign government. I wonder how much of Jerry's plans will pan out, or if he will be caught before hand. suddenly I have a very unsettling feeling everytime Jerry is in the vicinity of the band.
-
First off CJ I think i can answer for everyone when I say that the pain (or was it pleasure?) has been all ours. To be quite honest with each new story you pound out, I have a hard time nailing down a over-all favorite. So hey a big thanks to you for the endless hours of frustration and reading pleasure you provide Now for this bit of silliness... Well if that isn't a loaded question then i do not know what is, so in all interest of fairness and not misleading your poor readers ( you cause enough emotional turmoil as it is), I am going to have to abstain from answering the question as it stands. If they want the real answer they can feel free to PM me and I will of course give them all the filthy details (yes I do still have that pdf file ) The truth of the matter, I think, may just surprise them
-
To be completely honest, I never even made the connection with Jerry in that scene, I guess I just took for granted it would have been Eric. Now that you point the wording out, well i could see how it could be read in another fashion, yet, I dunno, the story-line just didn't feel "tense", to me, at the moment.
-
i dunno, a history of dealing in arms, and now he has Nuclear devices? Doesn't sound much like an ex-arms dealer to me. Perhaps he is planning on selling them to the highest bidder, (Iran anyone?) and retiring to his own little country with the proceeds. can't fault the guy for wanting to be the best at his chosen profession, however whack it is.

Beh, I'm screwing my stories up again, mixing up real life with web based fiction however, with the absence of their biological Parents, Helen is serving as a surrogate mother to the boys. the proof was in the end of 19
-
Ahh yes, when the boys father was their manager, thanks for helping prove my point Gary . However, Helen still retained Jerry after the misfortune with Joe came to light. Okay, She seems to be a bad judge of character, but I'm sure we have all been in the same boat as well. ( the bad judge of character boat, not the retain a national arms dealer boat.)
-
What role does she have in moving the bands equipment? Thats easy shes hires the company that does so. As for knowingly giving money to Jerry for his evil plot... Well that was a ridiculous statement. She was giving money to help Jerry's Kids ( Jerry Lewis should be outraged, probably is and calling us all sorts of colorful names while he thinks the camera is off ) Therefore, she did not knowingly give Jerry money to aide in his evil plot. Yeah she is a manager, so thats 1 strike. She can be pushy and forceful, that isn't her fault, she is, after all, a woman. Is that her only trespass? My Point exactly mike. She could give a care less about where they are in thirty years. She could only care about what she can reap from the harvest before it runs out. She is obviously thinking further down the road then just her own gain. She is highly commendable in that regard. In fact i think she does a damn good job of managing the bad. What was her harshest restriction, making sure that bars knew not to serve tequila to Eric in advance? Geesh cry me a river, she could be like another character who just took the money and gave it to someone else. Beyond that what? wanting them to make sure Gunter was with them whenever they were running around the city? hardly any of these qualify her as the name you guys keep putting a strike-through across. Honestly, if I were in Instincts shoes, I'd WANT Helen looking after my interests.
-
I don't care how successful Instinct is, fact remains this is their sophomore album. To put it bluntly, they are not that successful. You forget Instinct gets their share after the record company, after promoters, and after venues. They are simply small fries in the fast food kitchen that is Jerry's revenue stream. Was Gabe involved in funneling money? Maybe, but why would Jerry extend the risk for such a small reward? Jerry doesn't need the band for money, Jerry needs the band to smuggle the devices. nothing more. As for the inside man, he had Joe, If Helen was his "inside guy" why would she wash away Joe and replace him with an unknown roadie? That would imply a grudge against Joe, and possibly upset the status-que. I believe what the story has presented so far, Instinct is just the unwitting currier. Gabe and the skimming was just an incidental that was not connected.
-
Exactly. That is not typical management behavior. What does a manager care how much money their charge spends? As long as the money keeps rolling and they still receive thirty percent they could care less. Helen at least displays the forethought to keep the guys financially stable, even after the fickle entertainment industry is done with them.
