I love all the positive comments and I don't even in the slightest disagree with any of them.Having said that leave it to me put a dark lining to a silver cloud(I don't even know if thats a saying😄) I get the distinct Impression that Giaco and Emilia didn't reconnect with Marco because they wanted to they did so more for the sake of Dani .Giaco in particular looks like he still has his doubts at least Emilia acknowledges they've been stupid. Since you said in a chapter comment that they are still in a future story I can't wait .You've been saying you always think this is the last story. Considering you're never sure it makes you're already great stories that much more amazing.

I think it was more than that. Travlbug came close to what I'm about to say I think Giaco realized that if or when he decides he really wants Dani in a more intimate way he may not be available. One more thing in the mix to add to his confusion. This is so brilliantly done. I literally just though of this so my theory maybe flawed as hell .Does Gianni have dual citizenship? If he does couldn't they go to England and with Helen's help(I think that was her name my bad if I don't remember right ) adopt Sami in England?The ban in Italy would not apply to a couple who legally adopted in another country would it?

That is by far the best course of action for Dani to take. Here is something I can see happening in a few years. Giaco has a legitimate attraction to girls say he meet another girl that he fancies. Things would be different this time this girl would live in town as opposed to leaving by the end of summer and this girl might be smart enough to realize that Giaco and Dani will need their "friend time". So what happens then? Does anybody see any parallels between this and what happened with Toto/Michele? There are some differences of course but there are more similarities. I can see Michele having a talk with Giaco about the conflicted same-sex feelings Giaco may have for Dani.

What is it about the boys of Ravello that screws up relationships😄 I only thought this could happen because Angelo mentioned the possibility of Marco being into Dani but I wish it didn't happen poor Marco (yeah he won me over) I say this in 20/20 hindsight but when Dani said “I’m sorry, Marco,” he said awkwardly. “I can’t do this. Not yet.” When Marco asked if it was because of Giaco Dani could have answered "I can't do this with Giaco either" It would not have even been a lie in a way. @travlbug thinks Dani might not be able to fix this I think he can .But if he can't nobody can One thing that had he puzzled why was Marco uncomfortable with Dani having his shirt off? When a nice looking friend of mine had his shirt off I never complained.I was wondering if it was an Italian culture thing but then my next though was perhaps Marco was struggling from not staring at Dani. I got really good at looking while pretending I wasn't looking.Well at least no one punched me)

I wonder if you two saw the movie Blazing Saddles there is a scene where that are planning a welcome ceremony where they they say 'The citizens of Rockridge would like to present you with a Laurel (hands over the laurel)and hardy handshake. There is one very difficult thing while reading these chapter comments and that is seeing Mawgrim's comments . I really miss him. Marco really needed a friend and you can't do any better then Dani. I see one possible downside . IF!!! and only if Angelo's observation from a previous chapter is right then I can see Marco doing what Emilia did in an unexpected moment and Dani not being ready for it much to Marco's disappointment . I might be bringing up something that won't happen but it's in the back of my mind

I'm surprised nobody made this possible future scene.Gianni and Angelo ends up fostering Sami because of what he has done with Sami Marco gets to visit Sami. It is here that Gianni sees Marco's pokemon drawing and then instant connection

Of course Marco will be upset to hear what happened to Sami but unless Marco is dense he attitude toward Dani should improve he was beginning to thaw out toward Dani anyway.The fact that Dani saved Sami and his friend Toto nearly dies in an attempt to save Sami should only help Marco realize that what happened here was no fault of Dani If Angelo is right about Marco falling for Dani then Marco will realize that they no longer have Sami connecting them anymore.Dani will again make overtures about being friends and this time I see Marco while trying to downplay it accepting because he will see this as a last chance to have any kind of connection with Dani.

I too would like to echo what @Summerabbacat and @raven1 said about the scene with Gianni and Dani. The letter Gianni mom said was especially touching two words to me that had a lot of impact IMHO "Love Franchesca ". You can also see that the one-on one time Gianni spent with Dani outside the group of friends showed Gianni that Dani can be trusted with something personal. Marco must have a incredible amount of patience to be able to achieve what he has been able to with Sami I wonder if that foreshadows something he might do in the future. While Marco deep down is a good soul his moodiness can be off putting. Was he that moody with Giaco and Emilia and I'm wondering if thats a contributing reason why both of them don't seem to anxious to reconnect with Marco

Gianni did the eulogy perfect. I think initially Dani didn't think the "date" was a big deal but after Giaco very thoughtfully said to Dani "Just don’t hurt her, okay?” the usually insightful Dani should have then thought about that and then try the clear the air with Emilia about what she expects on this "date".Since Emilia had no idea about Dani I'm guessing she didn't know Marco's feeling about Giaco either.. All this talk about somebody forgetting about their friends when they have a GF reminded of a time. While Giaco said "This is new to me" said he didn't want to hurt Laura's feelings I had a friend who was an adult (sort of at least legally) who did did the same thing with me and other friends I knew the score so I rolled with it. Then all of a sudden for like a week straight I was getting phone calls daily and he was coming over a lot .Finally he tells" Evette and I broke up" And I said "Yeah I know" and he said "How could you know I haven't told anybody yet" and I said "Because you've been here the last week If you two didn't break up you wouldn't be". I know him well enough to know that he wanted to say something in the worst way but for once I had him toung-tied😄

I will say this in Giaco defense this is new territory for him and he may not realize how it looks to Dani although Giaco was oblivious to Marco before. I was hoping I was wrong but I figured Sami would be found alone and that it would be Dani to find him(didn't see the Marco part though) Up to this point there has been little to like about Marco but as we saw Marco has a lot of compassion and that is definitely something Dani can work with. The point I was trying so hard to NOT to say in my chapter two comment @ColumbusGuy has pretty much said. and that is Gianni and Angelo taking gaurdianship of Sami.What I pictured was after Dani finds Sami he will go eventually go to Gianni and ask for help could still happen that way but just as easily another way also. Enzo, tipped him a surly wave. How exactly do you do a surly wave....never mind don't answer that

Your story synopsis hinted that this was going to happen and the timing makes sense.Marina didn't get a chance to right all her mistakes but did as good as one can expect.She said she wanted to feel useful well she certainly was she was flawed like all of us but a very good and loving person. You're mean you actually had to have Dani witness the kiss but it is good for the story though. Interesting that Patrizia knew what was up when she said that comment in the last chapter I interpreted as her thinking Giaco might be a trouble maker (In a way maybe he is). I think Giaco has legitimate affection for Dani only time will tell whether he will ever have THAT kind of affection for Dani. I don't rule out either. While Gianni and Dani always liked each other (they are impossible not to like) it had been a different kind of friendship because they met through Toto.The turn of events in this chapter looks like they are getting closer almost bonding maybe. I think you have reason for this. It is way.way .way to early to guess what I'm thinking (It is based on something I commented on last chapter) Since you wrote you this you might know what I'm thinking I'll withhold it for now I don't want to unintentionally do a spoiler for a future reader of this story (besides with my track record there is just as good of chance I'm wrong)

Being so late to the party all these smart readers have covered the thoughts I have as it Pertains to Dani and Giaco and now the appearance of Laura. What has been mentioned less is the refugee family.Trying to read between the lines of what was said after the family thanked them and fled after Claudia said "illegals" my next thought was oh crap the Aunt and Uncle will be found by authorities but at the last second they managed hide the boy Sami.And if that's the case guess who is going to find him.If I'm right this could be very interesting

You keep topping yourself. Some random observations with no order or cohesion just typing what I'm thinking We never did find out Leggero did. In this chapter Ettore reminded me of the character Fredo in The Godfather and the stuff about getting respect was that part of your thinking? A sign Enzo is maturing he didn't call Toto fairy boy once in this story. Had I been reading this story as it was posted I would have been bummed for Marco but you wrote in the Chap 10 comments that Marco's story isn't over so I'm looking forward to that whenever it comes. I'm guessing Giaco will forgive Marco but it may take Dani influence I literally live 5 miles away from the Mexican border and growing up I had some close Mexican friends and in some cases got to know their kids while they were growing up and for some reason I see similarities between your characters and my friends and their kids can't really say why. Well after a little break on to your next story Thank you sir

When Dani earlier in the story told Toto and Michele about the conversation he overheard with Ettore and Leggero did he tell them EVERY detail he heard?Tell you why I ask that way I went back and looked at the conversation between Ettore and Leggero and I was reminded what Leggero said about if a child gets hurt.Well Antonio clearly hurt Giaco and was intending to do more . I wonder if Toto and Michele remember that detail IF they were told about it (Hey I forgot about it until I looked again) They can go to Leggero and say they are hurting and threatening Giaco and they can even prove it .Leggero would then come. Perhaps that's too easy though huh😄 After Giaco asked Dani if he liked him and Dani said "A bit" Unlike Angelo and Michele Giaco didn't freak out. I bet part of the reason for that was Giaco has met Gianni/Angelo and Toto/Michele and has told Dani they are cool.

This is why as Assunta said in a previous chapter why Ettore is so lame (although she used different words) If you're going to have a protection racket you want people working for you who are intimidating so that people will believe they need protection from them .But Antonio is a flat out wuss as shown in this chapter and Fillipo isn't much better heck Michele stared him down hardly protection racket material here. After this latest failure if Ettore was at all competent he should drop those two like a bad habit but I bet throughout his life he was just as lame as the two he has working for him.

A perfect blending of Dani current friend and his new ones. Toto and Michele being replaced in a town that small? Can't happen .Let's just say shared instead of replaced. The only sad part? Marco could have been part of this but then whatever our author has planned wouldn't happen most likely
