The use of whooping is intended. It's a very common word in this area of the United States (i.e.: The amount of times my babysitter said she would whoop my ass when I was little is disturbing.)

I’ve got a lot of foodies in my circle now, but I grew up eating lots of junk food and meals from a box, which inspires Silver’s unpretentious love of food. As for cooking resources, I love Serious Eats (Kenji fan forever!), Binging with Babish, America’s Test Kitchen, and NY Times Cooking. I first learned to cook from Food Network stars of the 90s like Rachel Ray, Alton Brown, and Sandra Lee. Someone mentioned in the comment section that you’ve written other stories featuring some of these characters. Are you planning on posting them here as well? As a bisexual I’m pretty omnivorous and enjoy writing different variations of queer romance. I did publish Mal and Daniella’s story on another site. While Mal is definitely on the bi+ spectrum, his relationship with Daniella is the centerpiece of that story while his relationships with men aren’t explored deeply. Plus the tone of that story is… very… BDSM Beauty and the Beast. I don’t think it’s the right fit for this site and audience, but you’re welcome to Google my name and it should come up…. potentially on private browsing…. I am considering writing a third story in this world focused on Nephrite, which in my daydreams will be a lesbian revenge/noir. Do you have any tips for writers who want to try their hand at writing fantasy? The world of this story literally came from me having stagnated on a more “serious” project and feeling cooped up due to the pandemic. I wrote this to give myself an escape into a world I would want to live in, and pulled in fantasy elements that appealed to me. If you’re newer to writing fantasy, you can always start small. Change one aspect of the world you write in, in one impossible way. Starting with more real-world based fantasy allows you to focus on just one magical aspect without needing to build a whole history, culture, currency, foods, etc. I would also say read a wide range of fantasy books, of course! • • • • • Food? I love New Years! It's a special time in our household as Noah also gets to celebrate his birthday! Love my New Years baby, but this house gets fairly inebriated. Hope y'all have a great time, but stay safe and drink water between drinks!

I had to research this newfangled technology. My literal response: If we're talkin' brands, I've been a loyal Pair of Thieves customer for years. There's a few different fabrics in several essential styles, but their SuperFit fabric is phenomenal. I could work a very physical eight-hour shift and drive home feeling like a flower. It's like air-conditioned undies! They are a wee bit pricey, but I can't see myself defecting to a different brand.

I firmly believe that every happy, gushy chapter must lead to a serious or uncomfortable one. Both needed this release somethin' fierce! I can't wait for the incoming in-person conversation between Garjah and Corvi (had to go back and confirm the name). I wonder if Corvi's the kind of father to give threatening speeches to his son's boyfriends...

This poll made me cackle! The slot on most men's underwear truly confuses me. I've never used this feature, even to test it for efficiency. Seems like such an arduous process for a simple task. I think a few more options for question one are in order, particularly for those brave commandos in our community. Go ahead and stick all of the options on there! See who's courageous!

Reboots/remakes terrify me. I'm not considering certain ones, such as anything superhero-related, as the comics will almost always provide new content for filmmakers to work with. Raised on old shows (Alan Alda's Hawkeye and the 4077th were practically my babysitters growing up), I cringe when hearing of a new reboot/remake. A generational plateau has been reached in regards to content creation, and as Krista mentioned, I'm sure there's an unspoken rule in Hollywood where certain shows are off-limits to reboots, but I fear that rule will be broken within my lifetime. All I know is they better... better get the new Golden Girls right whenever that'll happen. In fact, I'm assuming any show found on the MeTV channel is deemed off-limits. But who knows? I'm sure Jane Lynch could portray Dorothy Zbornak in ten or fifteen years...
