Natasha's threats thus far have been weak and easily proved to be unsubstantiated, this speaks to either her arrogance or stupidity, or both. The new office with the psych office and good cafe is sure the same that Is visited in What Brings Us Together. I look forward to more of Nathan. -

I've had this problem with other stories about people who have experienced long-term bullying or abuse, have left the abusive home behind, but still accept the abuse without complaint. I understand the situation intellectually, but cannot comprehend it emotionally. I wouldn't ever let anyone treat me the way his family does. At some point James has to decide if he is worthy of love and respect. Right now he is debasing himself by allowing his family to humiliate him. He is not the same person that just turned around a huge construction project. -
Screw that bitch! And her no good son Sam! And the mean spirited old homophobe laying in the hospital!

George is spectacularly skilled at 3 things: running a ship, navigating politics, and enticing attractive men into his bed. I have no doubts there will be challenges ahead of him, but he will succeed in all 3!

I'm mostly fearful of Sam holding temporary courage in his pocket. Considering his persistent confidence issues, the temptation will be there.

I find myself unusually interested in the process and outcome of James' work challenge! Oh, I'm still interested in Evan and his newfound responsibility and attentiveness, but I really am enjoying James' professional prowess. His organization skills are showing.

Not dissimilar to the oxy problem a few years ago in small town America. Graeme is continually showing his care and respect for Sam. I wonder if Sam will ever feel worthy?

I like the growing friendship between Mark and Balder. I find the timeline a little troublesome. The Vikings were active over 1000 years ago, from now. I'm not sure when this is set (chapter 1 mentioned Mark is well into his second century), but I can only guess 300 to 400 years into our future. If his chrysalis has only been drifting for 500 years, what happened in the extra 1000 unaccounted for years? That's a huge discrepancy. Is the Unity wrong? Is Balder not telling them the truth?

As I think back over this saga, the parts I enjoy the most are not just George at sea, but George refitting, or capturing, or recovering a new ship. His knowledge and passion make him the best in any navy! I can't wait!

I'm conflicted because I love our characters, but I hate the cause. Colonialism is horrendous, whether it was 600 years ago or this morning. Whether for religious fervor or a money grab. I hate it. But I have faith that communication will win out. On these pages, not in real life, that still sucks.

I'm so happy for Ian! Oddly happy for a side character, but I hope he enjoys more social engagement than he has for his whole life. I really like the easy relationship between Louis and Charlie, they are finding their way without drama-laden tropes, like real people.

I'm so looking forward to Sam's and Graeme's future adventures! Sam handled his heart wrenching goodbyes to his parents and his mentor with amazing maturity. He even left his precious books behind. But now he will be living the life he used to read about. I don't think Sam was ever meant to be a farmer or a blacksmith.

The first part of this chapter held a quiet but intense tension. I have never personally experienced the emotions surrounding this level of unwanted touching. In my head I translated it into treading water. Just this side of panic, of loss of control. Liam battled the panic alone inside his head until he allowed Rick to take some control in their mostly non-verbal negotiations. Great writing! The second part, the procrastination, I have much more familiarity with!

This is a very close 3 way race for the queen of detestability! I think Caroline is still the most dangerous.
