I missed this in a deluge of notifications, but was so excited to see this! It's fantastic to get acquainted with our old friends, again.

Advice, both welcome & unwelcome
CincyKris commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Advice, both welcome & unwelcome
Hopefully the next time Thomas Englert barges in, Eileen will be visiting. That'll put him right! -
I wonder if Trinity de la Creme will be appearing with the Twisted Sisters? From Traditions: Pippa had discovered that our cousin, Patrick – a.k.a. Trinity de la Crème – would be performing at the Imperial Hotel

This is a great thriller that will keep you guessing throughout. Complex, but not convoluted storyline and amazing characters.

I think you captured Caleb's anger very well. He is, perhaps literally, a ticking time bomb. He is obviously aware of everything going on with Josh. It doesn't appear that Josh was aware before the crash. In a way, he was born that night. Caleb has to feel resentment that he did all the work for 17 years and has lost both his parents and his identity. For now he is protecting Josh, is he just waiting to take his life back and get revenge? Against Cerberus? Thanks for not making Walter the bad guy!

This was a fun chapter for all! So good to see Rory and Slav so happy. -
Chapter 22 - Time Goes On
CincyKris commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 22 - Time Goes On
Wow, it seems that Adam sometimes knows that Jamie is only in his head, but other times he truly thinks he is still alive. Sometimes, on my walks through campus or along the waterfront, he would be beside me, even when he had an exam coming up, or a deadline he had to meet. He never brought up seeing someone else again. No one ever mentioned Jamie’s name, not in texts from home or calls from family. They always asked how I was doing, how my exams were going, how life was holding up. But they never asked about Jamie. I asked Jamie, and he never answered my question. Instead he said that I should just focus on the things that I can control, and not worry about other things. -
I have no doubt that Cerberus will be watching Caleb/Josh all the time, everywhere. But, for now, Josh can move forward with his new family. I hope Caleb can find comfort with them, also.

Josh remembered a lot more than I thought he would. The fact that his "father" used a trigger word to immediately erase his short and long term memory, leaving his working memory intact, proves that Josh is a designed project. His AI has suddenly left him alone, even during the simulation. I find this very interesting! I still wonder at whether the impetus of the Chimera shutdown was to stop a bad guy or to stop Chimera. If Josh remembers the pass phrase, should he hand it over? Walter, we need to hear from Walter! And how the hell is the douche from the school connected, and according to Josh's AI, helpful?

I'm rereading the whole series and started with the chronologically first one. I'm reminded why I love it so much. D'gar and Herebeth are two of my all-time favorite characters. I can't recommend this enough. It doesn't matter whether your into dragons or sci-fi, this is just great writing and a wonderful story.

Great idea! Tony is turning his big house on the cliff into a sanctuary for boys like Casey.

I wonder why the Unity think that the chrysalis is a key to the beginning of humanity? At first, I was ambivalent towards the Unity because they experimented on humans, but then I thought about all the humans who have experimented on animals and on other humans! I like this start.

Chapter 21 - Setting Up
CincyKris commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 21 - Setting Up
As long as it isn't Keith! -
I'm afraid that mentioning Barrett by name to all the detectives, including Benevetti, will backfire on them. One would think that someone so homophobic would not help dirty cops sexually abusing under aged boys, but he seems to hate Rick so much that he might tip them off. If he does, he'll destroy his own career. I think that Rick's conversation with Casey was much needed and handled sensitively.

I greatly prefer to interpret the looks of book characters on my own. Especially here on GA, since twinky teens are not my thing at all. If it still fits with the story, my brain will make the characters look a little older and more masculine. Not a problem with your characters, though! Not a twink in sight!

I spent the hour before midnight on my couch spending a ridiculous amount of money on a new range, since my old oven died 2 days ago. I had to bake my already proofing bread on my grill! It's pork and sauerkraut here! Fortunately I gave a good airfryer and my stovetop still works. No snow, just very cold.

I have been somewhat ambivalent towards Carmella up till now. She's worlds better than Caroline and she provides excellent cover with the tonne, but she can be selfish and shortsighted. She loves to be the center of attention, and all of the readers know there is only room for one in the center, George earned that spot. Perhaps this incident will act as a "correction" and she will avoid going the way of Caroline. One of George's best qualities is his ability to weed through the emotions and plan ahead. This was a great example of that.

Oh dear, that just took a dark turn! I don't recall if either of our boys are blonde surfer types. But, back to this reality, the trip to Sydney with the cousins sounds like it will be fun. I look forward to the reunion with their uncle.

The Holiday: More exploring
CincyKris commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in The Holiday: More exploring
When I vacation with a group, I relish the smaller moments in between all the big family ones. The group are enjoying their smaller moments pairing up. I think this vacation might become reformative for Slav and Rory. Slav is gaining confidence he's never had before. Rory is looking at his and his friends behavior in the past and finding it wanting. Teenagers are generally dumb and self absorbed at times, I know I was! Part of growing up well is looking inward and changing for the better. Unfortunately many never do (his father for one), but Rory is on his way to being the kind of person his grandparents are.- 5 comments

Great news regarding Louis and Charlie! Aunt Daphne was even worse than the last time, I look forward to @Summerabbacat's description of her! -
Chapter 6 - Who Am I?
CincyKris commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 6 - Who Am I?
I just had to look at the title page to see if a "fantasy" tag got added yet! The coincidences are too coincidental to be coincidences. I think that Kevin decided to haunt Adrian rather than Liam, he was probably frustrated at Liam's reluctance to move forward. Great emotion in this chapter. -
When Coop was looking for the boys I was on pins and needles also! Just shows how much tension and anxiety our author has crafted, now that we're getting closer to closing this case.

Chapter 21 - Setting Up
CincyKris commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 21 - Setting Up
It's sad to see Adam fall into his disorder. We skipped to his second year, did he go home for Christmas and the summer? Is his family pushing him to keep communicating?
