Uh Oh! I hope Shane got away from whomever tried to snatch him? Dirty cop? Did someone "reassign" the protection to allow one of Jarvis' goons to get him? Maybe Rick's parents aren't dead and he was thrown out? But he must have been taken in by someone who put him through private school. Will he be able to find someone from his past to take the boys in?

George shows his talents in this chapter. He thinks ahead, looking at all sides, makes a decision and stands by it. When he runs into interference, he chooses the best person to help him and charms his way into success. Classic Granger.

We assumed that Rick's family is dead, but we don't know how they died. I doubt they were thought to have been murdered or we would heard about that in the scene in the office with Helen and the Inspector. But could their death have not been an accidental? How's that for wild speculation?!😲

@Summerabbacat, I couldn't agree more about Russ' transformation, I was thinking that throughout the chapter, from playing a sport he doesn't care about in the cold drizzle, to making actual friends who are not sexual partners or business associates, to inviting his previously estranged brother and his family to his hometown for a holiday. His trust in Drew and Evie to take in guests also shows his growth in making actual friends. This was such a positive chapter. -
Creek is a very confused young man! I'm confused about this fancy hospital room! I have never heard of a hospital room with a microwave and mini fridge! And Creek has showered twice now in someone else's hospital room, also not common. Speaking of not common, why is Dailan even still in the hospital for sprains and dislocations? Even broken bones (unless crushed legs) rarely get you admitted.

I had the same thought as @Summerabbacat regarding Rick's family being dead. Otherwise why would he place the family photo in which he was 12 years old in the same place as Martin's photo?

Encrypted is truly special, so as a reader, my hope is you only write what you're proud of. We'll wait, don't worry about us. As for this crazy satire, we have another juicy chapter. I can see Skylar's friends in my head, like characters from Mean Girls, Heathers, or Clueless. Ryan had no lines, but his brooding was it's own character! Mom made me laugh, the priest made me happy. A BIG conversation is coming up! -
Well, I think we know how Martin died now. And the killer has some connection to Rick's old school. Is he fixated on Rick? Is he following him? Where has he been for the last few years? We know that Rick went to a Catholic run school, but was probably middle or working class. His discomfort for Adam's wealth and lack of awareness of the street kids he met on his first day tell us he has never been either rich nor on the street. I don't think Helen was accusing him of murder, but she knows there is some sort of connection. I hope he opens up to Helen and to Adam.

I would say MacDonald Philpott is a very low bar! I think it's good for Russ and Con to recover some better memories. Anxiety tends to cause some people, me included, to block out memories that made them uncomfortable. Sometimes good ones and innocuous ones get lost in the process, too. -
I wonder if Martin was also stabbed to death?

This was an amazing, slow, painful transformation for Simon. The writing felt raw and truthful. I know it won’t always be easy for Simon and Elijah, but I think they will be successful together. They’ve already survived rock bottom, now they can enjoy some happiness. -
If anyone hasn't read Mickey yet, they should. This story is a prequel of it, and it's also a great story. You do get glimpses of Peter and Marty, and the I future family.

We get a glimpse into the life of another settled, happy, gay couple. And they are really not different than a settled, happy, straight couple. Regarding the weather, here in the US Midwest, we are getting our first dose of winter in a few days! But thankfully not that much snow, just cold. Our wind chill on Monday is predicted to be 25°F, which I believe is around -4°C. Definitely not @Summerabbacat approved! It's my day off, I plan on sitting on the couch under a blanket with a cat or two, catching up on GA! Maybe I'll cook some Irish stew! -
Marcus presented himself so well, I hope his father and Hosea heard him from the other room. I think that Elisha will need some serious therapy to retrain his brain.

Do you mean Marcus' father Julian? Hosea is Elisha's father, neither is Latino. Other than that, I agree completely. Minutes earlier Julian was berating his son, now he is defending him and rethinking his whole world view.

Fry is a hero, Marcus is a saviour, this afternoon has changed the lives of 7 people and one dog forever? It's obvious that Hosea loves his son, the question is whether he loves him enough to change his long held beliefs?

I'm just now catching up with the anthology, life just got in the way. I loved the relationship development with these young men. Each had already developed strong feelings over the last year, all it took was one to get the courage to speak up and the dam broke! In my head, grandpa found a good man and is still alive. I can't help but hope, like the rest of your fans, that we will cross paths with Link, Moss, and Grandpa in the future. But I'm excited at reading a new adventure from you!

I'm more convinced with each chapter that Elisha has decided this will be his last day on earth. I have faith in our author that Marcus and Joshua will intervene. I wonder if Liberty Academy allows pets? All the action and actors are gathering for the next tumultuous scene.

I agree that those other “cops” were not cops. It’s a good thing the kid didn’t say anything to them. I have a feeling that Alexis will not be found alive. And just what is going on at the motorpool?

Russ had an easy Christmas and Boxing Day and he has healed his relationship with his brother. He's gotten to know his sister in law and nephews. But he is missing home and his guys. I think this trip has helped Russ with perspective. His relationship with Brian, Gordon, and Toby have changed him and this time away has allowed him to realize that fully. -
I think that the names Emma and Kate were transposed a couple of times, I had to reread that passage also. And I kind of agree that 6 months is hardly "so long". But I like Creek and Marvin together. I'm glad that Marvin put the brakes on to slow down, six months (or even 8 or 9 months, depending on how much time has elapsed) is not a long time since losing the love of his life and becoming a single father. The short time is one of the reasons I have mixed feelings about his "smother". Why is she pushing so hard to pair him up with Kate, and apparently was doing so even before the beginning point in the story?

I despise Donna, it's terrible that someone like her is allowed to be in such an influential position to these vulnerable young people. I'm struck by how similar Liam's new situation is to his old one, just after the trial. I so wish he would reach out to Aiden or Mark and be a better advocate for himself, but he's just not there yet. Liam has overcome so much, but he had some caring and helpful people on his side. I hope he finds some new friends, although we know that a month after release he is still hasn't found a connection.
