    Marty and Peter keep getting stronger, their issues just make them closer. I loved Pop's story, it made me eager to hear their more complete story. So, I didn't really mind Jeff through the earlier chapters, he was minor comedic relief. But, he really jumped the shark in this chapter. He was annoying and didn't realize how uncomfortable he was making Peter.

    This was a very emotional chapter, and important to the storyline. A giant package of Tim Tams was at the Costco here in Ohio! Just regular milk chocolate so a no go for me. If they were dark chocolate, I would have considered it.

    It is wonderful to catch up with Joshua and Marcus again. I am very worried for Elisha, his decision sounds final! His father is scarily committed to his cause, blindly committed. And what of the mutt? Who is his boy?

    I was also a little confused by Dailan’s conversation. He is hinting hard that he is falling for Creek, but then saying he has never been attracted to a man. I can only guess that a close friend was in love him, and he couldn’t reciprocate the feelings. I think Kate is for sure crushing on Creek. So is Marvin, but I think Marvin is the only one with a chance. Could Creek be demisexual?

    Rick had an eventful first day. Hopefully he passed the test with the older cops at the bar. Looks like Jimmy might be a handful! We got confirmation that Martin was a former boyfriend. And finally, his relationship with Adam looks promising.

    The Ethan things makes me uneasy, Kris needs to tread lightly. Dean is battling his inner demons. He did something nice for Kris due to his buried feelings, then asked out a girl to counter it. All subconsciously, of course.

    The timing would be horrible, with mom being off her feet for a few days, but the only thing that will get Kris to finish and publish his game seems to be the loss of his job. Desperation can be an anxiety buster.

    This is going to be fun! Well, except for the future victims of what I assume will be a series of murders. I love Helen, I look forward to @Summerabbacat's descriptions of her! My favourite line: And quit grinning at them will you. Christ, you’re like a kid in a candy store. This ain’t a shopping expedition. You’re supposed to be a hardarsed Detective, or so I’ve been told.’

    Marvin is becoming much more direct, not that Creek is anymore aware of the flirting than before. I'm loving the story but there are a few little things that seem unusual. These characters seem to meet each other at midway points and then drive separately. Or, occasionally pick each other up, then drive them back to their cars. They both have cars, why all the extra driving? Also, Marvin bought 3 units and knocked down walls, but only has 2 bedrooms? How tiny are these condos? This is set in New Jersey, not in Manhattan, right?

    I understand Marvin's emotionally abused response to his ex, the thing I was most surprised about was that Kelvin allowed Marvin to marry Emma while they were still together. I agree with the smother mother! Emma was a little too bossy with Marvin's emotional response to his ex, also. Hopefully both guys can make each other stronger better than their pushy, but loving women.

    Ok, so that was a lot of new info! Marvin is gay (as we suspected), he has a toxic ex, and Dailan is definitely into Creek! Actually going to the hospital is a lot, then coming home with the family for dinner. I'm concerned that Dailan will be hurt if Creek turns toward Marvin, which seems more likely than him falling for a college student. One thing that I find really surprising is that Marvin married Emma while still in a relationship with Kelvin. They were together for almost 10 years, but still living separately? Kelvin dumped Marvin only a few months ago and Marvin accepted Kelvin's cheating? Strange relationship.

    We seem to have 3 straight guys here: Creek, Marvin (who has a wife who seems more like a best friend), and Dailan (who has a 'reputation' but has shown a lot of interest in Creek and Forest). Creek said he felt disconnected from his old friends, and certainly felt that way in his parent group. I think he is trying to find his own new connections after his trauma. Obviously his parents have been his rock, but mom is a little overbearing, especially regarding Kate. She says she wants Creek to make new friends, but how will she react if Creek starts pulling away from her with those new friends?

    I have to curb my enthusiasm for this chapter to get through this comment! I saw a lot of growth in Russ and Con's relationship, they are talking as equals for the first time in ages.

    I remember all the speculations we threw out! Our author must have been laughing when he read them. I think that Russ has changed a lot since his last visit to Ireland. He was not being his true self then, and that impression (just like our's) stuck with adult Con. I have a feeling that Con will rethink (perhaps is already rethinking) his opinion of his brother. It seems his dad did a job on his sons.

    Dude, chill. It's only been less than a week. I'm following authors that post 1 or 2 times a year. There are so many good authors here, none making a dime from these postings, you can find another great series to fill your time. If you want any recommendations, drop me a message.

    I enjoyed all of the daily obstacles and ministrations experienced by team Graham! I will say, as a 55 year old, that Matt needs to chill out a little, his mother is not elderly! And music is and has always been entirely subjective and cross-generational. While a crooner may not be my style, remember these women grew up in the 70's and 80's amongst disco, hard rock, new wave, hair metal, alternative, and many other styles. I look forward to Southwold.

    I’m coming around to @Summerabbacat’s theory as the only explanation that makes sense with the prologue. Little things like typing an address into the gps on the phone (instead of a gps device in the car) and the existence of an air fryer in the house do not support this being Jamie’s 15 year old memories. Smart phones and air fryers existed, but were not commonplace.
