It's good to see Jack & Nick were successful on their finals! Maybe they can have a chill summer. Also, I'm glad they cleared the air with Jonah and did it without blasting him to their friend group!

Damn, I'm not usually into bi stories, but with your exquisite writing and the hot-as-hell scenes in this tale so far, I'll make an exception. The start to this one is off the charts!- 23 comments

I thought Jack showed great maturity in how he handled Nick's confession. Jack's parents are the absolute worst! Miss Charice is an angel and I love how devoted and protective and proactive she is of her boys. Nick, Jack, & Jonah definitely need to be in individual therapy. The description of Nick's panic attack hit home for me - I had a bad one due to work stress and I wouldn't wish that on anyone - except Jack's parents. A powerful chapter - thank you!

Well, some advancement for Javin but they're still getting to know one another and it's kinda refreshing to see them be respectful of their surroundings but yet they're scared of getting caught too. I like where they're headed though. Their moment of exploration and bliss will come eventually. The coach seemed somewhat blindsided by hearing from Joel but I feel like he could've done more to figure out where he was and what was going on. Seems like the wheels are in motion for Joel to attend the new school. I still loathe Joel's mom and his spineless dad. I'm looking forward to Cody's visit to the ranch and what's next for Javin!

What a masterpiece of a story! This southern man appreciated the themes and characters and the descriptions and just the overall feelings. This is one of my favorite stories I've ever read. I'm grateful for you sharing your talent with us @CasualWanderer82 ❤️

I'm loving this quirky story more with each chapter! It's inventive and fresh and yet so satisfying!

What a memorable chapter! We got the silent treatment, the (temporary?) reconciliation, the arrival of Nana and her plan, the ever-observant Nick's mom sensing something was amiss with the boys, the hilarity of Mr. Bojangles bath situation, and the angst and worry of sweet Jack. While it seems troubling that Nana likes to add a little something to her coffee, she seems bound and determined to fight for Jack's independence from his "parents." My thought is I know his parents kept her away but where was her fight before? I'm convinced Nick's mom will get to see the pics of Jack's abuse after she wears him down about it. I love this story!

As a Kentuckian and baseball fan, I'm enjoying the story so far!

Ah, more developments for Joel. Now that his school decision has been made maybe he can start to figure out senior year and life after high school. I think Colt is warming up to Joel being around all the time and knew he wouldn't want to have to hang with the 'rents and Lacey and watch a G rated movie and maybe he's going to encourage Davin & Joel to make things official? Are they really going camping or is that the cover story? Celia seems even more protective of Joel now and he's warming up to her motherly ways even more now. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Daisy Bell is a saint and puts out so much love that the world could use a strong dose of to get itself right. What person would stand by yet another broken boy to help him and the one he helped torment? Good on her advising Jackson to take Cash on his quest to both thank Blake and formally end their relationship. Jackson, Cash, & Cassie's gift to Weston was one of love and friendship and was a beautiful gesture. What a great group of people to love and support one another.

Trace & Celia are the parents Joel deserved to have! That was such a sweet scene between them in the truck. Poor Joel just knew Celia would reject him but I knew she wouldn't. I'm sure POS Westley told Cody why their parents kicked Joel out and of course Cody doesn't care about that. He loves Joel unconditionally as Joel does him. I don't think Lisa will ever accept Joel and it's looking like he'll end up on the ranch. Another great chapter!

What an endearing chapter! I love baseball and always have so thanks for including that. I don't think I'll ever forget Jack's reference to the Twins as the "Twinks" 🤣though. Mom grabbing fast food tracks with her busy job and she's at least feeding them lol. It was nice of her to find Jack's Nana and hopefully that relationship can be reconnected and thrive. What an experience for Nick's Mom to finally get a taste of wild-child Jonah! She'll be exhausted if she drives all 4 boys back to school.

This might be my favorite chapter of this wonderful story so far! I'm glad Nick & Jack are communicating and their shower time sure was plentiful and cleansing 😇- they're taking cleanliness seriously. I love Nick's mom and how supportive and practical she is with just enough playful teasing and embarrassing overshares moms are known for. Nick certainly has some anxious moments but it's normal for any teen to have those at times but I'm glad to see Tommy being supportive and good for Jack for breaking the ice. My god though, the turkey leg moment was one of those memories that will linger on forever, in the best way. Seems Tommy might have had a crush on Nicky though, hmmm?

"The Dog He Fed (And The One He Starved)"
Modified Cub commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "The Dog He Fed (And The One He Starved)"
Wow what an amazing chapter! The consummation of Cash & Jackson's joining was epic in its tenderness and sincerity. I could sense the passion radiating through them! Colton's the POS we all thought he was, although, what he did was just as bad as what the sheriff and Cade did. I thought for sure it was him who tortured poor sweet Weston but he just laid the trap. I hope he gets what he deserves and good on Blake for likely making that happen! I thought it was mature of Blake to accept what he witnessed Cash/Jackson doing as the ultimate finale in his time with Jackson and I do hope he finds someone to love him, finally. I'm Team Cash/Jackson all the way! Can't wait to see what happens next! -
I kinda thought Colt would figure Joel out and I had a feeling Davin was gay. I hope Davin & Joel end up together or at least have someone to confide in. Joel's circle is figuring him out pretty quickly. I'm eager to see what he decides about school. It doesn't surprise me that Colt has no desire to take over the ranch. Looking forward to what happens next!

The support Nick has of his mom is awesome and is how all parents should be champions for their children no matter their orientation. Christian's allyship and leadership is commendable and shows what an outstanding human being he is. The headmaster/dean owned up to their failures as an institution, however, Mr. G shouldn't have lost his job. I can only hope Jack's parents don't pull him out but then they'd have to deal with him all the time. I'm thinking Nick's mom will somehow persuade Jack's parents to let him spend the summer at her home although they probably won't go for that. It is weird how Noah has faded in to the background. Powerful chapter!

Okay, you've hooked me in to the story. Way to go Noah! I'm enjoying Olly's growth.

Awe, the reunion happens at last!!! The way those boys reconnected was beautifully poetic. I'm glad Jackson finally called Blake out for the way he flinched and pulled away at the table. Colton made an ass of himself (which surprised no one) and as usual Daisy put everyone in their place. Count me in as a big fan of reading about the hot lovemaking to come! Another masterful chapter!

Damn, every time I think this story can't get any better, you surpass my expectations and then some! Daisy Bell is a saint with a heart of gold and seeing the difference she's making in Willow Creek is inspiring to say the least! The growth Cash has gone through, the adversity, the longing, has made him prepared to love Jackson even more and to be a fantastic partner to him. The development of Levi & Weston's relationship is so sweet and tender and it's great to see them lean on one another and grow. I can't wait to see what happens next. Another truly remarkable chapter!

Well, that was a chapter for the books! Maybe it's just me but although the scene with Blake & Evan was hot, it gutted me at the same time! Maybe I'm just naive but I thought the passion and intimacy Jackson & Blake shared was genuine but I guess it's run its course. I guess I'm just down about it. I can see the connection between Cash & Jackson as a life-long true love rooted in their past and that's an exciting path for them to explore. Sorry for rambling I'm just overly invested in the concept of monogamous love I guess? Fantastic writing!

Hot chapter! Love these guys!

Jonah's rambunctiousness finally caused a major blowup that I'm not sure the gang can battle against effectively. Some great points were made about the school's responsibilities but at the same time someone has to know this could literally be life-and-death for Jack. I'm glad Nick finally decided to ditch his teacher's pet/good boy status and stand up for him & Jack and all the other LGBTQ+ kids on campus. If we're at the top of the rollercoaster, I hope the ride down isn't fraught with major drama although realistically this is dramatic fiction, so we know it won't all be smooth sailing, especially as it mirrors real life to a degree.

Incredibly erotic! I'd definitely read a longer story!
