Neon (or fluorescent) colors are extremely bright versions of primary and secondary colors, such as blue, red, green, yellow, and purple. Fluorescent colors stand apart from other types of color due to the fact that they emit light, making them luminescent. Conventional/normal color can reflect only light in the visible range, in the case of Fluorescent Colors, it even converts absorbed UV light and reflects in the visible range, thereby color appear brighter than normal color. Under normal conditions, neon gas is colourless, but it has a bright red-orange glow (discharge) when electricity is applied. Every noble gas has its own characteristic discharge colour. Those of the others are: helium: orange-yellow.

It's true that Mac may have made the choice, but in the end they were two lonely boys pining for one another, so the buried their noses in books and got great grades, good enough for each of them to become Valedictorian of his graduating class.

Actually, other than Devin, Mac resisted having other friends, so they may not be as different as you believe.

Yes, we all hope that, or it's going to be a long summer for him since he'll be missing out on a lot of things.

I don't think Devin trying to rush things has anything to do with not wanting to be dependent on Mac. I think it's just that he can't stand being cooped up and unable to move around campus on his own. He is a pretty independent kind of guy.

Thanks, Danilo. I think we all know that Devin has some flaws, but he's loyal and generous to his friends and family. Even with those flaws, I wouldn't mind having him as a friend.

I believe that might be one reason Mac isn't calling in the cavalry, because he and Devin don't need to put up with Ma again. I also believe he thinks he can convince Devin to do what is right, so we'll give him a little longer to see how it goes.

At that point Devin's dad and Gramps weren't physically there. Devin's dad was physically there for part of the time, but he was using it to deal with Devin's mom and may not have had his head in the game. But I think they all trust Mac to convince Devin to do what is right and in the best interest of the family. You are correct, however, in that Devin's impatience and inexperience was making him vulnerable and putting him at risk.

They love each other, but they aren't afraid to speak up when they feel it's called for.

Yes, Devin has his moments, but like I said to someone else, he never had a chance to be a kid after they moved away. He was homeschooled and "trained" by his parents, and then he lived with his grandfather and current wife while he was in high school. It may have given him time to study and get academically smart, but he never really had a chance to mature either emotionally or psychologically during that time, so cut him some slack. 😜

It's more that just the names sounding better together. It's their personalities meshing together as well.

That might be because he never had a chance to really be a child after they moved away. Think about it! Growing ujp in the woods with your mother and father being your teachers through middle school and then living with his grandfather and his current wife while going to high school. It doesn't give him a lot of time to be a kid.

Yes, they're two wild and crazy guys, but Devin can't be quite as crazy from now on. At least until he gets all of that hardward out of his body. We'll see what happens and if he can pull that off as well.

Yes, Devin might have a problem transitioning into smaller animals with all that hardware in him, so it's unsure what will happen if they go back to the cave. Yes, Mac was reading the magazine, since Devin's family and his family are all at work and he doesn't feel like playing games or listening to music and he feels that reading old magazines is a better option. 🤪 😝 Everyone's dumping on poor Louella. She just likes to get to know people better, like how they'll react to her incessant nosiness and "better than thou" attitude.

Chapter 43 – A Sigh of Relief Things were pretty low-key until Devin’s next appointment. I drove him to the hospital early so the technicians could perform the MRI first, and then I took him to a diner for a hot chocolate and a slice of pie while we gave the doctor time to study the MRI. We still had to sit in the doctor’s waiting room for a while before we were eventually called into his office, and after we entered, I could tell Devin was extremely anxious, yet hopeful, as we sat down.
