    Yes, Terry, the transitions are getting easier for him, because practice makes perfect. There are a couple more chapters to go on the reservation, but the training doesn't end once they return to the cabin.

    I know how you feel, because I worry when someone comments on one of my earliest stories. I caught a few mistakes as I was reading it, but the story itself was strong, so it was easy to overlook those few mistakes. Good job.

    Chapter 33 – It’s a Small World In the morning, the shaman wanted me to transition into a rabbit next. The others all did it at the same time, but I didn’t have to watch them to know what to do. I’d hunted rabbits with Devin’s dad before, and I’d also seen them in the fields around my house, so I was quite familiar with their appearance and behavior. Once the shaman had evaluated my effort, he warned me that rabbits had to be aware of the same predators as the raccoons, as well as weasel

    If you're looking for a story about a young gay man finding love and romance, then give this story a read. It isn't all happiness and good times, but it will make you laugh and cry as you watch the interaction between Daniel and Alex.

    Thanks, @chris191070, and thanks for the review as well. It always amazes me how my short stories get reviews, but The Castaway Hotel doesn't have even one, and there are 13 books in all. lol

    I think that only the boy who recited that little spiel, because at least one of the others immediately reacted and didn't think it was a good idea that he'd done it. I believe they all learned their lesson, and fortunately the things that happened to them weren't permanent. Thanks for commenting, Terry, and I'm glad you enjoyed this semi-morbid tale.

    It will be Halloween in a couple of weeks, and since my friends and I are all 13-years-old, we feel we’re too old to dress up and go trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.     Five thirteen-year-old boys feel they are too old to wear costumes and go trick-or-treating, so they make other plans. On Halloween night, they all go to one of the other boy’s home for a sleep over. The plan is to pig out on candy and Halloween cookies as they watch a horror movie on TV.     I agree with you on both points. It was nice that Mac got to spend the holiday with his grandparents, since they're getting old and may not be around much longer. I'm also convinced the Devin will make an excellent Santa and the kids will surely be convinced that he's the real Santa. I'm glad you're enjoying this story.

    I grew up in an area where there was both a large Italian community in one location, so there were large selections of Italian dishes in the various local restaurants, and not far away was a large Polish/Ukrainian community. In fact, during lent the Ukrainian Church would take orders for for homenade cheese perogies, onion perogies, and sauerkraut perogies, and my family would order large quatities of each, so I'm very familiar with both cuisines. I was only commenting that I was surprised to see both types of items on the same table at the same time.

    Just so you know, entwined and intertwined have the same meaning, but entwined is the present tense and intertwined is the past tense.

    When I was a kid, it seemed that every time I went fishing my line would get entwined in something along the shore. Since there weren't a lot of places that I could go fishing at the time, I had to learn how to deal with the situation.
