Mac is quite capable of doing that, and he will if it starts to bother him more than a minor annoyance.
-
I guess that depends on how much they have to show off. 😈

Yes, that should be a fun chapter. And what else would an elf wear besides tights. Didn't you see the movie "Elf"?

I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter and are looking forward to the Christmas chapter. Yes, the boys enjoy the time they get to spend with their families, so we have a lot more to look forward to. 😎

Thanks, and I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Yes, I didn't go into that in great detail, and I guess it's left a few of you wondering exactly what he did. I thought Devin had discussed the possibilities enough to take care of that, but obviously I was wrong. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter.

I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, but I believe you developed a hiccup, since your posting appeared twice. 😎

I agree, college/university kids do seem to be more generous around Christmastime, so hopefully this will workout as planned. Yes, we can only guess what Devin's dad did to scare off the assholes, but whatever it was worked. As I said in a prior chapter, when Mac gets fed up with Devin's controlling nature, he'll let him know, and this time he did. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, Al.

I still believe that some of you are making too much out of the Devin controlling things. We'll see what happens as time goes on, but lets not jump to conclusions. They would have spent Halloween on campus, and I doubt any trick-or-treaters would go there, and I'm not sure the college group would be celebrating, except as a chance to have parties and do some drinking.

This may be the last time Mickey sees his grandparents visit his house, but let's hope that it's not the last time he sees them in person. And the Christmas visit to the hospital should be fun, I just hope I can find the right words to describe it to you.

Yes , Devin and Mac were brought up in very loving homes, that we've discovered are also very supportive of them as well. This is what brought out their own thoughtfulness and caring, which they are showing by planning the Christmas visit to the hospital and which they are getting the rest of the college community involved with. Let's hope its as successful and rewarding as they are hoping it will be.

Thank you, Johnny, I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. I posted it a little earlier this time, due to the fact that I have an appointment in the morning and I wanted to make sure I got enough sleep before I had to go there. I'm pleased that you found the many activities interesting.

Chapter 13 – Family Time The next couple of weeks fell into sort of a routine for us, but it all changed as we got closer to the Homecoming and Family Weekend. That’s because Devin and I had a great deal to do in order to prepare the house and our dorm room for our parents’ visit, since we desired to prove something to them. We wanted them to see that we were adults now and capable of living on our own and taking care of ourselves without their help. Devin and I were expecting our

I can't wait. "Summertime, Summertime, sum, sum, summertime..."

There are no visuals for this, but back in the 1950s I used to watch a TV show called Andy's Gang. It starred Andy Devin and there were two puppets that often appeared with him, Froggy and Midnight, the latter being a black cat. There were always two things about the show that confused me. First, Andy would often say, "Plunk your magic twanger, Froggy," and then Froggy would appear by magic, but I always wondered what Froggy's 'magic twanger' was and why and how he was plunking it. The other was when Andy would say, "Froggy, get off of Midnight," and then Midnight would respond in a high falsetto voice, "Nice." Needless to say, I had my own interpretation of what was going on when those things happened.

If a robin is only a North American bird, then how did the English come up with the nursery rhyme "Who Killed Cock Robin"? Although the nursery rhyme wasn't written down until the 18th century, it's believed to date back to the 14th or 15th century.

I wonder if Batman had a similar problem of being dive bombed by Robin.

eucalyptus - Word of the Day - Fri May 26, 2023

Eucalyptus is also used in many lozenges, cough syrups, rubs, antibacterial and antifungal creams and lotions, lotions for dry skin, and insect repellents. -
If you look closely, the blank were the I should be in AIR is brighter than than other blanks, which are more grayish in color, so obviously this puzzle was manipulated. I just double-checked by looking this up online and "LUCK BE IN THE AIR TONIGHT" was the correct solution.

This word brings back memories of high school English class. -
I know it's 'Luck be in the air tonight', but it's ironic that the puzzle worked out that those were the missing letters. Do you think a crew member arranged that intentionally?

They're cute, but their name sounds like it should be for a Mayan weapon.

I believe Devin did feel badly that he had to stoop so low, but since Brent and Chris were the alpha and beta of their little group it was one way he felt he could separate them. I may be wrong, but I thought they had spoken with Barry and Adam about the noise, but the group would only quiet down for a short time after they were spoken to. However, I ended up rearranging the chapters multiple times because I thought something I used later should be moved earlier in the story, so possibly I accidentally cut it out of one of the chapters. If I did, then I apologize. FYI, I never lived in a dorm because I'd been in the army before I started my freshman year, so I was exempt to the rule that freshmen had to live in a dorm and never had to put up with that craziness.

When Mac has had enough of Devin's not keeping him informed, he'll be certain to let him know. As far as the aging thing goes, that will be addressed in another conversation.
-
After years of having to be secretive about his family, it's not easy for Devin to open up to others. If you remember, Devin wasn't able to be open and honest with Mac when they were younger, and I'm sure that is having some impact on how he's acting now. It will change eventually, and Mac is giving him the time to be more open, so I hope the readers will give him more time as well.
