  1. I don't remember exactly when it happened, but It was sometime in either book 2 or earlier in book 3 of The Next Generation when Robert finally broke down and tied the knot. It would seem he just got tired of being alone, but they didn't have a big wedding, so kind of slipped under the radar. I hope that helps.
  2. You just forgot to work on the other part to become ambidextrous. 🤪
  3. As long as it doesn't mean being like Dexter, from the TV series starring Michael C. Hall, although he was mentally adroit, quite clever, and skillful with his hands.

Did you ever hear the dinner bell while you're at that park? It might explain their different reactions.
  5. No, this doesn't mean to get on the bus again.
  6. Sometimes I feel that my life has been a rebus.
  7. If you're looking for examples of a dithyramb, try Friedrich Nietzsche's Dithyrambs of Dionysus or Gabriele d'Annunzio's Alcyone.
  8. Ah, no wonder it's both inspired and enthusiastic.
  9. It's a struggle, but I really try not to be garrulous in writing my stories.
  10. of or relating to another country: foreign I take exception to that definition. I would consider them an outlander, not outlandish - of course that would depend on their behavior.
  11. Gay Authors is a microcosm of the larger LGBTQ+ community.
  12. I love this word. If only I wasn't so old that my frolicking days with a partner are behind me.
  13. Did Steve get lost in Hawaii or did he find a cute guy and opt to stay there? 😅
  14. When we were little, out parents would often read us gruesome fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, or the Pied Piper of Hamelin, and then try to assuage our fears about going to bed in the dark.
  15. From the Middle English whelmen (to turn over, capsize, invert, turn over), from the Old English hwhealmian or hweilfan ( to cover over) and originally from the German (Saxon).
  16. There are two different possibilities for the origin of this word. It may come from the Sanskrit word bharati and eventually found its way into German and then into Middle English in the word beran (to bear). The other possibility is that it originated from Medieval Latin bodina or butina and then into the French word borne and then into English.
  17. I know your name isn't Kotter, but welcome back. I'm sorry to hear about your recent medical situation, but feel at home here, because you won't be the only one whose brain is slightly damaged. I had growths on the brain several years ago, and although the situation has been dealt with, some of the problems still linger. There is a very accepting and welcoming community here, so relax, enjoy, and participate in any way you desire, whether it is reading, writing, or something else (and no I wasn't almost tempted to say 'rithmatic).
  18. What about Piers Morgan then? 😈
  19. Does this have anything to do with Morgan le Fay (aka Morgan and Morgaine) and the Arthurian legend?
  20. My accolades go out to those who work so hard and put a tremendous amount of effort and time into making Gay Authors the great and welcoming place that it is.
  21. Quintessence come from medieval Latin, quinta essentia meaning fifth essence or fifth element. It was then absorbed into Middle French and then Middle English. Gay Authors is the quintessence of Gay literature.
  22. Another word from the Latin, this time generare, which means to generate or beget, and it found its way into Middle English. So, I wasn't too far off when I first thought it meant to give someone gender. Isn't that what you do when you help to generate life?
  23. Ah, so Steve is the playa on the plage. If you don't understand this comment, then you'll have to start checking out the word of the day on a regular basis. Check out last week's edition to get the point.
  24. Ah, and the Spanish become a playa on the beach.
  25. It's funny that you should say that, because when I first looked at the Word of the Day blurb on the Forums page, I thought it said plague.
