After Adam was settled in at Johns Hopkins again, Mike gave him a very passionate kiss and energetic embrace, but then he had to leave right away so he could get back to DC and get everything organized for the next day. Brenda and Trey were already up and working on dinner by the time the rest of us got up Thanksgiving morning. After the boys came downstairs, Dion and Brandon went to the kitchen and urged the other two to take a break while they fixed breakfast for all of us. Brenda was hesitant about doing this at first, saying she would be happy to fix breakfast, but Brandon insisted and his mother eventually gave in. Dion and Brandon whipped up French toast, home fries, and bacon, while I set the table.

He played a wide variety of interesting roles and will be missed. RIP John Hurt. Also, Mike Connors, star of the TV show Mannix (1967 - 1975) also passed away this week. He was 91. RIP Mike Connors.

When Adam got back to Baltimore after returning from visiting Mike, he was dying to know how Chris had made out. The problem was, he didn't know how to do that. He checked online for more details about the arrest, but that just gave the basic information about the foster parents and what they were accused of doing, but it didn't give any specifics about what had happened to the children. Halloween had arrived and the Haunted House was proceeding without a hitch, but even better than that, Brandon and I weren't required to stick around. That was because Pop had offered to keep an eye on things for us and hand out the candy instead of wearing the scarecrow costume, as he had during the trial run. He'd opted to stuff it with hay instead and placed it in a chair on the porch as we'd originally planned. That freed us up so we could go with Dion and Trey to take the three youngest

Adam and Mike said goodbye to Dave and Judy and drove directly to the Georgetown campus. Their classes were starting about the same time again this year, so Adam was only planning to help Mike carry his things to his room and then he would spend the night. As we entered October, we all seemed to have a great deal to do and not a lot of time to get it done. Noah let us know that he and some of his teammates wanted to get started on the Haunted House this weekend, so I talked to Brandon, Dion, and Trey. The Washburns and Bermans got up early on Saturday morning, ready to make the trip home.
