Adam and Mike packed up their belongings the day after the New Year's holiday and set out for their campuses in Adam's car. Before Adam and Mike began soliciting donations, they drove down to the homeless shelter first, so they could discuss their idea with the person in charge. Thanks for the feedback, DragonFire. I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far. As far as Adam's ethical and moral choices, I had a long chat with my beta about this. In the end it was decided that with Adam wanting to be a doctor and Mike wanting to be a lawyer they would walk the straight and narrow. Hopefully, that's not an oxymoron. Besides, you're correct in thinking that life could become boring if you got everything you wanted.

I was a huge soda drinker, but I switched to coffee about 20 years ago and haven't had hardly any soda since. I use only artificial sweeteners in my coffee.

The article brought back some interesting memories for me. I come from an extremely large family and had one aunt and one uncle who remained single their entire lives. At the time people often referred to single woman as 'old maids' and single men by numerous terms, such as 'confirmed bachelor', the 'funny uncle', or the 'self imposed priest'. In most cases these terms had a cloaked meaning, such as they were homosexuals. I think that was what the survey meant when it said these people were possibly 'immoral'.
