    Chapter 1

Some people aren't happy unless they're making others miserable, which puts a different take on Happy Holidays. I had relatives that acted similarly, so we just stopped inviting them. If they want to be miserable, they can do it at home - alone. It appears as if the rest of the day will truly be a disaster, so I'm glad you left it where you did. Good job.

    Pay the Price

It's sad to think about how many people actually suffer from this type of addiction. They gamble everything away while looking for the big score. When will they realize the game is rigged against them. Nice job, Delores. Thanks for sharing.

    Invested

Here I was feeling sorry for Drake and Morgan. Their business was in trouble, so they devised a scheme to hopefully solve that situation. Then the dinner party and their little shceme began to fall apart as well, so it was looking as if the Titanic was sinking yet again. That's why I was so surprised that it ended up working out even better than either of them could have hoped for and it was a marvelous twist to give us a happy ending. Nicely done, Cole.

Thanks for the feedback, Cole. I'm glad you enjoy it.

    Chapter 1

KC, I learned several things from your story. One, I never want to be your landlord. Two, I see where Johnny Cash got the idea for the song "Ring Of Fire" and the lyric that "love is a burning desire." If Robert and you ever split, I suggest you date a fireman next. Even though we can see the humor in it now, it was a horrific incident and I'm glad no one was hurt worse than they were. My final suggestion is stay out of the kitchen. Either let Robert do the cook or eat out. I think we all prefer to keep you around. Thanks for sharing.

    Story

A Romeo and Juliet type tragedy, with feuding families, in this case kingdoms, and the story ends with a death. This time, however, only one of the lovers died, but it was no less tragic. Thanks for sharing your interesting tale.

    Chapter 1

An enchanting tale with lots of promise, so I hope you will continue it. Another fine contribution, Wayne. Thanks for sharing.

    Burnt Dreams

Aditus, a sad yet beautiful story. I can see from the other comments that people hate the open ending, but it allows the reader to imagine the ending the way he might wish. For my part, I think Same went inside, saw what Paul had done and realized he'd rather be with someone as caring and thoughtful as Paul, rather than Mark. At least that's how I hope it worked out. Thanks for the story.
  9. I think nearly everyone that reads this story will be able to identify with Axel falling hopelessly in love with a straight guy. I think we've all done it and experienced the pain and futility, although I'm sure not many of us have been as lucky to find happiness so soon after the bitterness of reality comes crashing down on us - or into us, as was the case for Axel. Nicely done.

    Chapter 1

Thanks, Wayne, and this story is meant as an object lesson for those that think they can simply change a gay orientation or deny gays equal rights. I hope others learn this before similar unfortunate circumstances prevail. Thanks for the feedback.

    Chapter 1

Aditus, I'm glad you enjoyed my little tale. It only goes to prove that the heart knows what it wants. Thanks for the feedback.

    Chapter 1

We certainly hope that's how it worked out, Joann. Thanks for the feedback.
  13. In a far away land, during a time long forgotten, there was a kingdom ruled by a decent and well-intentioned, although woefully incompetent king named Percival. As far as his subjects were concerned, Percival’s father had been a truly great king, but Percival’s deeds paled in comparison to those of his sire. This may have had something to do with the long shadow cast by his father’s legendary reputation and the enormous, and possibly unfair, expectations everyone held for King Percival’s reign
  14. King Percival is viewed as an utter failure by his subjects, both as a man and a ruler. For this reason, he attempts to do everything he can to make sure his only son is prepared to replace him when he dies, but the prince has flaws of his own. One is that he is attracted to other males, not females. Since his father refuses to accept his sexual orientation, King Percival does everything within his power to alter his son’s desires, until the situation ultimately spirals out of control.
  15. Happy Birthday, Benji. I hope it's a great on for you!
  16. I think in America the guy would have thrown her over the railing and then returned everything for a refund.
  17. Didn't the guy just consider breaking up with her and going home? Seems like an awfully drastic action just because she wanted to continue shopping. I guess some Chinese haven't completely come to grips with the downside of capitalism.
  18. So much time has passed since I was that age, yet so little has changed. We can only hope a day will come when things like he's doing is no longer necessary.
  19. He was an amazing example of how you have choices in life. He could have been bitter and tried to seek vengence for being incarcerated for so long, but instead he forgave and moved on with his life. He alleviated the fears the white minority had that they would be forced to pay for their past. Instead, he united a nation. I salute this great man and may he rest in peace.
  20. Auburn has had a charmed ending to their season and will now go to the National Championship game, thanks to Michigan State beating Ohio State. I'll be interested in seeing how they do against Florida State now.
  21. Happy Birthday, Nostalgic. Oh to be 29 again. Hope it's a great one.
  22. Happy Birthday, Jeremy. May this one be followed by many more.
  23. I think it's highly unfair to compare a live action show to the movie, where they could redo anything they didn't like. For being live, I thought they did a remarkable job, with no major flubs, and it was nice to see a revival of the live action plays/musicals, such as they stage on 50s television. It was like going to the theater without having to leave the comfort of your favorite chair.
  24. Happy Birthday, Wayne. I hope it turns out to be everything you want and you receive your heart's desire.
  25. Congrats, Tomas, and I lift my glass in honor of such a dedicated member.
