  5. Make time to indulge in this short story, four chapters. It’s not exactly love at first sight. It’s love at first fight. First gun fight. Read this stand alone tale. Then read it again after you read Sidewinder and let it lead you to Larkspur: A Sidewinder Tale. Start here, with a short story, four chapters, and you’ll want to read your way back here from the beginning. Love at first fight. ❤️

Phew. @Demiurge this is likely your first masterpiece. Not this chapter, this series, this trilogy, Light Dancing in the Dark. Not limiting you to three. Nope nope nope. Not everyone writes multiple murder princes. Multiple. You have written spares! Spares and pink-eyed monsters with dangerous fetishes. Let’s not overlook the Majik. Majik that continues to grow and amaze. And save…and heal… So nice to see Potlyne. Her troubled man-child goblin man too. The non-bio parents are the best time and time again! My heart broke a little at the memory of why this line was written: “…he was old enough now to keep his family safe.” Phew. #meepwillsavetheworld ❤️
  7. Seems young Otis will be easy to love and not just to the readers. I’m wondering if there is or will be a glass menagerie. An exciting change of pace to read this from you. Great start!
  8. That conversation under the branches was incredibly mature for these to young guys and heartwarming.

Wow. I feel genuine sympathy for Albert and his struggles and I feel plain sorry for Damien. The whole lot of fantasy in his head seems to make it more difficult to see Albert’s reality. Not that Albert is being a great communicator… Laughed out loud at the kimchi! Well done. All of it.

    Chapter 4

The epilogue is great! So nice to have a glimpse of their future. Your chastisement of the VA is spot on and a nationwide failure. The treatment and appreciation of veterans in this tale is a beautiful thing. Thoroughly enjoyed every word.

    Chapter 3

Hollow points to the head. What a way to go. Good that good triumphs over evil. Plenty of evil, mercy. Hoping Esker makes an appearance.

    Chapter 2

A lot to absorb in this chapter! Focusing on the positive I really love that the Vet Squad was assembled, first and foremost. I have no objection to Donk meeting his end for multiple reasons though that act seemed to expand the circle of evil doers involved. Rabbit will run again. Gotta have faith.

    Chapter 1

Throughout history so many atrocities committed in the ‘name of’. Action packed chapter. So many possible outcomes. Hope the Foleys go down.

    Prologue

An amazing foundation and a true history lesson. Levittown. A woolen mill. The latest influx of Catholics. This speaks to my family history. You have my full attention.

    Chapter 1

You sent me here without a Kleenex warning! @drsawzall you made me cry! What a wonderful holiday story. My grade school best friend’s dad sold International Harvester vehicles. Big smile at the Travelall. They always had a new Scout. Where to next?
  16. Finally we know what happened and why! Brian Hathaway sounds like a self-centered ass. Mrs. Georgadiis, on the other hand, had the right words at the right time. That was really nice.

    Chapter 1

What a wildly fast-paced, fun read this is. Hurray for Tommy Banks!
  18. A very interesting glimpse inside Chris’ head…and heart. Still no clue what he was expelled for! C’mon already!! Looked up ‘manky’ and read about ‘Xhosa’. Only two trips to the dictionary today.

    Chapter 3

    That last line 😉
  20. The earth began to cool. Perspective in the comments. It all started with…
  21. Cliffs Notes. List making. He hasn’t felt free since grade school. Ezra. His roommate. Complicated stuff. Fantastic storytelling.
  22. Sebastian’s navigation of the world with media references (TV frequently) fascinates me. An existence that sheltered? If we are basic animals who operate on love or fear then I think his driving force is obvious. Miles can’t be banished. ❤️
  23. I did lose track of who was speaking. Had to read it twice, carefully. Reader’s note on your author’s note: “…like I really am a good writer sometimes.” Yeah. You definitely are. More than sometimes. I haven’t seen anything other than here. Every artist I’ve ever known is their own worst critic. Revel in this creation. It’s really good.
  24. Sebastian refusing to dead name Stef is amazing. I was confused at the time but as soon as I read she was trans it was immediately clear. Well done coriander. Mad respect. Speaking of … wow. Holy plot twist. I’m saddened that Sebastian doesn’t draw strength from his sister (maybe he will) but he is still a young, and confused, man. Does their mom have room to grow? Hmm. What could dad bring to the conversation? Hmm. Cannot stop the binge. This is such a good read and I wholeheartedly disagree with your seeming dissatisfaction with this chapter. Best chapter yet and they are all great. ❤️
  25. So much in this chapter. So, so much. My heart aches for Sebastian. Miles making out with Emile is painful enough, mercy, but all the rest of the sensory overload. And being, I don’t know, objectified by the drunk guy. That’s a lot. Great storytelling, no question.
