Surprisingly gay people seemed to be accepted and more common at dinner, and on the Major's military staff, than some might expect. Rico turned out to a real "wildcard" in the two boys after dinner activities! The Major tried his best to make everyone feel comfortable at his home, and this close staff holiday get-together. Kurtis is also getting much more excited to being proven as the Major's son. Thanks for this chapter Lee, we realize you are a very busy man.- 29 comments

I know, I felt the same way this morning. Then my watching the 9/11 attack remembrance coverage on tv, did not make my day any better. It all was just so sad. The news has been doing that alot lately (sadness). It is my hope is that others enjoyed a much better day! 💙 -
Julian is just learning the rhythm of life at Hale Mahina, and the workings of the the people who call his new surroundings their home. He will need to rely on the knowledge, wisdom. and work of all of them, to make his plan to buy the plantation, a wise decision. They in turn realize he could be the man involved in keeping their future secure. He has much to learn, and many wise decisions to make, to be successful in this new venture. Thoughts of Sam's return, and constantly linger heavy upon him. His warm feel for this place as his new home, has taken hold of his thoughts and future plans. We shall learn what surprises that may yet lie ahead of him, as he secretly attempts to buy his father's mismanaged property. Fingers crossed! 🫰

Wow, the truth about many situations are landing upon Julian's shoulders right now. He needs to learn the business of this plantation, it's people. and his father's future motives towards him. It will take much thought, work and study, on how to cut ties with his father and to move forward with his own ideas. We all think that buying the property has entered his thoughts. and he needs to consider if this would the best way to make his stand in this island kingdom? I love how this story is developing, and want to learn more. I also think Julian will find his own way to meet his future goals and desires, with Sam in mind!

This was another excellent chapter Lee, that shows the Major's concern for Kurtis, as well as to his staff. This story grabs one's emotions in countless ways. I know that your time is limited right now, but I hope to see more chapters play out in the future. Or even a possible follow up story. when your time is not so limited. I love the whole dynamics of it, and your excellent involvement of all of the various characters! as always for sharing your talents and imagation with your readers.

Wow, that was a thrilling start to Sam and Leo's day, (volatile and compromised bed sheets included)! Barnaby and collapsing timelines can't wait when duty calls.

I have to agree with @Tris. Julian's situation seems to be much less dire than I was expecting. He has just arrived, so we don't know who yields daily control over the major decisions, as of yet. I believe that his father is to far away, to have a complete understanding of the actual day to day operations, of his business I am looking forward to his talk with the plantation's bookkeeper. and for Julian to learn as much about the business as possible. Julian is an intelligent young man with a large nest egg of cash, thanks to his grandmother's gift. He has 2 months until Sam returns, so he should use this time wisely. Will this be a punishment, or an opportunity for him to excel? We shall see just what is in store for Julian, as @Albert1434's adventurous tale unfolds.

Wow, there was so much info shared in this chapter, and for us readers to process. Natasha has lived up to her self-centered ways, driving her family further against her (poor Leo). I will let @Summerabbacat deal with her later! The church's Pastor Gideon is gaining a much needed police investigation, with many of his followers revolting against him. The family compound may increase in size and scope? My worries over the dance floor, seemed to have been totally baseless. Overall this was a chapter filled with so many moving pieces of information, for readers to take in, and consider further. Some pieces of "turmoil" were lessened, while others seemed to have been increased. I'm thinking that this story, still has a long way yet to go.

I do have a large portable ac for our downstairs area, thank goodness. It has been well worth the price paid, over the years. -

After making it through August with no days in the 90's, we now are dealing with heat dome warnings for the beginning of Sept. Clouds and rain would be welcome at my home. as we have not had the flooding problems, or rough storms; as others near us have experienced this last week. I am looking forward to our next cold front, coming from the North. Sadly we do not have central AC, and I don't want to use my oven, in this heatwave! Take care all who have suffered from the recent weather and power outages, and may more fall like weather return very soon. Do I dare I to even mention climate change? Also wishing @Gary L a safe and problem free holiday! Take care everyone. -
The mystery of what awaits Julian on the island of Hilo, awaits his arrival. Sam has made his pledge to return to him after he fulfills his promise to Captain Briggs. Sam is all about honoring his commitments, and has vowed to seek out Julian in two months time, after the he completes his voyage. Julian must now use his own resourcefulness to adapt to what awaits him at the family's plantation. Captain Briggs advise to him rings in the minds of us readers. This was a chapter of love, commitments made, and having the ability to meeting the challenges presented to him, by his father's decisions of his imposed exile.

In the board game Clue, Colonel Mustard was a proud but pompous retired military man. Waiting to learn what the inside jokes relate about him in Lee's story.

I am very happy to read a more upbeat chapter for Kurtis, and his situation. Tony seems to be a very caring, and likable man. It also looks like he has an important job at the Pentagon. I look forward to learning much more about him, and his backstory as your story continues.

Better to be early with full payments in advance, than too late with no prepaid transactions. I guess that assuming that clients know all the actual important details, is a total risk with some of them. -
Julian and Sam shared the hard truths and their feelings, inside of Julian's small but protective cabin. Both young men were exiled from their homes by upset fathers who chose to cast them away. They shared some of their stories, along with their hopes and fears about what each desired from the future and each other, within this cruel world that would now have to face together. This chapter was well written, and very heart felt. Well done @Albert1434. Their joint future is just waiting to be revealed.

I think Elias will end up being past history. I too was concerned that Julian's diary in the wrong hands, could be used against him. We will just have to sit back and watch, as @Albert1434 continues to spin his tale.

Well, that was intense ...... Sam reacted with confidence, in his own feelings towards Julian. Where and what, will their shared bonding lead to, in the days ahead? We all have seen this attraction growing stronger by every hour that they had shared together. Will Sam become the stable foundation for Julian to place his uncertain future with? We will be waiting to learn much more, as your tale continues @Albert1434.

Things went extremely well with Martin's visit, and his no turmoil meeting with Nathan's very happy extended family. It makes me wonder how Ben and his sister, are enjoying their time at their mother's planned "official birthday party"? Meanwhile back at Martin's, Justin and his fellow students are busy constructing an elaborate designed dance floor / swimming pool cover, for the younger adult planned, birthday celebration. It was a busy time for everyone, at all three locations.
