I specifically remember Nick “thinking” during the narration that Noah never sent anything over the holiday. Poor Nick. He’s all over the damn place. I’d wager he’s thinking more like a 16-17yo but that’s just my unsolicited uneducated opinion.

I suppose that would work. But would also wager that there’s a bigger story there waiting to be told. Painful though it might be, some of the best stories here in GA start with horrific beginnings and end so powerfully beautiful. That said, I realize it takes an emotional shit ton of strength to especially at that level. I also realize often authors create fictional characters after themselves or parts of themselves. A perfect example of this would be Comicality. Many of his characters are based off of his own experiences and personality. Man I miss his work. He encouraged me to write my own story from trauma but I just don’t think I can. Not just because it’d be painful to do emotionally, I just don’t think I have the creativity in me to make it a quasi-fictional story. Let’s face it. A lot of us have trauma from our orientation. A lot of us have bonded from what this site has brought us together. For some of us it’s closure. For some it’s acceptance. For all of us it’s a culture.we feel heard here. Safe. So IF it’s hard to read that’s ok. You don’t have to. Hugs man.

Overall, the disagreement between Artie and Adam was actually a good thing. They both got very valid points across and BOTH listened to each other’s points without overtaking the other. The respect they share is encouraging. Dizzy, for his part, was perfect. He supported Artie how Artie needed and also didn’t brow beat his own position which, in truth, is irrelevant because he doesn’t really have a say. This was a good chapter. I think Artie is right however in that he never got that chance with his father as Adam did even though Adam has history and at least knew Ezra as a teen. Odds are high Adam is right if I’m correct in thinking that Ezra is a narcissist. They don’t change. They just move on to a new victim and we see this when Adam no longer became Ezra play thing and Sarah took his place there. I’m not saying however that Ezra is a sexual predator or anything. At least Artie has taken Adam’s very valid concerns to heart and is keeping that information in the back of his mind as Artie continues to talk to Ezra. I would love to see Artie and Sadie talk more. She seems to have more she’s yet to say and seems to be holding it back for some reason.

I think there is more to the story of Ezra than we all know about yet. I think Adam knows more BUT I don’t think he knows it all much less most of it. I don’t blame Adam’s response here. From his perspective, he’s right. But also, from Artie’s perspective, he too is also correct. Plus, I think Artie is also taking the correct approach on this. He also has a right to know his father and what happened. Colleen and Adam tag teaming the boys to correct their grades is wise and the right thing to do. The back and forth between Colleen and Dizzy is hilarious.

Hearing this is planning to be a long story makes me happy

I get it. Altimexis makes a decent point however, as you said, it’s been 5 years. Nick seemingly has adjusted to his father passing at this point. He’s gotten older, more mature-ish anyway. There doesn’t seem to be the dwelling on his loss as much now and the grieving is beyond the acceptance stage. He’s moved on mostly. I say mostly bc sure he misses him. But it’s a healthy missing of him. The void of guidance he has from his father ..there haven’t been thoughts of “I wonder what dad would tell me” etc. Nick is mature enough now, and knew his dad well enough, to know mostly what is dad would tell him. If he could get his mother to not work every time he comes home and actually had meaningful conversations with her, undoubtedly she’d likely say something that remind Nick of what his father would say. But, at this point, Nick is just being deliberately ignorant of the spark he and Jack have. Jack keeps trying to keep his feelings out there. Nick basically ignores it.

What father? There isn’t one.

Ok didn’t see Ezra popping coming into the picture. Probably should’ve though. I am rather surprised the whereabouts of him weren’t brought into question during the hearing. Good chapter

I like how Davin approached Joel. Excitedly interested but caring enough to realize Joel has gone through something. He’s forward yet patient. Welcoming yet reserved, not being too pushy. Whether or not gay or not isn’t the top priority it seems. What Joel needs is gentle affection right now. I almost expect a nightmare to hit Joel tonight and Gavin is JUST the person to comfort him in a warm safe embrace
