It was my first impression too... But then I thought, it's a childish reaction. Child in need of love, not romantic love but parental love. Kieran and Ash are more similar than they thought they are. Both are neglected by parents, the difference is how it shows. Both hide their pain in arrogance, but Ash is more like a clown while Kieran is more like a cruel bastard. They desperately need hugs from their parents too...

All the patterns are here - daddy issue, incestual relationship, cheating, jealousy, lust and passion, dramatic revelation... Any other author would make here the end of the story with end of the marriage, destruction of their lives and relationships. But @CasualWanderer82 is master of making outrageous moments as trigger for the complicated future events. Nothing is ever perfect, says Nick at the beginning of the chapter. Their marriage certainly wasn't! Seems that passion has died out...still, I'd say that love hasn't. Cruel and jealous boy, in love with his father and hate for his stepfather... Who is he going to be? Shall we see Brandon from Seagull's Bay destructive monster ready to burn everything on his way? Is he Ryan, hiding his true feelings behind cruelty or he is divine Caleb (from Man up!), someone to change their lives into something more than love and passion, something metaphysical? Has Nate hidden animalistic passion to match father and son...or his calm mentality will find his soul mate with Richard, enigmatic neighbor? Dark, intriguing, forbidden, kinky...amazing! @CasualWanderer82 at his best!

I thought Rory will go to find his mother first! Suppose father is still "sleeping" somewhere... Ewan has become Kieran and Rory's right hand. It's good to have loyal and reliable man in a world of plots and intrigues. Speaking of 'small gathering'...did Croft survive the war; another ally might be helpful. Just when I thought WSIII is the pure evil, @empath brings The Turd's past and we see him, at least, as human! Victim, turn into villain, the same as Damir. Unfortunately, I don't see the possibility of redemption for those two. Sometimes it's too late, the irreparable damage has already been done! I agree with @drsawzall that The Turd is not a very good actor! Is it because of his arrogance and self-assurance that he believes he is untouchable?! Doctor might be speaking of his physical condition or psychological trauma but, on many levels, Walter is not going to be the same boy. It is good to see that he is loved by his mother and brother but now, being almost killed, finding new friends and support, he might become more determined and open with things he wants in his life! Juan is a hero; I'm sure officer Tony knows it! Does it really matter who is he going to bed with?! Bloody bigots!

These guys are simply adorable! Snowflake's insecurities about his body and children calling him a 'ghost', makes me think...is he albino?! 🤔

I'm absolutely and totally in love with Brian! Amazing lover, he gives himself 100% Too bad his heart already belongs to icy man! Jimmy might have been hurt, but if that was the price of one night being treated like a king, then it's worth of it. As for the Snowflake, I'm surprised he made such misjudgment of Brian's thoughts and expression. The day before, he was reading him like an open book! Are emotions make him blind?!

I don't know how many times I've came back to this story... Today, after reading https://gayauthors.org/story/empath/souris/, I came again to enjoy this beautiful reunion of Land of Lincoln characters. Whether you think of this @empath's story as epilogue or just as excerpt from the life of our favorite characters, you'll be, once again deeply touched by the emotional and human aspect of this tale. Although published before Kept Boy to Made man was finished, this story should be read after you read Kept Boy... and We Hold These...

Is there a better way to pay tribute to the @Comicality, author who gave such a huge contribution to GA, than write a story about a boy who is struggling with the destruction of his family, sexuality and society rejection. @empath brings a new character (Souris) to the fantastic Land of Lincoln gallery. We see again some old friends, meet some new - cry and laugh with them and enjoy in another @empath masterpiece!

@empath, what a magnificent tribute to @Comicality! Souris, another one of your amazing characters, from the breakup of his family, from the verge of the suicide, to the happily ever after! It's beautiful that even Daniel and Juan, in spite of Daniel's disease, adopt Mutt who brings some happiness in their life. This story has made me think about Daniel's destiny, but I'll write it hidden because of spoilers...

Unreliable witness is not something Walter the "Turd" could tolerate! There is also possibility of some substantial trust fund from maternal side of the family. If Walter was disowned, he could take the fund and live happily ever after, if he is dead, money goes to his parents! 🤔

Even this concern for his mother... I mean, I don't say he doesn't love her but, honestly, he's been visited her mostly to get some lube for sex! 😜
