  1. Just keep in mind that there are a few years difference between when these stories are set. While Kieran and Charlie are living in more recent times, Matt and Luke and the gang first moved to T'ville ... Ie I started writing AWD and had it set ... around 2000, with Tony being the successful author about 10 years later, so the time span for the whole Thompsonville series covers quite a wide period. My whole plan has always been for the stories and characters to crossover at various points, so from time to time there are bound to be some interactions between different characters and storylines ... provided I can keep it all straight in my head! lol
  2. After seeing off my family, Charlie and I retreated to the relative safety of my old bedroom, while my parents and Toby busied themselves elsewhere in the house; my parents cleaning up in the kitchen, and Toby tackling the delicate process of piecing together one of the model ships he had been given for Christmas. ‘So, what comes next?’ Charlie quietly asked me, as we both sat down on my bed. ‘What comes next? Or who comes next?’ I replied, giving him a smirk as I do so. ‘It’s Chr
  3. Well, Tony did say that something about the name Randy Thompson didn't quite sit right! lol To be honest I can't even remember how far down the road that Tony gets with this new book, or even if that name comes up again. I guess I'll find out as we get further into the re-editing process! 😉
  4. @Philippe I won't even touch the the boots and bonnets thing ... I have no idea where or how that started. I do love the idea of cars having names though. My grandmother had several VW beetles and they were always called 'Bommy'. I've mostly owned various models of Fords and they have all been called 'Henry' (get it?). I currently drive an Isuzu called 'Izzy'... 😂
  5. After I had disconnected from Shi-Anne I finished my coffee and my now cold toasted sandwich, then decided to look a few things up on the web using my phone. It had only been five minutes since I had spoken with Shi-Anne, but when I got up to leave a few minutes later and stepped back onto the sidewalk my telephone rang, with her number displaying on the screen. ‘Yeah?’ I said. ‘How about Randy Thompson for your nom-de-plume?’ she asked. ‘Oh, dear!’ I laughed. ‘How the hell did yo
  6. 😁❤️😋😂😋🤣😍🤩 And there I was thinking that news was going to break on Channel 69...
  7. Excitement seemed to have been coursing through my veins when I had finally crawled into bed last night, and for a long time I couldn’t get to sleep as I tossed and turned and went over and over in my mind the events of the last few days. I was convinced that all the elements of the life I wanted were finally coming together, and that it wouldn’t be long before I would be embarking on a new journey. Yet despite my earlier feelings of contentment, after a while there also seemed to be anothe
  8. From time to time throughout the night Charlie would come and sit with us, as we all recounted stories from our younger years. At times we would be laughing. At times a more sombre mood would prevail. All the while, however, we were recalling times that had meant much to us all, and we all knew that no matter what happened from this point forward, they were still memories to be cherished, and which we would carry to our graves. All night the food just seemed to keep on coming, and yes, I wa
  9. @Ivor Slipper @Al Norris Really? Am I that predictable? LOL
  10. Wow! Some effort went into that one @Summerabbacat. Thank you. ❤️
  11. @weinerdog what's the pay like?
  12. ‘I never really understood what happened when you left,’ Jess said to me. ‘I mean, why you left. Mum said you did something bad, so you had to go away, but even amidst all the yelling and screaming Mike and I still didn’t understand. We thought the police were going to come and take you away, and that’s why you left, so they wouldn’t get you.’ ‘I know. I saw the confusion in your faces. I just prayed that one day you would understand; that you would be able to see past the lies that I knew
  13. @Summerabbacat I hear ya, on all fronts! lol
  14. Thank you @Summerabbacat sometimes I think I get it right. Still a lot of adventure to come for the boys yet, so hold onto your hat!
  15. @Paladin that is so very true, but at least here in make believe land we can have those happily ever after moments, despite what is happening around us ❤️
  16. @Al Norris and life is about to get busier! 😉
  17. @weinerdog funny you should say that. Stay tuned 😉
  18. No sooner had Stuart left us, than I collapsed onto my bed, with my head in my hands. Charlie sat down beside me and tried rubbing my shoulders and back, trying to offer some support, but I wasn’t sure how much good it was doing. I was truly shaken by what had just happened and I had no idea just how I was going to face any of my family. Before I could think or react further, however, the next thing I knew was that we could hear footsteps coming up the hall. I looked up just as Pippa appear
  19. @Summerabbacat thank you for that in depth analysis. I didn't know if I should hit ❤️ or 😂, so that's why you gat a 😯 And just so you know, there's a lot of water yet to flow under this bridge!!! 😉
  20. Matt looked up from whatever he was doing behind the counter when we walked in, his face immediately breaking out into a broad smile when he spotted the two of us coming through the door. ‘So, you found him, then?’ he said to Aaron as we reached the counter. ‘Eventually, yeah. He wasn’t at the house though, I had to track him down.’ ‘That’d be right. So, how has your day been? Are you guys all good then?’ ‘I reckon so,’ Aaron replied. ‘We had a picnic lunch by the lake,
  21. Well, @wildone, I guess we're getting ready for winter, which isn't far away now. Living where I do up in the mountains, our winters are usually cool and often wet, so today I stacked my first (of many) load of firewood in preparation. If the weekends aren't too miserable, I'll quite probably be outside catching up on jobs on the farm. If they are miserable, I'll be inside the house with the fire roaring and either writing or watching football on TV. Haha! Like many folks from around this neck of the woods, I have a couple of trips planned north into Queensland over the next few months, where I'm sure the weather will be more welcoming. Any thoughts of sunburn will be six months away!
  22. @Doha well, unfortunately we don't really have too many adult book stores here ... except maybe in some of the cities. Us country folk have to get educated and experienced by "other" means.
