  1. When the cool water rushed over my feet for the first time, then cascaded back around them, dragging sand and seaweed with it, I soon found myself struggling to stand. It was just like it had been on my very first visit to a beach, when I was six years old. I stopped and Guy finally let go of my hand, then turned back towards me. ‘What’s up?’ he asked. I looked at my feet and he looked down there as well. ‘Quicksand!’ I giggled. ‘Oh man, get a grip!’ he laughed. I loved the s

    Greedy

Got to love it when the bully gets his just desserts!!! 😋
  3. Oh yes. It is the same here! Just the accusation can be enough to tar a person for life if you are living in the wrong place. Of course, time can help heal most wounds, and for the most part things might will be forgotten, but sadly, there will always be that one person who will remember, and let you know that they remember! 😥 I have seen it happen far too often.
  4. After Luke had left me, I finished my breakfast then sought out the trousers I had been wearing yesterday, before retrieving my phone from the pocket. I had turned it off before my flight had left Brisbane yesterday and had deliberately left it off all day, for the simple reason that while I was here I was wanting a little bit of alone time, a little bit of time where I didn’t have to think about deadlines or contracts or offers of any sort. I knew that once my presence here was known there
  5. As did I ... and even more so when the movie came out!
  6. "Y-you just mark my words now..." 😋
  7. Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy the story 🙂
  8. When I arrived back here in Thompsonville I wasn’t exactly sure of what I should expect, as even from my own relatively short life experience I had already found that time has a habit of changing people. I needn’t have worried though, as Luke and Matt were still the same as they always had been; loving, funny, supportive and a whole lot of fun to be around. It wasn’t hard to love them. I have to admit that it was terrific catching up with everyone that night over great steaks and a few bee
  9. @Summerabbacat THIS!!! It was from their album Jokers and Queens. Got to see them perform on the Jokers and Queens tour. Simply awesome!
  10. @Summerabbacat we haven't mentioned my favourite Aussie artist yet . . . the late, great Jon English! And another one I thought of today . . . TMG! lol (Not everyones cup of tea I will agree)
  11. Oh, yes! Annie is quite a talent!
  12. Yeah . . . nah! lol
  13. Haha ... I haven't heard that in a while! Rather enjoyable, all things considered! Billy Field ... interesting character. I loved those two songs. He ran a recording studio in Sydney (used by ALL THE BIG NAMES) and now lives around Gosford.
  14. @Summerabbacat so now I've had to go searching for some of my other old favourites. Be interested to know whether they get a thumbs up or thumbs down from ya!
  15. I guess if everybody you know abandons you, chances are your life could feel like it's spiralling out of control. It's how you react to that happening that shows your character ... so let's see how things develop from here? 😉
  16. As Tim and Guy pulled their vehicle to a stop in front of the garage, the three of us were waiting for them. From the moment they laid eyes on me and recognised me I knew instantly how I would be received by the pair of them. Tim’s frown said most of what I needed to know, while Guy’s smile said the rest. ‘Here goes nothing,’ I whispered to Luke as I brushed past him and headed for the driver’s side door from which Tim was now emerging. I figured it would be best to get the more daunti
  17. Yeah ... it was an odd mix. And how the fuck they came up with the list I have no idea. Still, it was an interesting stroll down memory lane
  18. I'm just glad that I knew most of them! lol Could have been embarrassing otherwise.
  19. So, folks, while we're talking about Aussie music, I found this and thought I should share it. Top 30 Australian Songs of All Time. Please enjoy!
  20. It was All Out of Love 😋
  21. You could be right there about them not being readily identifiable as being Australian. That's probably part of the reason for their o/s success. As for my writing, well I've always tried to make sure that I'm not always writing the same story, so I guess somewhere down the line chances are that I'm bound to slip up. LOL I have plans for how Kieran and Charlie's story is going to pan out. I guess I just need to try and stick to those plans 😉
  22. I was always in awe that a couple of little Aussie bands ... Air Supply and LRB ... could make it SO BIG in the US of A, and while my musical tastes at that time were somewhat different, I still enjoyed listening to both bands. They were a credit to us all. Now as for Tony and Aaron, you are largely correct, but ... **spoiler alert** ... it's the fact that Aaron is abandoned by everyone who he thought loved him that rocks him to the core and causes all his inner turmoil. I guess it's up to Tony to see if he can get through to him again. Good pick up on the comparison between the two stories though. I hadn't really thought of it like that, but I get what you are saying. Still, two very different tales with just the one major similarity, I would like to think. Now I'll have to be more conscious of that as I work on additional chapters for Traditions! lol
  23. @centexhairysub @Al Norris @CincyKris @chris191070 all will be revealed as the chapters progress 😋
  24. Matt and I sat back down beneath the shade of the Jacaranda tree in the backyard and, while sipping cold beers and nibbling on some snacks he had managed to find in the kitchen, started swapping stories about what we had each been doing for the past five years. For the most part we already knew what had been going on in all our lives, as in this modern age it had been easy for us all to keep in contact anyhow, but still he seemed to enjoy the details of some of my adventures. He had ar
