Method, which Power Ranger did you have a Crush on? Seriously, I remember even at 9 that I had a Crush on? I loved Jason, but my heart went to Rocky as the red ranger (I still thought Jason was better as the overall leader though, even though Tommy grew into the role well over the years I watched the show as a kid)

Well, we also need to include some preludes from the 90's as well for the adults during that time: Before there was Smallville, there was Lois and Clark It was a fun show and my first taste of Soap Opera like TV, but based around Superman (The season with the Wedding was just a Soap Opera with evil twins, amnesia, and a ticking clock at the wedding)

Oh, I missed that show, no seriously I missed that show growing up as it was in 94-95 and I was 7-8 For me, I was a WB's Fan Boy in the 90's: 90's Teen Drama without Buffy that's Blasphemy Yes, you can't forget Dawson's Creek and the epic love triangle Plus, I think this show contributed the most influence on GLBT teens and awareness in the 90's Roswell and Angel were early 2000's, so I count them in for the 00's, when I was actually a Teenager for influence

Why not arbitrate a forced write-down of UK debt by the portion held by Scotland through the IMF? Basically, it would avoid war, reduce the value of the Pound Sterling, and Scotland would be a blank slate upon independence. Of course, the UK would basically be robbing its debt holders in order to settle the bill of a Scottish state, but it's not an unheard of practice.

Some new details on new SimCity: http://mashable.com/2013/01/28/simcity-hands-on/ http://www.nowgamer.com/pc/pc-previews/1781958/simcity_5_things_you_didnt_know_about_the_maxis_reboot.html A thought came to my mind as they described how you could follow your Sims around: I wonder, since "the Sims" have gay and lesbian relationships, would it be possible to create an entire city based around that. (The inner modder in me is drooling in anticipation.) I don't need them to have "Wohoo!" and stuff, it would just cool.

Mozilla is the non-profit spin-off of Netscape, so yes I am for the Fox biting the IE Chrome isn't bad, it's just weird. Some sites just hate google chrome for some reason. The Big 3 Browser now are: Google Chrome, IE, and Firefox (according to some reports, Google has surpassed Microsoft as the largest browser). The net is also changing, does anyone remember Macromedia Shockwave vs. Java fights in the 90's

Netscape Forever!!!!

Well at least I am not the only disabled gay guy on this site and everyone has their own unique takes. John, you are a great guy. Besides, the turtles win the race (even though I was born in the year of the hare ) Lacey, I really want to just hug you tight and never let go, Partial blindness is kind of weird, I am not completely blind, but I am not able to use my sight either. I hate having to go through life being here and half there, so I kind of understand SilverNitro's point. Nephy, the shadows cannot consume what is bright, they cannot presume over what is right You will find a light eventually to shine through the abyss. The surgeries were the worst for me, because for a brief period of time I have to wear eye patches and use my cane. Imagine going into class like that. The teachers were amenable. They closed the blinds and turned off most of the lights in the room to allow my eye to be used (one of the side effects of Glaucoma is the formation of Cataracts, which need to be removed), but the kids didn't understand why I could not have intense light. I hated being the one singled out for that stuff. It takes weeks for my cornea to heal and besides how difficult life was, the kids made it worse.

Agreed, cute, but not my type either, still worth a few points Congrats to the kid for bravery and courage, hope he will find a nice guy in the future.

The CNN article caught my eye (for those who know me, I am blind in one eye and suffer from Congenital Glaucoma). http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/25/health/brian-steel-impaired-perceptions/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 This line from the subject of the article, Brian Steel, really highlights what disabled people feel: The irony is I am partially blind, but I can understand how perception is formed and how people's views can shape your reality. Growing up, I was in special ed classes for several years with teachers bending backwards to keep us all busy and working. Some normal kids would approach us, they would tease our class for their disabilities and speak in slower tones as if we were all mentally handicapped. I hated the treatment. Eventually in middle school, I studied independently outside of class and asked to be placed in higher level classes. I got in and was placed in classes with advanced placement kids. The teachers were nice for the most part, but I could still see snickers after I had to walk into a classroom with a cane after an eye surgery, because I had to put an eye patch over the only eye I have vision in. I pushed even harder and got into a magnet high school in 7th grade and I hold a bachelors degree and Masters degree now. Through all that, I was also gay. I guess in retrospect, in my pursuit to silence the perceptions, it wasn't hope that kept me going, but a need to prove myself and my being without a label. Don't know how many members of GA are disabled to that extent, but wanted to share some personal reflections.

I will leave this blog short for now, but I think I need to write something. A short story is now in my head that cannot be removed. I don't know if it is the right thing to do or the wrong thing, but I have to write out and play it in my mind. Hope my favorite editor NNN is still up to the challenge. The Big Squeeze is still being written, so don't worry, I haven't abandoned that story.

Does anyone see a pattern between the old Gold Rush and the Shale Rush happening? Congrats Australia in being possibly wealthier than the entire US, just don't spend it all in one place.

Ugh....Prayer during dim sum for each dish
W_L commented on W_L's blog entry in Life is worth an entry
Yup, the old snake boy The Chinese Zodiac story goes that a snake is actually a Dragon who was punished due to disobedience and pride. He had his arms/legs chopped off, then expelled to slither on the earth for eternity. I am Christian, but I respect my people's traditions and customs, including our fables. I believe humility is the hallmark of Christian practice, so I really detest the selfishness and pride that some Christians exhibit. I wouldn't be this pissed off just due to the prayer over food. It might be annoying, but at least I can understand it. Thanking God for obvious misfortune on others is wrong on so many levels. I don't think funeral parlors would pray to have more customers, even if they were good Christians. It's not you Mike, but others that hold such malicious desires even if its indirect. -
This just happened about 5 hours ago, my family were heading out for our weekly saturday morning dim sum meal, which is sort of like the Chinese version of brunch. As we were sitting down in a crowded restaurant and waiting for our food, two middle age Chinese girls came in and "dap tor" (Chinese saying for "sharing tables") with us. It's not the first time we shared a table with others and it is pretty natural in large restaurants among Chinese people as large tables can not usually be used at full capacity. Well, we each minded our own business and food orders without really approaching one another with comments. Then, the first steamed dishes came and the Chinese girls began to pray and thank God (Actually in Cantonese based on their Cantonese, it is Protestants prayer as Catholics have a different way of saying God). At first, it was fine, I've heard enough prayer and understood the practice, even if I don't share it. Then, the second dish came and again they prayed. Then, the third and fourth....You get the idea. It seemed odd, but it is not my practice, so I let it be. During the interlude, they kept exchanging pleasantries like I thank God for all the customers that we have at the Travel Agency or I thank God for the many (White people) who went down to New York in recent months. They laughed throughout the meal as I sat there drinking my green tea remaining calm externally, but enraged at the thoughts these girls had established. This exchange is why I don't like segments of modern Christianity or some of their Chinese adherents, they treat God as some sort of "eternal Santa Claus" without really thinking about why things fall into place or about the suffering of others in order for them to reach rewards. This is in effect Pride and Selfishness at its heart. For this I personally think Buddhist will probably reach heaven faster than Chinese Christians, even if you believe in Jesus Christ as your savior as long as you hold to such concepts of rewards without validation or acknowledgement of others, you are just lying to yourself. When I pray before a meal like Thanksgiving or Christmas, I do it with the suffering of others in mind over the past year in getting the raw materials like my Turkey or Chicken on a plate, or a slice of bread due to the drought that happened last year. It is to thank God for the miracles of weather, events, and luck coming together so I can have those meals, not a personal favor. The thing that really got to me was how these girls were reacting to the high amount of people taking their buses down to New York to visit family. Do they not realize that these people went down due to the Hurricane and human suffering? Thanking God for that is not what Christians should be doing and if everyone believes that is what Christianity truly is, then it is no wonder why more than half of American no longer believe. Maybe it's just me being angry over a few ditzy girls, but I just cannot hold my outrage in. I also cannot fathom how Christianity has devolved to the point that people do not realize that their profit was not generated by God's good graces, but someone else's suffering. That's my rant...

As first, it sounds like a naval exercise gone wrong. My first though is that the incident weakens the US foreign policy position in the pacific in the big picture as well. It seems strange that as China is having territorial disputes with both the Philippines and Japan, who are both backed by US naval forces; a US ship would run aground in an area notoriously known from history (I am a huge history guy and the Battle of Leyte Gulf is one of the most interesting naval battles of in history, being the last time major surface fleets actually faced each other in open battle).

Hey SF guys are trying to do it in the reverse order, first you win the Super Bowl, then win the MLB world series, which you need to wait 90 years for Can't wait to see the Ravens-Pats rematch, if it is as close as everyone say, it will be epic. So when are you making a pilgrimage to the Holy sites, like the divine Castro Street Hope they take the NFC title, too

Interesting SF may rename airport after Harvey Milk
W_L posted a blog entry in Life is worth an entry
http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/15/travel/san-francisco-harvey-milk-airport/index.html?hpt=hp_bn10 Nothing groundbreaking or politically charged, at least for gay guys. It seems interesting that the SF airport may be renamed after one of the first openly gay politician in the US. It's also a good sign for international recognition in small ways that SF is open to all walks of life. (Though Boston is still a good alternative ). Who knows, maybe Boston Logan Airport will be renamed the Gerry Studd airport as the current name stems from a Spanish American War officer (Seriously, airplanes were barely created, I don't understand how people named stuff in the 1950's after non-sequitor persons from 50 years prior to them). Just some fluff as a blog entry, I won't touch the gun control debate with a stick, nor will I open any new can of worms as I got enough problems with my writer's block.
