  1. Sometimes, when you browse through the web and learn new stuff about every day things, it makes you just a little more cynical. It can be political, social, economic, cultural, or even as simple guy or girl on youtube. This news story just made me a little more cynical today: http://eatocracy.cnn.com/2012/04/04/slavery-free-chocolate/?hpt=hp_c2 Buying organic and expensive chocolate (the article was a marketing plug with sentiment), or else you might end up with chocolate made from child slave labor. I get the point, but it makes my choices in life that much more unhappy. Anyone else have a cynical thing they want to share?
  2. Well, the Huskies at least showed class after a mean dogfight last year http://www.aolnews.com/2011/04/05/27-uconn-fans-arrested-in-championship-celebration/ They only flipped over 1 car, burned a few dumpsters, and torched a couch : But where's the guy who got shot Matt, I didn't see that story afterward.
  3. Hmmm, 90's Pokemon (Red, blue, and yellow, can't believe no one mentioned Pikachu) Super Mario Sonic the Hedgehog 1/2/3D + Knuckles Close Combat (PC game) Command and Conquer Civilizations 3 + Sid Meier Alpha Centauri + Alien Crossfire (love this franchise, he should make a sequel. I consider this a separate series from the Civ franchise) Masters of Orion Total War Sim city 00's Grand Theft Auto Saints Row Medal of Honor Modern Warfare Uncharted Assassins Creed Battlefield Supreme Commander Sins of a Solar Empire Any other Gaymers Plus the game that revolutionized 3D gaming as we know it: Homeworld (I've got the soundtrack for a long time now. It is perhaps the best musical score for any video game in my memories)
  4. I never watch the WNBA, sorry Krista. If viewership was higher, then maybe pay would be higher.
  5. (Prays for ncaa to change rules soon) Personally i want basketball based around teams (bill w. We share the same thoughts) rather than power players. There's a camaraderie in teams and respect that the sport used to have before the game went for the big guns approach. While epic players like bird and Johnson rivalry will always exist, the greatness of the game is in its teams.
  6. The Kentucky guys will just pack up and get drafted (into the NBA now )
  7. If anyone wants to vent some anger from Duck Hunt at the dog that laughed at you, here's the chances: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CC0QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.i-mockery.com%2Fminimocks%2Fduckhunt%2F&ei=GUN6T4qWOsfc0QGnkdG9Aw&usg=AFQjCNFz6Xyi1b6hO10GT_rhPSjqVF4KjQ&sig2=IewtaZGd06RSG8KS1TtPig Take him down gangster style
  8. While I love the Celtics, I grew up with the Bulls and Jordan, (By the way, I don't like how the media was all over his face with the management versus players bit, Jordan might have been a supporter of the players in 1998-99 season, but it's 13 years later and he's the owner of the Bobcats.) So glad that they are doing good, watching them now face off against the rockets. Edit: Darn, why can't I watch them win ? It was so good build up until the end.
  9. hehe! Nice stuff Blue, I'd planned out most of it knowing what I do about taxes, but the list also shows me that I should probably head to that nice cabin in the Canadian wilderness Although, I do wonder, how do the rich and powerful live their lives? I mean I doubt Warren Buffet needs to ditch his haunts (He actually keeps his table at a particular restaurant for decades even after he hit top 10 richest). Bill Gates doesn't have that same issue. Nor did Steve Jobs (according to his biography). Maybe, the rule to the story is that you don't need to live life as a hermit, but simply know that you are no longer going to live life like a regular person anymore.
  10. For those of us old enough to remember the 90's, Duck hunt was the first real interactive game, I think most of us had played. (There's nothing like shooting down pixels) After that, it was a mix of arcade games and Dance Dance Revolution (DDR, remember guys, it used to be cool, now it's old news.) Now, we've gotten to Nintendo Wii, Xbox Kinetic, Playstation motion, and new systems have their version of interactive game play as an additional hardware attachment for the foreseeable future. . I don't know how much more they could go, unless they can construct whole environment with interactivity through your personal movements, then it would just be a replica of Star Treks Holodecks, without all the moral dilemmas and such.
  11. I'll go for it. Nothing like watching big sweaty guys on ice with long sticks. :
  12. My dream is to eventually own a tricked out Alienware Laptop with the latest i7 and Nvidia video card with 16 GB ram. The perfect system is still a powerful custom PC, but alienware comes as close to the mark without personal purchases.
  13. Seriously, I was surprised, when I started looking at the stats for seeing who may make the playoffs. I really don't pay attention to teams outside my interest, Boston, New York, LA (Lakers only, hate the clippers), Miami, and San Antonio. How did they get so many wins? Do they have a new team dynamic? A new player? Anyone here been watching the Bulls games?

    PC Games

I like or play most of the games you guys mentioned. My favorite though is for a sim: Sim City and sim city 2000 I wish they'd come out with a new one, it's been too long since Sim city 2000 came out. I want to send out my UFO's to destroy the suburban neighborhoods or place a Tornado on the interstate Have you guys ever tried to connect your simcity game with sim copter. I've got an autographed collectors edition of the game from the developer. I am not sure how much it is worth to gamers, but it's one of my prized possessions. Edit: Just scrolled up on my droid and saw Myr and Andy's love for destruction.
  15. I thought this was the last one as the end of the world storyline was supposed to end December 21st 2012 (both in game and out ) The developers were saying that they wanted the third game to come out before the self mandated end date.
  16. I only play a few games on my PS3 nowadays, but my PC is now the prime choice. There's just more options in PC computing power than there is on a console. I have stuck with the playstation for a long time ever since I gave up my Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64. My friends own the X-Box 360, but we share and buy games (Outside Halo, I usually play Madden with them). I think Halo basically made the console, because it is probably the only thing that gets me into Xbox versus my PS3 as time has gone on. Graphically, you can see that the Xbox is not aging gracefully and the PS3 is now starting to come into its prime. Sony made a mistake from a business standpoint to give so much computing power to the PS3 so early. (it's like a kid hitting puberty at age 10 and other kids laugh at him in the locker room for being so tall and big down there. Well, now let's compare size and maturity in 2012 ) As for controllers, I like my PS3 controller much more: sleek, clean, and simple to use. The D-Pad and camera direction on the ps3 controller is prime for a quick shooting battle or to check you 9 O'Clock for flanking.
  17. Actually, I wouldn't mind if they do something like Uncharted 4, where Drake finds EL Dorado (the mythic city of gold) or Atlantis (perhaps the most famous place that people have been hunting for over two hundred years). I mean, the guy spends a fortune going around the world and usually ends up with little to show for his troubles other than a gun wound and a kiss from Elena. I know Uncharted 3 was awesome (The sinking ship was the best level I have played in a long time, both visually and joy stick happy), but I just don't want it to end. Still, ASC3 will be epic, hopefully ubisoft can outdo themselves and make a game that will be a strong finisher for the series.

    Favorite Genre

I think I got hooked on survival horror, when I started playing Fatal Frame (seriously Japanese ghost everywhere and all you got is a freaking camera, at least in resident evil or dead space I had a real weapon). It still give me goosebumps even today. Anyone else want to share.
  19. ASC3 definitely for me, too. I've been following the series, since the first one on PS3. The American Revolution would be cool place to have a game, maybe we will learn that the evil Templar knights are actually free masons (not that surprising if you read Dan Brown's new novel ). Actually, the free masons seem more like a derivative of the assassins to be honest with their ideology, but who knows what plot points it will be. I wonder, how the new hidden blade work, or will they also include a hidden lady pistol for silent single shot kills? Halo 4, hmm, am I up for playing another 36 hours straight to finish the campaign, hell yeah I am hoping they'll come out with a new Uncharted 4, soon. It is one of the few games that the PS3 has that makes it worth the price tag.
  20. Wohoo! someone pass me the pint of beer and some peanuts. Trevor's Sport's Bar sounds good with Trevor being the muscle out front. Wished this place was here at the start of march madness, we could have had our own GA brackets. Hey Yang, pass the buffalo wings.
  21. Just thought these were funny things to think about and the last one got me rolling on the floor: http://www.metro.us/...illions-jackpot If you read it, I wonder how many people here would do any of these things:
  22. James, do I detect an amateur astronomer in there? I've dabbled in astronomy a little, but my eyesight is far too poor to make out stars with a regular telescope without computer enhancements for recording. And yes, it is zen to think about how these supernovas will eventually become stellar nurseries after they die. They will help grow new star systems and maybe even planetary systems as the debris cools and form planets. That Simba is the circle of life!
  23. You forgot proxima centauri, but you're right larwain. It is more of a future interest than current, they still got a lot of fuel left. However i would love to know what happens to binary systems if a star goes nova along with their neighbors interaction.
  24. Which is why Alpha Centauri would make an interesting bang? (Not to mention its a binary star system, so double your bang for double the buck ) Newton laws of motion works until space is curved and fun gets started as gravity is in play, when stars play pool on a round slanted table. @hh5 There are a lot of particles/waves going off in a supernova. X-Rays and Gamma rays are just the tip of the iceberg, but since it's that far away, we're not going to get hit with killer radiation.

    March Madness

Well, we have some easy suspects: Kansas and Kentucky (check both were in my final fours) Then, some ugly surprises: Ohio and Louisville (Never toy with your brackets after you made them, why didn't I see Louisville coming, I mean Ohio state was a blind side mistake due to the last few games, but Louisville was a slugger all season.) So, who wants to see a Kentucky cage match? My bracket is toast, now I am watching for entertainment and seeing both Kentucky teams face off would be fun.
