Hope is what makes life worth living. I waited a while to come out fully to my family, but my sister knew when she saw my gay porn stash on our PC when I was 15 and she was 13. She is cool with it and we both have a pretty open talk about life and boyfriends now. It's different with a brother, but deep down he probably does care about you, no matter what. Being gay is hard, being in the closet is harder, when you are out finally it is a freeing experience unlike any other.

I was chatting with some friends on facebook and got an interesting idea if things do go sour for LGBT in affected areas. What if a new underground railroad was set up to help runaway gay kids find safe havens in states like Massachusetts or California. My first thought on this, it is basically illegal to help a child under the age of consent to run away from his/her family, so I pointed out that if this were our solution, we'd likely face some jail time just like traditional abolitionists back in the 19th century with runaway slaves. If people aren't scared by jail, it will likely cause other logistical problems, who will take care of these kids? Can youth centers have enough funding to support this kind of operation? On the level of a writer, I think it's a marvelous plot device, a 21st century underground railroad with stations, conductors, and peer leaders linked with social media (Think my story 0's and 1's and Harriet Tubman). I think I will try to draw up ideas on how this kind of underground network would need to start up and run, what type of resources would be demanded, and potentially what will be its hazards, because we can't always hope for perfect human beings or idealized causes. Well before I return to the Pit tomorrow, I should tell you my vote: So, here's it is, I voted for ...Gary Johnson. I can't vote for Clinton and I cannot support Donald Trump even in spirit. Why did I not choose either candidate and instead chose a guy who has been ridiculed for his lack of foreign policy experience? Reality is, I believe in something beyond just candidates and the current election. Despite all his flaws, Gary Johnson is one thing that neither Clinton or Trump is: He is genuine fool and freely admits his lack of knowledge. A humble leader who admits his flaws is better than a corrupt leader or an self-centered leader who blame the other side for their faults. We as a country and as society have stopped believing in the American Dream, stop believing that we can do better, and stop believing in the hopes and dreams that we consider our values and principles. I have been asked by friends and colleagues over and over the last few months, "If you don't vote Trump, you are letting Liberals take the Supreme Court?", or "if you don't vote Clinton, you are letting him deport 11 million people", "Voting Clinton means you must want babies to die", and "voting Trump means you must want white supremacy to rise as an institution again in America". My answer to all of them, including GA members here on this board and my readers, ENOUGH Who among you believe Donald Trump is going to honestly choose a Supreme Court Justice from his "supposed" list, when he even ignores his VP pick Mike Pence on policy? The man has no real "value" set aligned with him, he was Pro-Choice, then turned Pro-Life for this election, Pro-Planned Parenthood, and then anti-planned parenthood when he needs to cater to Conservative voters. Same goes with his stance on guns. The only truth about him, he values loyaly, so whoever he "dos" choose as Supreme Court justice must be loyal to him, not principles and not values. Who among you believe Hilary Clinton will rein in the Wall Street Banks, when she is getting millions in outside money from them? The millions of dollars in her coffers right now from Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and other wall street bankers are clear reasons why it can't happen. Oh and the Gun Rights issue, Donald Trump got a supporter who yelled "gun" in Reno, Nevada event after a Democrat protester tried to wave an anti-Trump poster, then he hid behind a bunch of Secret Service agents "with a lot of guns protecting him" just like he used his bravado to chide against Hilary, remember "I wish she would just get rid of all those guys around her with guns and see how tough she really is". However, what is most damning about this incident, Nevada is a Pro-2nd Amendment state, so yes people can freely conceal carry with a permit. I am Pro-2nd Amendment like many other Conservatives and Libertarians, but Donald Trump who espoused colorful rhetoric on the trail about "if everyone had a gun, I'd feel completely comfortable", just walked back on it. It's freaking Nevada, people have guns there, they have lots of guns there, and Trump events have guns, so if a Democratic protester is scary with a gun, why are the other thousand people in the same venue any different? The Secret Service has not indicated any guns were found on the Democratic Protester, too, so this was all a stunt. Reality check, Donald Trump was an ex-Democrat and once was Hilary Clinton's friend, he doesn't honestly believe in the rhetoric of "mutual" defense in gun ownership or gun safety by American people. After the event, his spin doctors called it an assassination attempt, when no gun was found on the Democratic protester. As for my more religious friends, I argue this point with them, you are damning yourselves to a poor decision based on realism rather than faith and honest values. During the Early Christian era, Jesus' followers could have easily gone and sided with the Republican Roman Senate faction or Caesar's factions in a bid to gain political and social authority. However, if they had done that, if Jesus Christ was just a politician, Christianity would have been a footnote like both factions in the Roman Civil War, which has long been forgotten now. When they talk to me about Faith and values, I don't see these guys truly believing in faith or values. True values are eternal, true faith is eternal. What is right is eternally right, because wihout those beliefs and principles to live by, you are merely corrupting anything. If you believe in voting for the lesser of two evils, then you have already lost your principles and have accepted the corruption that permeates society with a choice for either Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton. You can't blame Republicans or Democrats for destroying America as it is your own fault to make such a determination. You can't make a deal with the Devil and call foul, when he comes to collect. I voted for my conscience, I voted for America, the America I want, not the America that others say I must choose. To sum it all up: People say, "you must choose the lesser of two evils for what the system and world is right now", I say "Why can't you build a better world by voting today without evil".

I didn't know that Male birth control had advanced to that level, nor did I know we have similar side effects. It's good news for all the women, who suffer through it that men are susceptible to the same.

Through the Hooded Bridge Part IV: The Horror in Truth As a shout out, I want to thanks Kitt again for the marvelous job of editing she did for this story. Now onto the main event, can you imagine seeing the end of the world in a perfect 3D image from something like an Oculus Rift or a HTC Vive system. Photo-realistic images have been around for a decade and 3D video for at lest 2-3 years in mass consumption, so a 3D video from a drone is not that far off in our future and I recall watching some documentaries where researchers already employs similar extreme condition drones for scientific reporting. Beyond just the science or actual hardware, I think a picture in this case is worth a thousand words or almost 4 thousand. Desolate cities and hellish landscapes, watching the world burn itself away due to mankind's own transgressions and our own foolish behaviors, its a shock. Adam can't come to grip with the futility of the scenes, nor can he live with the knowledge of surviving this Apocalyptic future. Afterward, his mind is jumbled and guilt ridden even more so than before. In a way, you can see what I was aiming at with Adam's character, he's a man of Conscience and a conscience is a double edged sword, we may think we're doing good by our values and beliefs, but it could easily be wrong in different contexts. In the end, it was the same issues of conscience that led the world to end in fire as humanity burned ourselves out of history along with the rest of this world in a haze of dust and fiery scenes. The ending scenes in the lab is a repudiation of something you guys may find weird about my thought process. If this world is akin to "Paradise", I could easily have gone the traditional Judeo-Christian root and have Adam "cast out" like his name sake ( ), but instead I wanted Adam to stay behind and take responsibilities, while his former friends ran off to their fate. (By the way, I did warn in this chapter and earlier that there were reasons why you can't cross the wormhole/bridge without assistance or training including magnetic interference) By letting Adam be left behind , I am repudiating the Biblical sin of Pride by offering a contrast with responsibility and acceptance. Humanity is in such a rush to go off and run with emotions, sometimes being left behind to contemplate is far better than to go off. For this world to survive, its society must not live under the same tragedies as humanity, it cannot run away from its mistakes. Adam did break a lot of rules in the end, but he did do something right that proved he could be a member of this community at some point, he stopped running away from his mistakes and confronted his errors with humility. Anyway, that's the miniseries, it's a mix of sci-f and horror, love and regret, and it has some new features I am adding to storytelling.

Through the Hooded Bridge Part 3: The Arcology (aka. Why did all this happen?) An Arcology is an interesting concept, some of you, like me played SimCity 2000, remember this as the ultimate achievement in the game if you can build a city to the level of creating Arcologies that can house thousands of people with all the necessary elements of industrial, commercial, and even agricultural use combined together in one structure. I am also introducing the Triumvirs: Edwin, an elderly gay man in 60's of the Stonewall Generation, Kayla, a Middle Age Lesbian woman in her 50's of the HIV/AIDS generation, and Andy, a bisexual trans-male of the 90's. Each of them have their own stories, their own outlooks on life, and different views as they represent the greater world of this story. Edwin is a foil to Adam, he was one of the many teens kicked out for his sexuality living on the streets of New York in the 1960's and his outlook on life is shaped both by what happened at Stonewall and the future crisis of AIDS. Beyond that, the deep social and political questions that Edwin raises about our modern Gay Rights and what we really have achieved versus what we set out to achieve are questions few people ask among our community. Was Gay Marriage or Non-Discrimination Rights we gained or are they merely dog treats from groups of people who pull on our leash, when they need a few more votes? Many of the laws protecting LGBT right now are interpretation laws from Courts, not real written down laws or codes of conduct that people have agreed to. In addition, all of those rights have a normal counterpart in standard society, i.e. "Traditional" marriage and anti-discrimination benefits from other groups under protection of society's leadership. In every election cycle, in every change of a seat on a Court, we stand to lose everything with the mindset of a few people. To Edwin, our LGBT movement has become pets to a set of masters, because without them we cannot hope to survive. We also must obey them and be less "true" to our nature and conform to the nature as our masters have deemed acceptable in society. In essence, he believes we have failed and LGBT people now live as pets, not equals, in society. On the flip side, what he has created in this world is a nearly Liberated society. Rights of attachments are not given by laws or government, but by relationships between individuals, groups of individuals, and society in common integrated society. There are fewers prohibitions, fewer needs for compromise, it is a world of equals. Even from groups not represented, they are not forgotten nor are they taken for granted in every day life. Normalization and Liberation play an important role in understanding characters within this story, along with their drives. And the big reveal about the future, it is a tragedy built by human actions, we keep fighting over and over again for the same things thinking we can create new results without learning lessons from our past or ignoring them. In the 21st century, we just compound our issues of fears and bigotry; in the end, if we destry ourselves, we deserve the hell at the end of the day. In that backdrop, what these guys have created makes a lot of sense, perhaps to shed even more light on it, I'd say I am proposing a Queer version of Trans-humanist thinking. As a society, they chose to leave the past sins of Humanity behind them, they sought to build a world together without those issues, but in order to do it, they must sacrifice their own humanity and allow the world to end as it seems destined to I have one more important part to this story, then it is it for the first miniseries I have ever written. I am a Sci-Fi writer, both near term and far future, the horror I write is one of the human condition and our own faults that lead to outcomes like the world you are about to see in Part 4.

Here's some Author's Thoughts just a movie director's/actor's commentary on my newest story: Through the Hooded Bridge Part I: Rites of the Fall I think some people remember wild times, if they went to college. Parties, alcohol, drugs, sex, and just the freedom of the moment without a care in the world. In this opening segment, which will tie back to the ending sequences in terms of logical progression, it is like the farewell hurrah for all the promises and joys before you enter a "winter" of despair. That's a part of growth and aging, not just for kids who know their adulthood is coming, but also for the whole of humanity as we progress towards our own seasons of development. This is as much a reflection of Modern Civilization as it a character story. Also, my choice in the use of Last Rites was not taken out of context, it is a foreshadowing and a forewarning. Part II: Old Memories in a New World The main character Adam is a modern mainstream gay man trying to adjust to an ideal world for LGBT people. He is suspicious and he is full questions of what has lingered within human beings in recent times, just as Dickens would claim Want and ignorance were the sins of the 19th Century, I would claim doubt and uncertainty are the sins of the 21st Century. You will see Adam try to find issues, fear the worst outcomes, and basically offer some understandably bias beliefs based on modern social norms. In this chapter, we explore one version of an ideal LGBT New World, based around 1970's LGBT Liberation philosophy rather than 1980-90's LGBT normalization philosophy. You can see the difference of what Adam is trying to understand and what these people are living with. I also have a strong subplot of Adam as a gay character trying to reconcile sexual desire with social norms from our world, while adjusting to a world that through our norms out the window. Adam's guilt is not due to his cheating being caught, it is a sincere guilt that he may lose someone he loves. I came up with the concept by a fluke of chance as my original idea was just to put Adam in a Twilight zone world, but it occurred to me to look backwards and see how the pre-AIDS/HIV generation of LGBT thinkers were thinking of their future world. It's a more communal philosophy, less inhibition for sexuality, and an open setting of relationships.You will see aspects of the earlier LGBT philosophy among our older writers more, who had been influence by this concept. Part 2 introduces my first ever gay trans-male character and an open discussion about the realities of trans gay males, who face many challenges in their relationships and deep divides. To be gay is to love people of the same gender identity, does it matter if they were born with a dick or if they grew it later in life with the help of science? Or, ou can reverse that and ask is a trans female without male organs in a relationship with a biological female any different than two biological females in a relationship? The answer is no in my view, but it may be different for most of you.
