  1. Post some funny commercials your teams from all sports have done for advertising: Here's Tom Brady showing off his "Bling" while doing a health care comercial:
  2. I just found out today 2 more co-workers I know have ADHD. Has anyone ever asked the question, why do so many adults and kids seem to suffer from this illness? I mean, many kids are hyperactive and so are many adults, but what makes this condition so prevalent in modern times? Is it merely diagnostics? or is it a technicality?
  3. Being gay does not make me any less a human being than anyone else, same as being Asian, Blind, or being a High IQ guy. If you approach the world looking for uniqueness for yourself, you will find it rather lonely. If you approach the world, looking for commonality, everyone has points of intersection somewhere, even antagonistic relationships have to intersect. You are only a minority if you choose to view yourself as a minority, if you do not want to expand your horizons beyond what society defines or what your biology defines. Being gay, non-white, Smart, or disabled are not choices, but living my life as I choose is. Beyond all that we are alive right here and now and can make your own life and set a course for our own destinies.
  4. Want an Asian traveling companion, who is fed up with his life of monotony and longs for adventure, intrigue, and suspense that he had in his early 20's We could be like Hirschfeld and Ling Matt, I know the feeling, I like to think of myself as a well traveled soul, I've been in the halls of power, help make laws, help break laws, fought for what I believed was right and defend things I disagree with personally, and lived a middle class quiet existence. I am nearing 30, my life is long from being over, but I can feel the age of responsibility now on my back, too. My best advice, don't just stick to one area if you want to expand your horizon, if you like teaching, why not attempt adult training instead of childhood education. It's not just physical therapy, there's people and schools out there that teaches disabled people how to live without eyes, ears, and limbs in normal workplaces. Some of it is technical education with new equipment/software, other is cognitive education with advanced techniques like using vibration or mental associations with concepts. You have a lot to offer the world, don't forget that Matt. Your friend and Fellow New Englander, WL
  5. It's March 14th, Pi Day, so I want to celebrate with a cute catchy tune
  6. Sweet! I just had an LoTr fangasm
  7. I had to open up my old calculus book again, damn I wish I had this in high school and college, it combines my old teenage fondness of Adele and Math:
  8. Jurassic Park, plus its ripoffs It's good science though, we could eventually repopulate a lot of extinct species or even pierce the veil of mortality itself with these experiments. As I said, what mankind ultimately wants to achieve is probably akin to a state immortality or even mythic god-like abilities like a Greek fable. It is not a matter of if we can do it, but rather a question of how soon and should we do it? Based on the last few centuries, I don't know if we are mature enough to hold such power yet. A Mammoth hybrid in two years, a genetically perfect child in 10 years, and who knows what else. The future is not too far ahead of us and we should all be able to see what will come about that was once only science fiction.
  9. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2121503-can-we-grow-woolly-mammoths-in-the-lab-george-church-hopes-so/ This is really cool, think of it, it's like Jurassic Park. I didn't even think we've gotten far enough in genetic engineering to try for something like this. Plus, the researcher is local, Harvard University is only a few blocks away, so maybe I can get a close look at science in action (plus the first steps of Man transcending natural bounds ) Remember that scene where Hammond was explaining how the dino's were made by using DNA of extinct animal with a close relative, Michael Crichton was at least 3 decades ahead of his time, but the science is theoretically possible. I can't wait to see the hybrid Elephant/Mammoth, I hope they name him Manny
  10. It's Animaniacs, I don't think they were specific
  11. I've read the Tamir triad and I think sexual/gender fluid literature is a good way to approach some of the complex issues of identity beyond just classifying LGBT continuum alone, nor can queer easily evoke the range of love and attachment human beings are capable of forming
  12. Who remembers this from their childhood: Thank you Wacko for helping me pass my 50 state geography quiz in 3rd grade

    The Real Me

Where have all the good men gone And where are all the gods? Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn And I dream of what I need -Bonnie Tyler, I Need a Hero (Stanza 1:1-6) My name is Herman Steel. I used to be a superhero, when I had my powers. Back then, I could leap tall buildings in a single bound, run like a bullet, and fly like a jet fighter. I was nearly invulnerable
  14. Can a hero fool himself to let injustice reign in a world dominated by apathy?
  15. One part of a Pi right
  16. I am not just hitting on Drew, seriously I am on a math binge: This is an awesome song/math pun all on triangles For gay dorks and their nerdy suitors
  17. Physics: Did you have to model a wave or a particle?
  18. Dreaming of you, not sure why I have so much longing :
  19. Let me just finish the proof: a x b + c = c x b -a b= a +1 c= a + 2 Expressed as a a(a + 1) + a + 2 = (a + 2)(a + 1) - a a^2 + a + a + 2 = a*2 + a + 2a + 2 -a a^2 + 2a + 2= a^2 +2a +2
  20. So I've proven that Left and Right can equal out in perfect harmony, at least in this instance "Wink" Drew "Wink"
  21. Weird blog entry, I was just trying to figure something in my head and a sequence of equations came to my mind. 1 x 2 +3 3 x 2 - 1 Both would equal 5 right. So I thought, pretty cool coincidence, why not test it out on other sequential numbers: 2 x 3 +4 4 x 3 -2 Equal 10 3 x 4 + 5 5 x 4 - 3 Equals 17 4 x 5 +6 6 x 5 - 4 Equals 26 5 x 6 + 7 7 x 6 -5 Equals 37 6 x 7 + 8 8 x 7 -6 Equals 50 .... It keeps working out I know this is a mathematics proof of some kind, but what did I just stumble across set "a" multiplied by following set "b" plus following set "c" = set "c" multiplied by preceding set "b" minus preceding set "a" a x b + c = c x b - a as long as it is a whole set sequence
  22. An oldie
  23. Nasa's "actual" news conference today: Nasa's 'holy grail': Entire new solar system that could support alien life discovered We found some new earth-like worlds, finally. Even if they don't support alien life or complex alien life, if there is an oxygen/hydrogen atmosphere, we should probably consider them a good backup colony site for a generational expedition. It's like house hunting, Mars is a fixer upper within the neighborhood, and these guys maybe perfect suburban two story with a yard
  24. This is the song that represents my 29 year old life:
  25. Happy Birthday Curti! :D
