    Chapter 6

Many of those without Honorable Discharges (ie ‘Less Than Honorable’ or ‘Dishonorable’) have very few resources. They don’t qualify for Vet benefits and services. They may also have PTSD, but no where to turn for help.

Welcome, Candy Cane land! If you haven’t yet, check out the Topic for this story (the link has been posted in several of the Comment sections in previous chapters). We have even more fun commenting and speculating there. Join us! And then start exploring @Mikiesboy’s other stories. They cover all sorts of genres including post-apololyptic (After the Past) and sentient amphibians (The Promise). But there have been a few that are indefinable too! ;–)

    Chapter 6

Many people who have been institutionalized go through periods of homelessness. Many kids in care are not given the support and resources necessary to succeed in life. People who have been imprisoned may have served their time, but society doesn’t really forgive them for having been convicted and they often have a difficult time finding jobs.
  4. It just occurred to me that those from out-of-state might not realize that Del Norte County is not pronounced the way you’d expect with California’s Spanish heritage. Apparently Italian immigrants pronounced it ‘del Nort’ rather than del Norté. On the other hand, the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station is pronounced with the extra syllable. ;–)
  5. If he shaved his face, Jeremy would work for me. He’s barely tall enough – at 5’7” he’s about the same height as I am. The rest of his description matches my list well. ;–) If he’s not interested in Mason (yeah, I know how unlikely that is!), could you send him down to the Bay Area, please? ;–)

    Chapter 8

While I might not turn my back on Mickey like @jaysalmn, I almost certainly wouldn’t take him back the way it’s implied he promised. I’m inclined to agree with @Wesley8890. Mickey burned his bridges when he walked off with Sean. Marilyn is still trying to direct Mickey’s life for him. She means well. But if Mark restarts his relationship with Mickey, there will always be a third person in the middle. :–(

You might want to add a little note at the beginning of this chapter mentioning the Notification snafu… ;–)

I’m pretty sure I mentioned the fact that I wanted to read more about the two. I know I’ve mentioned characters from those stories several times after they were completed. I don’t have a lot of hope that my desires will be fulfilled though, knowing of your reluctance to write sequels. ;–)

    Chapter 6

Why do I get the feeling that JJ will be fostered too? Maybe by Kate & Steve, but maybe by someone else like John. Homelessness and fostering are related states. The biggest difference is usually the age of the person involved since governments don’t usually feel compelled to take care of adults the same way they feel obligated to care for children. ;–) They need to introduce Danny to Kevin & Ian. Having older role models would be very useful for a Gay teen. The fact that they are accepted as a couple by the people at The Boot will be very reassuring. ;–)

Never say never, he has done at least one! ;–) There are so many possibilities here. Stravor & Keter would push Sam out of the top slot on my list of hoped-for sequels from Tim! But there’s also a post-apocalyptic sequel in the running… ;–)

    Chapter 31

I guess describing the boys as envoys reduces the focus on them as individuals. At least if they appearance hadn’t been heavily promoted for Graham Norton’s show. Never having been to the UK, I don’t know how the show is advertised there. There will be plenty of other attention given to them as a couple in the future. Where are Cap’n Jack and Torchwood when you need them? ;–)

Maybe someone should have told @Dodger he's driving on the wrong side of the street again! ;–) Of course, they should have taken out the extra controls before they sold him that driver training car first! ;–)

Clearly Justin Trudeau’s mesmerization skills have prevented more readers from discovering your story. His preemptive strategy has been very effective. But maybe he should be concentrating on his political future a little more instead… ;–)

I would have been okay with a 12000 or 18000 word chapter! ;–)

Somehow I skipped over my Notification because I got it confused with all the chapter Comment Notifications… Trudeau must be blocking me or maybe he’s using his mesmerization spells to confuse the weak mind from the other CA! ;–) (I can’t retroactively add the quote with its attribution properly.)

That… was not at all what I expected! And now we all wait another seven days to find out what happened! My only consolation is that the crowd impatiently waiting for the next chapter has swollen considerably with what we’ve just read. We’d be camping outside for days in advance in an undisclosed secret location somewhere in the Greater Toronto Metro area if we only knew where to set up our gear – hundreds of thousands, just needing to be the first to learn of Keter & Stravor’s fates! I hear Canadian immigration is now checking for GA membership in an attempt to reduce the numbers of The Searcher readers who are inundating their offices with immigration and tourism requests. Airbnb hosts are now able to demand CA$100,000/night fees for a tent in a backyard with a port-a-potty. PM Justin Trudeau is considering an emergency order demanding immediate release of future chapters to stop the panic! ;–) Either that or Trudeau will demand that the US pay for Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Redacted! Chapter 7

Thank you, @JeffreyL for Commenting. That made the chapter show up in my Notifications. I don’t know why it didn’t when it was first posted… I still believe these two guy don’t know each other very well and dating longer than a week might have given them a chance to have built a healthy foundation of trust. It feels to me that they haven’t really been communicating very well. Instant everything doesn’t bode well for strong relationships. I’m sure it does happen, but it’s incredibly rare.
  21. Do they put special booties on before the climb up on the tables? The AT&T guy did when he came into my apartment. And one of the dealers used to put a paper floor mat down when they serviced my car (I had expensive rubber floor mats protecting the carpeting so it wouldn’t have mattered even if they had greasy shoes).
  22. Was Monica Geller one of the chefs on staff? ;–)

    Chapter 30

It had been so long, I had forgotten about the Consortium! ;–) Maybe Graham’s people can set up a remote from the hotel so they can at least get the interview – with the bonus of Katrina sitting in! I’ve only seen one or two of his shows, so I don’t know how he handles these sorts of situations. Maybe BBC can send a certain someone to interview them for the evening news. ;–)
  24. I think we should be a little more forgiving of twenty-year-olds. Eric Stonestreet’s Cam is a stereotype, but there are Gay men who are very similar to the straight actor’s portrayal. And Bryan Singer has been accused of improper behavior by others. I can’t comment on his other statement because I don’t know what that was about and while I’ve heard of the guy, I’m not familiar with Colton Haynes (I keep thinking of a porn performer with the same first name, Colton Ford). I know I made some pretty uninformed comments when I was in my twenties, and have been known to stick my foot in my mouth on occasion even now! ;–)
