I suppose I’d rather have an affair with Dreyfuss than with Kiel! ;–)

Firstly... Why the fuck hasn't he brought up Jamie Cross' party invitation yet? I feel like Billy's going to drag it out until the eventual party date and force Brandon with an ultimatum that may not bode so well for their relationship. Secondly... A lot of people over the last few chapters have badmouthed Billy for his lack of maturity concerning his mother's stance on his relationship with Brandon. But the truth is he's come a long way to get to where he is with Brandon relationship-wise and Billy's mom is completely holding him back. Billy seems to glaze over the fact that how both he and his mother feel about his dad (and his departure), his mom forcing him to play nice with a man he hardly knew (all while she showed blatantly obvious interest in him without even considering how her son feels about the situation), and her forbidding him from spending any intimate time with his boyfriend are all completely separate issues. Sure he could have handled the way he treated the Mr. Franks situation a little better, but his mother is a grown woman. If she needs him for something, she could let him know beforehand and plan around his increasingly hectic schedule. Assuming it's to keep him from being with his boyfriend unsupervised, half of the stuff he's done over the summer didn't even include meeting up with Brandon (and that's outside of the days he had to work) so there isn't any reason for her to force such burdens on him during the time that he's supposed to be stress free and enjoying himself. She wouldn't even let him go to the hospital to see if his suicidal/depressed friend (at the time) hadn't done something stupid like try to kill himself again. And on top of that, she literally called him selfish so many times because he didn't want to waste his summer looking over a complete stranger fixing up her stuff. If she didn't trust him enough to leave him alone in the house while she was away, why let him in your home at all? If he works with you, why does he only ever work on the things that need to be fixed while you're not home? I just think that those reading this story and forming these harsh opinions haven't been paying quite as close attention as they think. Thirdly... As for Robin, I also see all these remarks about him possibly being a puppet in some harebrained scheme to trick Billy into cheating on his boyfriend thought up by the fuckboy AJ. But I mean, he could very well just want to mend his friendship with Billy, who hadn't been talking to him for quite some time. We don't always have to assume the worst about everyone. But for the sake of exploring all options, even if it turns out to be a seduction attempt, Billy wouldn't fall for it. He literally saw Sam with a boner when he was whining about how horny he was with his frigid Jesus freak of a girlfriend. And he turned him down. His best fucking friend. That, to me, shows more maturity and restraint than I ever would have thought he'd have. I mean, this is Sam we're talking about!!! And lastly... Regarding Jimmy, while I see no point in trying to argue with crazy, Billy could have had this whole situation over and done with by talking to him. "You keep saying you care about me, and you want to make things right, but you aren't showing me that you're telling the truth. And actions speak louder than words. You need to realize that Brandon and I are happy. We're a united front. All you and I will ever be is friends, I hate to be so blunt about it, but if you want to keep me in your life, that's what you'll have to settle for. Because I can't keep getting calls about broken windows or receiving texts with snapshots of my boyfriend and his ex. I already know what's going on with that whole situation, and that's Brandon and I's business. Not yours. Am I making sense? Is any of this getting through to you?" At the very least it will get rid of whatever rose tinted filter is stuck in front of Jimmy's eyes. It may even help to subside some of that rage. If he wants Billy in his life, he should be forced to play by Billy's rules or risk losing his companionship forever. But I'm afraid it may be too late for Billy to try to have that heart to heart.

Richard Dreyfuss?

No he didn’t! ;–)

Based on a hagis-fueled Scottish novel of the most Scottish type by Walter Scott, here is François-Adrien Boïeldieu's overture to La dame blanche (or the Woman in White)

Lesbians probably have very different ideas about the attractiveness of their romantic partners. Straight women often choose men that Gay men would reject (which might explain the phenomenon of disgusting straight men thinking that all Gay men want to have sex with them). Women tend to be less obsessed with physical attractiveness than men. ;–)
-
Apparently they were both family. Bruce Valance stated that she was discreetly Lesbian. Alexander’s love letters suggest that he was bisexual. ;–)

So you’re confirming that @Headstall will get his wish if he reads the story in chronological order rather than their posting order? ;–)

My nieces and nephews seem to have had the opposite effect on their parents! ;–)

I thought the real Fountain of Youth got drained to build Disney World or a new subdivision… ;–)

I thought the line was, “…together again for the first time!” ;–)

Didn’t we see Ariel getting shot by one of the special arrows? I remember two people glaring at the Cupid before they got distracted by each other. (Or am I getting characters confused again?) ;–)

I’m guessing he’s much more likely to be singing Ease on Down the Road than Follow the Yellow Brick Road! ;–)

An animal ruder, cruder, and more expressive than a bunny might leave their ‘calling card’ in the middle of the Big Kahuna’s desk! -
I did mention a few exceptions! ;–)

It wasn’t the right decision, but now we know why Ariel decided not to tell Diego about his new assignment. It would have been better to explain the rationale behind the change. But many men are less adept at these sorts of subtleties than most women (because of cultural expectations?). ;–)

I vote for huge, splashy stories on the slap in several gossipy tabloids, including the TV ones! ;–) -
The Weekend Before the Storm

My dad could cook a few things for us when my mother wasn’t feeling well, but neither he nor we would have wanted him cooking frequently. His gourmet meal was Spam with cloves in it. Otherwise it was scrambled eggs for dinner. At least no one starved. ;–) I was surprised when my Lesbian(?) Aunt made macaroni and cheese from scratch in the early Seventies! Until then, I’d only had it from the blue box with the nasty orange powder. We later discovered frozen macaroni and cheese. And I learned how to make a cheese sauce from scratch in the microwave – I used white cheddar and small shells in my version of macaroni and cheese. ;–) I love watching other people cook. If I were a faster learner, I could have learned how to cook lots of other things. My mother used to take cooking classes in Adult School. I should have kept some of those recipes she learned. My friends knew I love Lumpias and my friend’s mother and sister were making a big batch one evening when I was visiting. Her mother was describing the recipe as she was cooking, but not only was it all verbal, but there weren’t any exact measurements given. On a different occasion, a different friend was making Spanish Rice and Enchiladas. She had me helping her cook, and again, there were no exact measurements! There are a few things my mother used to make that I can kind of emulate, but most of the things she prepared were more complicated and labor-intensive than I want to deal with just for me. It might be different if someone else were eating with me. And it definitely would be different if I didn’t have to hand-wash everything myself! ;–) -
The Weekend Before the Storm

You guys have storms in the middle of summer, don’t you? We get the occasional summer rains in California (less than once a season), but they aren’t really storms. I remember a huge torrent in Texas when I visited once and I remember being rained on in Seattle, Delaware, and Chicago too, all during July or August. Considering how much rain was falling, I was shocked that the plane landed in Houston – it seemed like they were getting about as much rain as we get all year in one day. -
I’m glad you live in an area enlightened enough to allow you to foster kids. There are many places where they cut their nose off to spite their face and do extra harm to foster kids by not allowing all qualified and certified people to foster. They say kids are the most important thing and yet they do things that are counterproductive.

Have I ever suggested that you’re evil? There are plenty of GA authors that I read that I’d suggest were evil (too many cliffhangers, protagonists who choose the wrong partners, story arcs that go in the wrong direction, etc). And then there are the people on GA that I’ve had to block! ;–)

This chapter did everything it was supposed to do. It wrapped up all the loose ends. It gave us a peek at the trajectories of the characters. And it left us wanting more! You even promised that we’d see them in your other story! ;–)

A Secret You Already Know

The only reason Aidan can’t take the Big Kahuna to court over his homophobic comments is that there are still states in the US where you can legally be fired for being even suspected of being LGBTQ+. That and Aidan has no proof of the statements. Aidan’s coworkers are too cowed by their boss to stand up with him against the toxic atmosphere. It would be Aidan vs the Big Kahuna – and the boss seems to have no morals. It would be nice to slap the Big Kahuna upside the head with a huge lawsuit though! ;–) -
You are the champion of short chapters! It’s fitting that the final chapter of Freshman Year is short. We wouldn’t want to have it any other way. ;–)
