Ignore that ‘Alternative Earth’ tag! This story was more real and more grounded than any of those fantasy stories where all the straight boys are infected by the Gay virus and instantly fall in love with each other. Nothing happens in this story that clever kids couldn’t manage to do. Careful planning and detailed reconnaissance come together to create unexpected (by readers) results. Lucky readers will now be able to read the story as it was originally intended, without breaks. The chapters do make the story less intimidating to read, though. ;–) Maybe the ‘Alternative Earth’ tag refers to the possibility that the boys are watching a movie version of one of Geron’s other stories… ;–)

It’s always surprising to discover that your elders have not always been as you have always known them. Quite often, you only find out these sorts of deep, dark secrets after someone dies. Kelly is lucky to find out about his father’s history now! ;–)

I don’t smoke (or drink) and never have – I hate the stench. But everything I’ve read suggests that marijuana is much less harmful than cigarettes. The irrational objection to pot has wasted million, if not billions, of dollars and ruined many lives. California and other jurisdictions have legalized recreational use of weed, regulating and taxing its sale. This is a much more mature response to something that is much less harmful than alcohol and tobacco. But I still hate the smell! ;–)

In an ideal world, Darren is Stephanie’s Gay best friend and she’s bringing him home so he can talk to her Gay brother. ;–) But with Jack’s luck, Darren is a Gay basher or something. ;–) No, not really. Not in a Ronyx story! Authors don’t wait until the 6th chapter to introduce a villain, do they? ;–)

How dare you suggest that someone ignore Michael! The greatest little Dane on GA! Somewhere around the year 2040, when you post your most recent chapter of the story, you’ll realize that Michael has become Brother Denmark, complete with that little scruff! ;–)

Aidan is admitting to himself that he has feelings for Heathcliff – too bad he’s so afraid of Stone finding out. Of course, that would change the story completely too, and we don’t want that! ;–) They’re both just so horrible at communication! Maybe Heathcliff needs to try putting together a Keynote or Powerpoint presentation for his bunny. Speak to him in his language… ;–)

Well, there’s always the “It was all just a dream” excuse that Hollywood has used several times. Once to explain the return of a character they killed off the previous season (Dallas). Once for comedic effect in a series finale (Newhart). And then there’s the St Elsewhere series finale with an autistic boy (played by Chad Allen) who apparently imagined the entire series. -
