  1. So maybe if all of us readers give you enough ideas we’ll give you the parts for you to assemble into a new chapter? ;-) I think they should meet a thin, clean-shaven redhead, possibly in the hospital. ;-)

    Just Ryder

Ryder didn’t force his way into the Haner home! Teddy invited him in. He’s part of the family even if Harry, Oli, and he don’t realize it yet. ;-) Ryder, Oli, and Teddy all need each other. They each have something the others need. They each bring something unique to the mix. ;-) I’m wondering how Ryder, Teddy, Blake, and Mike will interact together. The very tense scene with Oli, but missing Mike doesn’t bode well for the high school friends. Liz is another piece of the puzzle, albeit currently in the background and angry for now. ;-)

    Chapter 9

I’ll be willing to donate some of mine! ;-)
  4. @Timothy M. I think you should have her facing some sort of minor emergency and be forced to turn to her neighbors for help. It would be interesting for her to find that her behavior has turned them all against her. But Patrick, being Patrick would assist her nevertheless! ;-)

    Chapter 9

TJ just can’t catch a break! Any store that’s open all night and sells alcohol knows that people are going to try to steal it! It’s especially likely to happen in the neighborhood where TJ and Carter live! But I remember a suburban Pak ’n Save (Safeway’s warehouse grocery store) in an average town that changed its hours because of liquor thefts – it had been open 24 hours, but started closing at 2am when the bars close and the alcoholics are forced onto the streets. It shows TJ’s naiveté that he wasn’t street-smart enough to know that you go in large groups and split up to distract the employees…

    Chapter 9

Send him a PM! ;-) But do you like scary clown movies? Do you like being cried on (even if it means getting mascara smears on your shoulders)? How many kids do you want to have? Are you a strapping young man on a motorcycle? ;-)
  7. What is the job of the Companion? To excite adolescent young men? To scream, run, and be the viewer’s surrogate? To pretend to be a junior Time Lord? To feed your sexual fantasies? As a Gay man, I was attracted to Rory and Turlough (but hated Turlough’s personality). I also liked Adric, but I was’t attracted to him – his pajama outfit was embarrassing too! Oh, and Cap’n Jack! (The latter two were portrayed by Gay men.)
  8. I liked Martha Jones! ;-)
  9. When did Who crossover with Marvel? She’ll need a much better costume to run with Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana! What an odd combination! ;-)
  10. But even best-selling authors like James Clavell do it! His characters in Shogun acted very uncharacteristically for the era and, more importantly, the culture. It was entertaining, but not historically accurate, I know and have known many Mexican-Americans, seen many Mexican movies, and live in an area that used to be Mexican territory. I even lived less than 20 miles from Mexico! But I cannot claim to understand Mexican culture. If I were a writer, anything I wrote would probably be more of a caricature than anything realistic. And I think culture is at least as important as geography.
  11. And Rory! ;-)
  12. Metaphorically! I don’t see Harry as the type who keeps guns around the house. Especially not accessible to a thirteen year old with anger issues! Isn’t that what most kids, especially teenagers, would say about almost all adults? ;-)
  13. Isn’t everybody’s 18-year-older brother the head surgeon of the local ER? ;-)
  14. Mom steps up again! She wasn’t going to let the Principal scapegoat Oli. She knew how to threaten to use Ryder Sullivan’s notoriety against the Principal. And she knew using Ryder was not an empty threat either! Ryder could still bring unwanted international attention on Hudson’s poor track record on protecting LGBTQ students. ;-) Has Oli been tested for ADHD or ADD? Being easily distracted is a symptom of several things including ADHD/ADD. There might be therapy strategies or medication that could help Oli with his concentration. ;-)

    The Next Step

I think I make suggestions in my Comments and you adjust what you have planned next, but suggest to us all that you had already planned to do what I came up with! ;-) Unlike Chet, I almost never did my homework. But when I was in school, teachers weren’t so obsessed with giving hours of homework every night! Certainly I got some, but I was never penalized for not studying at home. I definitely underperformed, but I wasn’t challenged in school. There were few classes and even fewer teachers I cared about. I just slid under the radar of most teachers and they didn’t pay much attention to me. ;-)
  16. My ex-boyfriend took me to Austin back in 1990. We stayed with his family in a houseboat on Lake Travis – and saw Hippy Hollow from a boat offshore. And visited his alma mater, UT Austin. He took me to The Boathouse (I think it was). The weather was very hot and sticky! Austin might be the most Progressive part of Texas, but it suffers badly in comparison with the Bay Area! ;-)
  17. He seems to have toned down his stylishness significantly… ;-)
  18. I only found this chapter today – no Notification for me either! ;-) Too many updates! I still have to read Vic! And I have NBC’s ‘live’ taped delayed coverage on in the background (and they’ll rerun the coverage in Primetime tonight and rerun it again late night/overnight) – Gus Kenworthy today! ;-)
  19. So many chapters to read. I’m old. And on Disability. ;-)
  20. Does Paddy have a (twin?) brother? Is the family growing again? And what ever happened to sparkly, fabulous Lee? ;-)
  21. My mother warned me about many things, but never about sitting on cold things – much less the bleeding’ ass, Denny McCloud, or oozing piles! No, with my mother, it was more, “I’m cold, go put on a sweater!” Or, “Stop doing that! People will think that all Asians do that!” ;-)
  22. In this case, they lied to Oli about Teddy & Ryder his entire life! How can he trust them? Instead of protecting Oli, they betrayed him. The second child is always going to go out of his way to establish an identity separate from his older sibling! That’s just basic psychology! My family will tell you I’m the definition of that concept! But then again they think I “chose” to be Gay! ;-)
  23. Since someone who is just finished reading Struggling Forward Liked a Comment I made, I was reminded of Topher, Steph, and Destiny. Whatever happened to them? Shouldn’t they be visiting to meet the new kids too? ;-)
  24. I’m guessing Stanley will be involved in the problems! He’ll get his fellow travelers to muck things up somehow. He’s unhappy that his ex-wife left him for the man he wanted. Naturally that means everyone around him needs to be just as unhappy! ;-)
  25. I guess it really wasn’t too much of a surprise to the kids, but it’s still really difficult to lose a parent even if they weren’t the best caretaker. Maybe they should have invited her boyfriend over to console her. But she’s probably overwhelmed by all the testosterone she’s surrounded by: her brothers, her dads, her uncles, her cousin Kasey, and even the dogs! 😉 On second thought, instead of her boyfriend, they should arrange for her to spend some bonding time with her grandmother! 😉
