    Christmas Bread

I’ve seen several movies that dealt with hearing impaired LGBTQ+s dating hearing individuals. In a short, two high school cross-country athletes communicate by writing on dew-coated car windows during their early morning run. Another movie showed the difficulties of navigating in the other’s world, including parties. ;–) When I worked in a computer store, we communicated with hearing impaired customers on laptops. It always surprised me when they’d ask me to print out the incomplete sentences and half-answers that we’d typed out. MacOS can optionally indicate alerts with an on-screen flash. ;–) I’ve been unsuccessful at learning three different verbal languages. I cannot imagine I’d be any more successful with a sign language. I’ve thought about it though, just as I’ve contemplated learning Danish so I could understand Timothy M’s dialogs without waiting for the translations that follow. ;–)

    Christmas Bread

The bread looks tasty, but a little intimidating. (And the recipe refers to ‘extra milk’ that isn’t listed and lists water that doesn’t seem to be used.) ;–)
  3. Are we making lasagna or chasing away vampires? ;–)

    Fear

There are too many young people who only hear the parts they like. They ignore the reality of the story of HIV/AIDS and the virus's continual mutations. Young people feel invulnerable and immune – just hit the Reset Button, right? Thank you for the brutal honest truth that doesn’t always get verbalized.

Hrútspungar are hors d’oeuvres? With Kjötsupa as the main course? Viking food is not one of the renown world-class cuisines! ;–)

    Chapter 21

I remember maybe twenty years ago, being in San Francisco and seeing the Hunter Valley Regional Marching Band (or something like that) performing in Union Square. I had to ask an Aussie friend where that was. I suppose if I drank alcohol, I might have been aware of the area – I only know about Napa and Sonoma Valley wines because they’re nearby. I think they were here because of the New Year’s Day Rose Parade in Pasadena (Los Angeles area) or something Macy’s New York Thanksgiving Parade. ;–)

    Chapter 21

You’d think Novy & AJ would be more enthusiastic about Novy’s new bed. Is Novy not happy to be moving in? Since it’s his room, I’d think he’d take more interest in the furniture. ;–) I’d have expected that sort of disinterest if it were someone else’s bed they were being forced to move. At least, that’s how I’d have felt at their age… ;–)

    Part 2

I’ve thought about buying one of those artificial tree-like things that resemble bare branches with lights (I haven’t been able to justify the cost yet). I’d like to decorate entire holiday trees with ornaments that I made. I’ve folded and assembled literally thousands of origami ornaments, almost all of which I’ve given away. Over four decades, I’ve probably sewn together more than a thousand felt animals, again, almost all of which I’ve given away. ;–) The rescue mission’s holiday tree got several origami stars that I made (with approval of the woman who was decorating it). The Target store I worked at got dozens of origami cranes folded out of Target flyers (promoting holiday jobs) added to the tree in the employee break room (without permission) – and a couple dozen of my coworkers got gold foil star ornaments. And the non-profit that used to provide me with psychological therapy probably got about a dozen ornaments that I made over the years, plus another more sculptural origami decoration (roughly spherical and about 9 or 10” across). Most of my former coworkers at my various jobs of mine got felt mice as gifts.

    Part 2

Sweet or sour, ram or some other animal, I’m not interested in eating testicles as a food. Cute names like ‘Mountain Oysters’ don’t make them any more appetizing to me. There are many things I refuse to eat. (Although it wouldn’t surprise me if testicles and other unsavory items have been added to ground beef and other things I’ve unwittingly eaten.) ;–)

You should try some tastier, higher quality chocolate. The Bay Area offers several much better options than the waxy Pennsylvania… stuff. Ghirardelli is now owned by Lindor, but it used to be owned by the same people as Rice-A-Roni, Golden Grain (a pasta brand), and their former factory is now a tourist destination near San Francisco's Fishermen’s Wharf. See’s Candy (owned by Berkshire Hathaway) uses Guittard Chocolate. There are others, but they aren't as widely distributed. ;–)

Some seem to be allowed to break the rules. I’ve noticed one writer posing multiple chapters immediately after each other. On more than one occasion. But the stories I follow conform to the supposedly mandatory restrictions regarding posting. ;–) I did just finish (re)reading a story that was being posted two chapters per day, just after noon and midnight PST even though the author lives in the UK. I’m waiting for him to begin posting the next story in his series (while also reading a brand new story in the series on another site).

    Part 1

Bubble Drive. I vaguely remember a science-fiction fantasy book I read in the ancient past that used some sort of bubble drive to power the space ships. I don’t remember how it worked or what the name referred to though… ;–) How will I keep up with the embarrassment of riches that are here to read? Between following up on all the Reactions and Responses to the new chapters of this and Our Christmas Cookbook series, it’s a good thing I’m on Disability! But there are still other things I need to get done before the holidays. ;–)

  15. I think that Sally tried to tell Sandy’s mom that she was making bad choices with the men she was seeing. Sandy’s mom was offended and not ready to accept her feelings for another woman. Sandy’s mom seems to get into arguments rather than having calm discussions, although her disagreement with Sally wasn’t physical and violent. Maybe Sandy’s mom should talk to a therapist anyway… ;–) Whatever the case may be, she appears to love, care for, and protect her son very much. ;–)

    Mark Weber!

I agree, but not everyone has achieved such healing yet, and some endured more suffering than I ever did.

We love Michael J Fox, Ryan Gosling, kd lang, Ellen Page, and Ryan Reynolds. But why have you torpedoed us with Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, and William Shatner? Do you really hate us that much? ;–)

    Meeting Max

Canadians worshippéd at the feet of Justin Bieber and Celine Dion – they travelléd across thousands of icy kilometres on the frozen tundra in their pyjamas to savour their favourite performers only to discover the concert at the centre was cancelled. Refund cheques would be issued or their tickets would be honoured in the US with a tonne of additional fees to cover the exchange rate. It left a bad flavour in the mouths of fans who harboured bad feelings. It was difficult to gauge the mood of the crowd due to all the racket. All their good humour froze like water vapour turns into ice on a warm, grey, Canadian winter day of -20°C.

    The Party

If they have to use Chapter 1, I wish the author would add the initials of the title as well (ca01, tcc130, occ19, or something similar). I just thought the ‘sentence’ was amusing. ;–)

    The Party

Once again, the Notification I got sounded like something very different: The Party of Changes, Again. The Notification doesn’t make the chapter title distinct from the story chapter and it actually makes sense as a weird sentence. It didn’t occur to me that it was referring to Changes, Again until the page started drawing. ;–)
