    Part 4

What? You haven’t heard that next year’s tale for December will be about the Legend of the Christmas Moth? I think it’s based on a Welsh fable with a single-word name that’s only 73 letters long… ;–)

    Part 5

So Auggie has become less cartoonish as he became real! I could so see Kippy wanting to take Auggie home with him. Such an impractical desire, but so Kippy! ;–) How will Charlie's SkwishIntellect manifest itself? Will it be a form of sudden intuition? Or will it be a more subtle form of intellectual understanding? What is Ricky’s Skwish ability? Something related to physical strength? Or some sort of spacial understanding? Or something I haven’t thought of? Adrian’s nascent abilities are also not defined yet, are they? I see Kippy’s Skwishabilities as being related to emotions, empathy, and feelings. How close am I? ;–)

It’ll take me a while to locate the titles. I’ll try to remember to look later. ;–) One was Running Without Sound.

    Part 4

It’s a good thing Kippy’s Skwish helped form the Foobear. If the Moth or some other, less playful and innocent creature had been the influence, there’d have been a much bigger problem! Instead of an enemy, they have a friend. ;–)

Maybe he lives in California where we have Santa Rosa, Santa Clara, Santa Barbara, and Santa Ana (just listing four from north to south)! ;–)

    Part 4

Well, now! That wasn’t what I expected! They can’t continue to call it a Foobear because they won’t have a name for all the other foobears. They’ll need to come up with a new name for their new friend! ;–)
  9. While it’s an advantage to have read the stories that introduced the six couples, you can easily and enjoyably read this story without having done so. ;–) Once again Rudy is hosting his annual holiday gathering of a dozen friends in his father’s lodge in Scotland. This time, it’s a new gang with couples from Brian's other stories. We get to catch up on favorites and see how they interact with everyone else. I wish I had friends like Rudy, Trevor, Kieran, Kennedy, Tom, Marcus, Gallagher, Martin, Stephen, Anton, and Rauf and you will too! ;–)

So you have about a year to plan the next gathering. This is a great way for us to get an update on our favorite characters! Will Kennedy expand the lodge? Add some room so Marcus & Tom can bring their daughters and Marcus’ parents? And maybe a certain Aussie relative and his wife? The rest of Kennedy’s clan? Rauf’s future sibling and pet? Well, maybe not… ;–)

Awww! I was expecting Trout to show up unannounced! And with the ‘wrong’ partner… ;–)

    Chapter 21

[heavy sarcasm] But the video presentation of all the major events in your life that went viral will be so short! It’ll jump right from the Prom-Posal to the Gender Reveal Parties! How ever will the entire world know that you got engaged? If it’s not on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, did it really happen? How will I find it when I Google it? [/heavy sarcasm] Of course, you must continue to do all that on your Apple device so the Bay Area economy doesn’t tank! ;–)

I’m very happy that you progressed and grew as a writer. I wish that on all writers this season. Even if some vehemently disagree with my method of suggestion.

Do you have to mention them three times in conversation, or does that only happen in a funny Eighties movie? ;–)

So, is Charlie’s image on the star atop the tree decorated with events in the gang’s lives? ;–)

    Part 2

I’d be stunned into silence (in panic situations, I freeze rather than fight or take flight!) by his appearance in my apartment! Then I’d probably be stunned by his appearance (I have a thing for tall, slim, smooth Nordic blond men). He can revive me after I faint. Food would be the last thing on my mind! ;–) I hope you and Nicholaas send him my way soon! I’ve been reasonably good this year (by my standards, anyway). I don’t ask for much… ;–)

You might look into donating them to a school or a non-profit near you. The schools in my area are grossly underfunded and could use these sorts of supplies. When I lived in Oakland, I had a neighbor who was a teacher. I had a case of 5x8” scratch pads that I was barely using. I gave her a bunch of them only to have her report that she split each pad up and distributed them to her grateful students! I think I gave her more after she told me that (I had thought I had given her enough pads for each student, but I obviously underestimated!) ;–)

But German- and Italian-Americans blended in after a generation or two, especially if they ‘Americanized’ their names. And during WWII, only a tiny percentage of German and Italian resident aliens were imprisoned in Internment Camps. There was no widespread roundup of entire families including American citizen children. There was an obvious racist intent behind the differing treatment. Even as they formulated the plans, the US government knew that the effort was unnecessary. It was only one of a series of racist actions against Asian and Asian-Americans that continued on long after WWII and the Vietnam Wars ended. The unequal treatment of all non-European immigrants and their descendants, as well as Native Americans, is evident in many things.

Oh boy! The first sign of trouble. How will the gang be involved? Will they be traveling in space to discover the source of what I fear will be a whole series of foobears? ;–)

Due to racism and history, especially the virulent anti-Asian sentiment before and after WWII in the California, my parents did not want us to learn the language my grandparents spoke.
