  1. UC San Francisco is primarily post-graduate (esp MD) - but San Francisco State is decent.
  2. Lyrics - it's why I love broadway showtunes so much. I do agree, the music and the singer matter - but lyrics can transform a song from enjoyable to sublime.
  3. Congrats and even though you take one day at a time, here's to 60 more...
  4. WTF?!? Um - this is how I find out about a new story? Hehehhee
  5. There were two phone calls - and the later one, CJ specifically mentioned that they called Trevor back from Bridget's landline (which decreased the static on the call) and it was that call where Trevor gave all of the travel changes and details...
  6. Minor thing - it was the equator, not the dateline. He won't hit that until after Australia
  7. VERY nice - esp the smile :-)
  8. Yup - definately allowed, and hopefully someone remembers the story and chimes in soon. It doesn't sound familar to me though, sorry...
  9. IIRC, Rachel "left" in late spring, so for the southern hemisphere, late fall. I'd think it would be ok to still travel around the cape (ie Argentina/Chile) and then west to Australia at that time of the year?!? Ok - looking at a globe instead of a flat map - maybe not... not sure...
  10. Today was a fantastic day and thank you all for your thoughts...
  11. No - past chapters establish that there was a delay of a year and a half between the "wreck" of the Ares and pronouncing Rachel dead - which was around Christmas time seven years before the story. The statute of limitations was tied to seven years after she was declared dead - so if there was insurance money, Dirk would have gotten it at that point. I don't think that Rachel found the stash prior to the "wreck" - but she may have in the time since, or once Trevor is in Austrailia and reunited, he may try to create a similar stash place on the Ares and find that someone had beat him to it... Reason I don't think Rachel knew about the stash is that Dirk would have been much more paranoid about Bridget, and when he learned that part of the investigation was regarding Bridget and her husband, he would have agreed to meet with the police, in case not doing so might endanger Trevor. DAMN - re-reading the prologue, two phrases jump out that I hadn't really paid attention to before...
  12. Los Angeles and Houston disappear and no one notice... Hmm - no, I could see that happening...
  13. Just to be clear - I'm just the messenger, Dan's the writer :-)
  14. Would you feel better knowing there are still 8 chapters to go?
  15. You gave it away CJ - Trevor is going to give the bomb tons of cigarettes...
  16. Good news - Dan finished writing the last chapter and has sent it to his editor. Then when he gets it back, he has to review it. Not sure what type of turn-around we can expect with the editing - his editor is DAMN good, but that also means everyone else in the world wants to use him too ;-) Bottom line - expect to see the conclusion of this story soon.
  17. Trebs

    He's MINE!

    Congrats Paya and West!
  18. Happy Birthday to one of my longest-time friends!
  19. I'm guessing that at some point when describing the stowing of the beer and groceries, we were told where the propane tanks were - and it isn't where the propane tank in this chapter was. I'm at work, so I can't go back and look but will search tonight.
  20. Not to mention Eric from Jacksonville... :-)
  21. OMG - if you haven't read today's chapter of The Regency - GO NOW! (Um - but then come back to GA)... I absolutely did not see this one coming - VERY nice twist that so makes sense.
  22. Doh - that's NOT how to get your palm "rosey" /ducking
  23. James - just noticed this thread. Agreed on "Luka" - always weirded me out that dance clubs would play that and Crystal Waters "Gypsy Woman" (its the song with the refrain "She's homeless") Janis Ian - ANYTHING is great, "At 17" is wonderful but if you haven't heard "Society's Child", you should... Lastly, the final song of West Side Story - a reprise of "Somewhere" - I even think about that scene or hear that song and I tear up...
