  1. You need serious help, dude! I take it "words" is to be given very wide scope. e.g. bot as in short for robot; slang for botany? You missed... rob - to steal Bert and Tob are names roe as in fish eggs Boer - a South African of Dutch extraction. rot - decay bort - a low quality diamond; when granulated, it's used as an abrasive orb - a sphere erb - as in herb, the h is silent anyway Conner P.S. You win. No one wants to play now.
  2. Well, Ieshwar, it's easy when you know the answer. It's not CJ. Bob's delusional again. It's the "corpses" that throws me off. A Corpse is a dead body, usually human. My best guess is it's some sort of plant. Conner
  3. That was a sweet sweet chapter. A little short on dialogue, though. I thought that once Scott got by his "misgivings", he would totally ravage the lad. He showed excellent restraint. Now, of course, he's totally confused. It sure beats getting dumped......I think. One day, Duncan, you'll have to explain to me why you have a straight dude giving relationship advice. I'll have to wait till the next chapter to hear what wisdom Bran has to offer. It's not like Scott gave him a whole lot of information. Well, at least they're doing it over a beer...so that works. Conner Edit: for those wondering what that French expression (feelings one has after making love) it's "le petit mort" literally translated as the little death, but idiomatic expressions seldom translate well.
  4. All righty then, why don't I do that. I like it very much. So, does this story takes place in the 60's? That's cool as a big chunk of my teenage years happened around then. Actually, all of them did. I'm also one of those dudes who remembers exactly where he was when John Kennedy was assasinated in 1963. Yes, the Beatles were the rage. Anyway, enough about me. There were a lot of characters introduced in this first chapter, many were just names, though. Your writing flows very well, a nice read. It was definitely a time when mental illness was poorly understood. "Crazy" people were shunned and feared. Of course, homosexuality was still treated as a mental illness then as well. I must admit, Uncle Jerry, war hero or not, is a bit scary. I'm quite curious about him and whether Geoff will take him up on his offer to talk. I'll just have to wait and see. I'm looking forward to more. Conner
  5. Alas, I don't. If only I did, my life would be complete. Do you own a baseball mitt?
  6. That's ok. It would be like you quoting the name of some famous Australian rugby player. You're up, Graeme. Give us some clues. It's a koala bear, right??? Conner
  7. Drum roll please!!! Well done. The next clue was going to be...while playing with the Yankees, he was arrested after a game in Toronto for killing a seagull. He was charged, but the charges were dropped the following day. His manager was quoted as saying, "There's no way Dave killed that seagull on purpose. That was the first time this year that he hit the cut off man." I believe that was Billy Martin. Conner
  8. Robinson was inducted into the Hall in 1962. My man was inducted in 2001. His primary team was the Yankees (why always the Yankees?) His rookie season was spent with San Diego. He spent some time with the Toronto Blue Jays.
  9. No, no waffle iron. I prefer them served. Do you own a kite?
  10. Moi non plus. Nor have I ever completed a World Series. Never have I understood why some people think baseball is boring.
  11. Another hint Baseball Hall of Famer
  12. No, not Michael Jordan. He is also an African-American. Conner
  13. This is a person. Just out of university, I was drafted by a major league team in 3 different sports. Baseball, Basketball and Football
  14. There would appear to be an available source of goat. So leave CJ alone. :2hands: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20590374/?gt1=10357
  15. Ok, fine. We still don't have a volunteer??? Conner
  16. Dear Bob, Sex ed time: You can't milk a male goat. Conner
  17. Happy B-day, Marty!! I plan to do a pub crawl in Ireland. I have it scheduled for 2011 to 2014. Have a super day and a great year! Conner
  18. That was hilarious, Ieshwar. You are so funny! If I ever get to meet you, I'm just going to squeeze the stuffing out of you! Conner
  19. I feel ya, baby! Conner
  20. Brandon is just too good to be true. Let me see, he's totally sweet, good natured, fun loving, sexy, humble to a fault, optimistic, insightful, street wise, grateful for what he has, a true romantic, giving, unassuming, always eager to please, and totally talented. You'd think someone would have kissed him by now. I would have. So I'm pleased Chase got to tell Lump he was canned. That was a great scene. Frankly, the side story is driving me to distraction. I know it will come together at some point. It's just all so unfocussed right now. Geez, CJ, the body count kinda took off in that chapter. I suppose it serves the plot, but.... There'll be no silliness from me all week. Conner
  21. You say silliness like it's a bad thing?? I feel honoured, actually, that you imply that my post was the height of silliness. When in Rome.....
  22. That's exactly what I think. Ok, since you're making me tell, I only play with my . We've already heard from 2 members on this choice: Naughty or Nice?
  23. That's very clever, CJ! What if Lump is the individual who bumps his head twice in the same spot? Think of the possibilities, particularly if Clump returns with the first lump already there: Clump's Lump Returns Clump Returns with a Lump Lump Upon Lump on Clump Who's Returning Clump is Dumped with a Returning Lump from a Sub-Pump The combianations and permutations are endless!! I can't wait for this chapter. Conner
