Whatever do you mean ten chapters to go; I know for a fact that there is enough story left for at least triple that number... I love how there are so many minor or secondary characters that are so delightful and bring so much to the story. They are all so well fleshed out and for most of them a true delight. People with money are often willing to pay the damnedest amounts for something that will give them bragging rights, something that not everyone has done. A private reading and picnic for a dozen for a thousand sounds about right. I just love this story.

Can't decide if it is poor Kate, or Kate, the annoying wannabe great witch yet. Michael Bell is a total ass, the kind of person that would honestly do something to someone in his family just to blame his political opponents. Can't get a good read on Susannah Bell yet, she definitely isn't a wallflower. She appears to be proud of her daughter and her abilities, is she a witch as well? Jacob Bell seemingly left and cut off all contact with his family, sister tried to keep in touch but was rebuffed, why? Nathan doesn't really seem to like either parent, but he will do what he can; and he will do what it takes to help the police get the girl home. Dust has connections with the local covens, but seems uncomfortable getting to involved with them, why? Vee and Warren are doing what they can, but not much information that leads anywhere yet. This is going to get spicy on one level or another.

Well, this doesn't explain all his behavior, but it explains the last couple of months at least in part. Jack has always been so stable, easygoing, and caring. I just could not understand his sudden change in attitude and behavior. I guess because I never had a mid-life crisis that I don't understand the significance of what some obviously go through with them. But this is the second person in the family that has basically ruined their relationship over theirs. Much like @PrivateTim, I do not understand Isidore and this crusade she is on with Will. To decide to live and die on this hill just doesn't make sense; almost makes me remember how she was with Billy. but in reverse. Jeremy did the right thing, his decision to support his brother will come back to him tenfold. He and Will don't always see eye to eye, but they are brothers first and foremost. I pity anyone that gets into between Marie and her father at this moment. Family holidays with this family are never dull, never boring, and never traditional.

Worries me a little that Mistress Alice seems to have a bit of an issue when she has more than a few drinks. Worries me that Dante seems to be involved on one level or another with so many people and doesn't seem to know which way to turn. Worries me that Frank is so afraid of his family's reaction that he isn't quite as impaired and helpless as they seem to believe. Worries me that Miss Britney seems so dismissive of her own daughter and her wishes and beliefs. Worries me that Mistress Sarah seems to worry about Matthew's happiness more than her sister Alice. Worries me that someone just witnessed something that they may not understand.

Gavin is truly a remarkable man. Rory is a lucky young man. Slav is in for the time of his life. Matthew and Jason are good men as well.

So glad that Nate is going to get a chance to visit Danny and Jake before he goes in the army. For some, the army provides them structure and a trade that they can use to support themselves when they get out, plus even in the Australian army, there is the chance for some travel. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Well, looks like Violet and Nathan Upfield are going to get the first go around with the family of the missing girl; but is she really missing or just not where everyone expects her to be? I guess missing since this seems to be the basis of the story. LOL Already care about what happens next, but of course, can't wait for Dust to appear...

Things that make you go hmmmm.

Lovely chapter about the minutia of daily life... In the end, Graham and Vincent's father was an ass. Of course, they could just stuff him and live there the rest of their lives... Of course, that might have been what he was trying to force them to do, so it would almost be like letting him win.

Much like real life, you just have to roll with the punches.

As always, thanks for the work behind this. Some truly outstanding stories and authors showing love and romance in all their forms.

Not sure how I truly feel about this one, I can understand Matthew and Alice being together, for different reasons, but only if they would both be getting something out of it. If Alice makes enough money off the books to help save the farm, it makes sense for Matthew to marry her on his side for that alone, plus, he does care for her and her for him, just not in the right way but that might come with time. Sarah cares for them both, and I think she wants them to both be happy; just not sure that this marriage will make either of them happy in the long run.

And so it begins.

The four guys seem to think it is just them, but they are really forming a larger family with people that really matter. Can't wait to see what happens next, although I do expect some more drama at some point.

Interesting take on a unique story.

Double jeopardy applies in this case. Bailiff, please hand my orders to Ms. Halton. We are adjourned." No were in that statement does the word reasonable appear. If he was an adult, he would walk out a free man and nothing else would occur, why not the same here?
