This whole chapter just made me happy...

So cannot wait to see what everyone has come up with for this one.

Even before Susannah Bell came forward, I don't think anyone in their right mind would have trusted Michael Bell, and this just reinforces that idea. Not saying he directly had anything to do with Kate going missing, but still. I really like the glimpses into the mind of Nathan Upfield, there is something about him that appeals to me on a level that I can't quite decide on. But I would trust him implicitly, no matter what. How large is the Parker Settlement? Just the mention of the Monk's Tower stirred something, maybe we should at least search in that area? Just so many scrumptious little tidbits to feast on in this chapter. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Honestly, @Robert Hugill has such a gift of turning the everyday minutia of life into something fascinating and real. Sometimes, I think that is when you know that you really have something special with someone; when the everyday aspects of what life is really all about become the everyday parts of your life. Graham and Matt and inching closer, and Sandra does approve, even if she may not fully understand. Vince and Peter are getting more in tune with each other, and Vince does better when he listens to Peter about some things. Glad that Jacob is fitting in; and wouldn't it be nice to have a garden, maybe Maxi's mother would share some of the spices with the house. Freddie is having his moments of rebellion, but of course, he is a teenager. Arvid is still having issues with his father, but that is part of life as well. Out little group seems to be making connections all over and drawing others to them, wonderful additions all.

OMG, had no idea Carolyn was this big of a bitch... To have lied all those years, even to a slave, either keep up the lie, or come up with a better one.

Oh, merciful Goddess... Well, Tom must have been the one to see the kiss; but who the hell did he run off with? Well, since we have not seen chapter 45 in the other story, I can only guess. Matthew is going to have one hell of a time dealing with this; and on top of his other issues, he really did not need this now. Just how bad off is Matthew's farm? Could Alice get it to profitability if she married Matthew? Yikes...

So, Slav survived the grilling by the grandmother, Audra... And really did quite well. Audra and Jock just want their grandson to be happy. Slav wants Rory to be happy. They have that in common. Glad that they all seem to have some sense and appreciation of classical music, nice since both Rory and Matthew both really care about it. Irma seems to be a steadying influence on more than one person. Gavin and Jason seem to be moving forward with their relationship, but at some point, they are going to have to go into their connection with each other. Have to admit, I have never understood the whole tattoo or piercing situation; but to each their own.

As long as most of the world prioritizes money, wealth, and privilege over doing what is right, nothing will truly change. Sort of bothers me that several time it has been suggested that a Middle Eastern representative called out for the common good or at least more transparency, when they almost without exceptions the most corrupt and less transparent countries in the world. But then, when it really comes down to it, except for maybe the Nordic countries, few countries seemingly try and do the right thing consistently.

Seems like Danny and Jake have settled in, a bit rough, but plans to smooth it out some. Nothing some hard work and planning won't fix. Glad that they are pursuing their art, it will help keep them sane, when things get wild. Nate is willing to help out while he is there, you would be surprised how much just one extra pair of hands can do. Loving the vibe.

Well, more that everyone is out of sorts during the chapter for one reason or another. Dante realizes at the end of the chapter, that being with Mistress Alice, Frank, Henry, and all the rest is what having a family feels like.

So, everyone seems to be a bit out of sorts. Dante realizes that this is family.

Crossing my fingers for a couple of reasons. Let's hope that Jack can recover; I don't ever see him and Claire back together, but it will devastate Marie and John as well if he were to pass away. Any type of infection after a surgery can be truly deadly, your body is so run down from dealing with the issues with the surgery, that it has a rough time fighting anything else off. Elizabeth Danfield has made an appearance; don't really think she is up to anything with our group at the moment, but always a good precaution to occasionally remind someone like her that there are consequences for her actions. Let's all hope that Will's plan with Paul and Colin go as planned, talk about a hot time in the city. Let's hope Will's gift will help Kat and the Yogi have a long happy life and they will be able to help others that are searching for answers. After all, the search to find oneself is always a noble quest. And let's all hope Brad figures out why Jessica is pissed at him; would hate for her to use a scalpel on him and he end up missing a vital body part... LOL...

I truly enjoy a good hike in nature. But of course, I want the weather right, the humidity low, and time to enjoy it; hate to be rushed on something like that. Dawn and Arnold fit in quite well with both Graham and Matt, sociable when needed but quiet or wandering on their own when that was best. Graham like most in the arts is always having to worry or at least be concerned where the next pound is coming from, have to make that money in whatever way you can.

Firmly believe the old maxim, the best defense is a good offense. VIREX must be exposed and all those that backed them must be exposed.

OMG, loved everything about this chapter. Dust is getting dragged into the case in a way that will require him to deal with people that he would rather keep at arms length. Vee needs to get laid, but she needs a break in the case and a break from work. Nathan needs to think about what he really wants. Kate is missing, this I am now sure of, and what about this older teacher that she might have been involved with; but you have her enemy Madeliene. Oh, just so much going on.

Not really a fan of AI, but damn, those eyes.

VIREX is doing something that is either causing some of this or at least encouraging the actions of the dimensional shifting issues. They must be stopped.

I believe that I have read this once before, but the recent discussions made me want to revisit it. Lovely story about overcoming your fears at a rather young age. While the aptly titled dog, Bonkers, was nice and allowed young Jimmy to overcome some of his issues; to me the hero of the story is Doug. As an older boy, he could have easily made fun of Jimmy's fears and honestly, a great many boys his age probably would have. But he took the time to talk to Jimmy, realize how frightened he was, and took it upon himself to do something about it. No wonder Bonkers was such a good dog, he had a great owner.

Well, Jason with the help of another article has fixed where to go on holiday. I would think an article like this would be hilarious but what type of magazine is it appearing in? Is this a general interest magazine or more a musical bent with just some other things thrown in? Slav isn't slow but like many when language is an issue, just careful. But you can tell that he truly cares about Rory. Glad that he and his sister finally had this conversation, maybe work up to the mother, but Slav needs to have some of his family know and be supportive or at least not be negative about it. Will be quite a group at holiday, can't wait to see what happens. And really can't wait for Rory's grandparents to meet Slav.

A meeting with a very young Lord Byron, I wonder if any of his future poems reflected this. LOL Well, this has the makings of an interesting holiday. Have to wonder how much bed hopping and partner swapping will be going on. I have always had a soft spot for Cavendish, after all, he did save Granger's life. Granger inspires great loyalty from those in his life, for the most part; but he also seems to cause a great many of his partners partner's to be more than a little jealous of his relationships with them. More instances of abuse or at least neglect, parents in this world simply don't seem to care. Don't understand that, how can you give birth to a child, even a male one, and simply not care? Very telling dream, not fully sure what it all means, but think we will find out.

Nate and Danny may love each other the rest of their lives on one level or another and that kiss maybe all that ever happens; that doesn't mean the love isn't real or true. Only Nate can figure out what he really wants or who he wants to be with. It may take him years to figure that out, or he may know by the end of the summer. I missed these guys so much...
