Master and Commander is the 3rd book of the Bridgemont Series of books by Mark Arbour and I just finished re-reading this gem. It is a sprawling tale that travels from England to India and back and then to the Caribbean, onto Philadelphia, then to Bermuda and finally back to England all aboard Granger's first command the HMS Intrepid. There are naval battles and crusty old Captains and Admirals and more than enough sexual encounters to continually stoke the libido. And it all occurs prior to Granger's twentieth birthday! Size queen? I think that is a safe assertion. Interesting to see certain characters re-appear over the course of the saga!

I'd say this privateer's news explains Bertie's lament that Wilcox was dealing on the side in the prior chapter...If they can just prove it...

The Intrepid and her crew surely have much to be proud of, but it came at a cost...

George's audacity is only exceeded by his luck. Let's hope he doesn't run out of either.

I'm amazed that Arbour worked a 4-20 into this story......

Francis Calvert and George Granger have come to a sort of understanding, however, I'm not sure either of them are really sure about the other...

I've re-read both the Gunroom and the Wardroom and I am blown away by the gifted ability of Mark Arbour to tell a compelling tale of our charming, intelligent and randy Mr. Granger. If you have read some of the later works in the Bridgemont Series but missed the first two, then you do not know how some of the most important characters came into George's life. These stories are too good to be missed. Read and enjoy!

My second reading and I think I enjoyed it more this time around....Thanks for your gifted storytelling!

A terrible and dramatic end to Granger's tour on the Barracuda. I look forward to his complete recovery and wonder where Lord Spencer will send him next? (And yes it's been long enough since I read this last, that I don't remember...)

I enjoyed reading this story even better the second time!

Ah! And then there is Caroline..a fine introduction balanced by a welcome back fuck by the captain.

George's first rescue!

The first book in what became the Bridgemont Saga and it is a fabulous introduction into life aboard an English warship. Granger is a personable guy with a penchant for charming his way into intimate relationships and this is where it all started. Please read the story comments that accompany this story. While I originally came to GA for Arbour's CAP series, this series has also become a favorite that I love just as much! Mark Arbour has published 29 stories on site with 5.3 million words and counting. READ AND ENJOY!

This is the first story in a series about the Santa Claus, an interstellar freighter...It is the start of Mann Ramblings best series and the whole series is reserved for premium members. It is a compelling reason to buy a month of premium and read these three fabulous stories which I can unreservedly recommend!

This is not a story about young love or teenage angst. It is very adult story of men's foibles and fumblings. Barry meets Dave in a complicated twist of events and Barry does the right thing and they become ensnared in a nice masculine romp of a relationship. I really loved this story and heartily recommend it to everyone!

I think Cia has the right idea and perspective. You don't owe that company anything above what they pay you for as they have rewarded your prior hard work with cutting your hours. I would start looking for another job ASAP.

The plot thickens and old foes are back in the picture. Sawyer is an incompetent backed by Admiral Mann and the Wilcoxes as there is no reason to doubt St. Vincent. Spencer is a reasonable man but he also has many pressures, so St. Vincent's threat should be persuasive but knowing Mark other agendas will be sprung as well. Cavendish has a real problem. Either way his life is a ruin and somehow I'm beginning to doubt there is any way out... More please!

1968 is the second book in the CAP series and the one in my opinion that is the most under appreciated. It is set in one of the most turbulent years of the second half of the twentieth century. Everything seemed to come to a head that year and Mark's characters are swept up in the events of history and were forever changed. There is some real heartbreaking ground which is covered against the panoply of events. To understand the complexity of JP you must see how the events of this time in his life deeply changed and shaped him. I promise you that the insights you get into the characters will help you to understand the man and his motives even to the present time in the latest book.

The first story in Mark Arbour's ongoing CAP series is all about JP and introduces some of the early cast in this ongoing saga. This is the foundation on which the whole saga in its many twists and turns is based. Mark's story is what brought me to GA in the first place and his stories continue to be the most compelling for me as must reads! The whole saga which now encompasses some 16 books may seem overwhelming, but trust me they are reads you cannot put down and keep drawing you in to see more. On a personal note, I am a contemporary of JP and Mark puts JP's story in the context of a history I share and so it is especially rewarding for me. So given that caveat, I may be unfairly biased a bit, but notice how many followers and comments are made on the stories and you soon see that he has a host of fans. Take heed and read! CAP is the beginning of the whole series!

Pour Me Another was posted in 2013 by KC and it won the 2013 Readers Choice Awards for the Best Story by a Promising Author. The site used to annually have readers vote on the best story of the year in various categories. This story was the overwhelming choice and has garnered almost 1100 chapter comments to date. Asher is the main character and as we follow him through the heartaches and highlights of a transformational time in his life you are swept along and will find it difficult to put the story down. The good news it is complete and you don't have to if you have the time. I heartily recommend it to everyone, especially those who are newer to the site and were not here when this story was all the buzz!
