New Orleans is one of my favorite places. Maybe you could check in with Robert Rex....
-
Ethan is definitely part of the pack now.

Outside of Dally and Nola the entire family doesn't seem worth knowing. Maria and Steff's remarks about their encounter, if on the mark, could lead to some real solid info in what has been mostly speculation so far. But no, it couldn't be easy.... More please!

It is too soon to say that Ritchie is processing and coming to terms with his loss. The dads are right about counseling. I still wonder about CJ. The party and the next morning were interesting in several ways. Ethan displayed real maturity in apologizing. Owen showed loyalty as did Ritchie. CJ's restraint and willingness to give Ethan a second chance demonstrates personal growth. Kudos!

Guess What! You Won't Make It To Fifty
Daddydavek commented on Mikiesboy's blog entry in Mikiesboy's Blog
I've waited and thought about what I could add to the discussion and the one thing that keeps coming back to me is when I learned my brother-in-law told me he had cancer. He never smoked, rarely drank and ate healthy and exercised his entire life when he was diagnosed with stage four cancer of the common bile duct and given 3 to 6 months to live. He told me, "we all have a death sentence and I intend to live my life until my time is up and it's up to God and not some doctor." He did his research and sought the best medical help and lived four years after his diagnosis. He got to take my sister back to Hawaii for their fortieth wedding anniversary and was at peace that he'd lived his life to the fullest. Keep on keeping on and don't let this prognosis limit your dreams! -
Chapter 46 (Final Chapter)
Daddydavek commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Chapter 46 (Final Chapter)
Just a thought: An interesting conclusion and perhaps a bit sexist? Granger would rather be out at sea pursuing his quarry 'honestly' than having to deal with the dirty work of politics which he is leaving mostly to his spouse... I wonder if there might be a lesson there for the present time? An interesting finish to another book in the Granger series. Thanks! -
Happy Birthday Hunter! & Many, many more!

How sad! Somehow I suspect Ritchie will be in DC sooner rather than later. Also another issue for CJ with his unresolved issues with his mom and step father which are forever forestalled.

At last...another chapter. And it seems the guild retains its power despite George's plans. Politics does mean compromises. Caroline is bit of a puzzle and I wonder what she has done now? Hopefully we won't have long to wait.

sports Who Is The Greatest Nfl Quarterback Of All Time?
Daddydavek replied to W_L's topic in The Lounge
The greatest comeback in postseason history cements Brady as the greatest quarterback of all time with FIVE superbowl wins. While I can't say I was rooting for him, I cannot deny his talent. -
I started this story yesterday and was not going to comment, but this chapter was just too good, and I had to let you know!

Baby steps? BS! Just one step at a time...

Another interesting chapter and another candidate for the title of "Black Widow"... As interesting as Brad and Will's discussion about Steff was, I wonder if it's not more than what either of them discussed. Mark is usually fairly devious that way...

RIP MTM Here's a fairly comprehensive article from the NYT today https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/25/arts/television/mary-tyler-moore-dead.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=second-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

People do this conversationally all the time and comedians do it on purpose sometimes as the resulting juxtaposition can be quite funny. Unfortunately, I've been guilty of unintentionally dangling a few modifiers myself.

sports Who Is The Greatest Nfl Quarterback Of All Time?
Daddydavek replied to W_L's topic in The Lounge
There have been many great quarter backs I've had the pleasure to watch over the past sixty years. I think the best QB of their eras is a better way of thinking about it. Johnny Unitas was perhaps the first greatest QB Fran Tarkenton set the standard for being the first truly mobile QB Dan Marino was the greatest pure passer Steve Young set the table for: Joe Montana who eventually won four super bowls Brett Favre was a god in Green Bay Peyton Manning was great in Indy and then again in Denver John Elway was and remains a legend in Denver. Tom Brady will cement his credentials as the greatest of the current era if he wins the Superbowl this year. And yes I left off Terry Bradshaw. He was an important part of a great franchise for several years, but it was always a team win and perhaps that says more about what the sport has become than anything.... -
I'm not much of a fan of the NFL since Kroenke herded the lambs back to the LA, but I am rooting for the Falcons!

I think you are doing great and should continue to have confidence in yourself to achieve your goals. You take reasonable steps, complete them and move on. Just keep it up and you will succeed, There will be problems along the way, but that is life and you just have to keep working towards your goals. Good luck!

I'm hoping the penultimate chapter posts this weekend.

Black Widow (Story Discussion)
Daddydavek replied to Mark Arbour's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
Mark hopefully has this story all plotted out because if he is making it up as he writes it, we may never have closure on all the plot lines. And if the past is any indication, some may not be resolved until a future book anyway.... -
I went back and re-read Mr. Trump's speech today and it repeats his familiar refrain of decrying the present and making promises for the future without much substance, except to promise to turn world trade on its head. It did little to reach out to those who did not support him. Nor did it say much to reassure our allies around the world. Thus it begins.

I agree with your sentiments but I have a strong presentiment that he and his majority on the hill will strongly disappoint.

I'm of the opinion that Owen's sister was more impressed with the pictures of them with Sir Elton and his husband than their meeting Bill Clinton. The fact that the principal had little meeting with Sgt. Burke after the conference said a lot and I suspect he will either shape up or be out...
