The Countess von Lieven
Daddydavek commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in The Countess von Lieven
Granger is certainly well traveled and effortlessly reconnects with people. Caro!ine is clueless why Napoleon doesn't like her. Daventry is off to Amiens, and George has a countess for distractions. What could go wrong? More please!- 32 comments

Part One: Midnight Voyeur
Daddydavek commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Part One: Midnight Voyeur
Family is important, but your own health and well-being, aka survival is paramount. So yes there can come a time, when you walk away and don't look back.- 28 comments

Episode 1 of season 3 continues to be visually stunning. Same with episode 2. The Andoran Queen's consort is a problem along with his conspirators. Episode 3 reveals more pitfalls for everyone from two rivers. I'm still enjoying it but confess I have no idea what's coming next.

Part One: Son, You Stink
Daddydavek commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Part One: Son, You Stink
I like Tyler's parents and the way they interact. I was smiling the whole chapter, from the piss hard on to the supper money negotiations.- 50 comments

Stefan Schools the Class
Daddydavek commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Stefan Schools the Class
So Jeanine should have pressured Brad to tell JJ that he was the bastard son of a man who would never recognize him as such and oh, by the way was a cousin of sorts of the family? Or Brad should have done it after 9-11 when everyone was traumatized? -

I'm A fair bit older than Al, nor as well educated, but I can still get it up and find his fantasies fantastic!

As the parent of 2 adopted children more than 40 years ago, I can tell you that explaining to a child that they are adopted is not something they can understand at a young age. Even though you tell them they are adopted, they have no clue until they get to be about eight or a bit later. At that time you try to explain a little more to aid their understanding. When children are old enough to understand how children are conceived and born, you attempt to explain it again, but the maturity of the child can vary. My daughter understood much sooner than her older brother. However, she became angry at her birth mother as she could not understand how anyone could give up a child, no matter the circumstance. My son on the other hand, felt sorry for his birth mother who gave him up as a newborn infant because she was so young and in an abusive relationship. When adoption records were unsealed when both my kids were in their early thirties, they both got into touch with their birth mothers. My daughter finally resolved her conflicting thoughts and realized that her birth mother who was in bad health really had no choice. My son found his birth mother in a much better relationship and they established a relationship although he called her by her first name and continued to call my wife mom because she raised him. She came to my son's funeral and thanked me and my wife for giving my son the benefits of a stable family life which she could not have done. In JJ's case, you have a drama queen from a very young age who lived in very non-traditional household, with several adults in the picture as well as siblings. JJ has never been described as dull, unimaginative, or slow, so while Will and Darius figured things out, JJ was so self-absorbed he never did. Brad clearly put off explaining things to him because of JJ's dramatic outbursts and like many parents he made a mistake. He was never cold-hearted toward JJ and bailed him out of many problems and showered him with tutors and luxuries.

Thanks to all the GA admins, visitors, posters, commentators, bloggers, writers and readers. Especially thanks to those that financially contribute. Steve wrote: "I went to Denny's last week with some family, and found out that I got a Senior's discount" That reminded me of a line in a story I read this past week that made me laugh. It said "No one plans to go to Dennys' they end up at Dennys."

“They know that if Jeremy doesn’t really get how badly his behavior hurt the rest of us, and if he does not have to work to restore those relationships, then this will happen again and again until they actually do write him off.” Brad's key point to Claire is the same Travis made to JJ. And at this point JJ may be processing it better than Claire. It appears that perhaps Marie will have to spell it out to her before she can see it from their perspective. Yes, Brad at some point is going to have to explain to JJ why he didn't prepare JJ about his actual ancestry and that may happen before the end of the first semester of the Freshmen....at least I hope so. Knowing JJ, it was always going to be an overly drama filled discussion and that made it easier to put off.

The merchandising of child porn has been enabled by the internet and the vast sums appeal to the greedy. That Josh and Adam were caught up in this at the hands of their aunt and uncle is appalling. That they were joined by wealthy neighbors, associates and corrupt cops is reprehensible. Jordan and Cameron have to be especially careful, not just for Josh's sake, but for their own. These elements with powerful friends are a threat not to be underestimated.

Part 1 is a well conceived and executed story about love. It is very fast paced and happens seemingly all at once. I recommend everyone read this story first before starting on Part 2.

Really glad I decided I needed to read Part 1 before starting Part 2. So fate in this story is apparently named Adam! Hopefully he can continue to deliver in Part 2!

The 18 year old Jordan faced heart breaking trauma with the death of his first love and is finally coming to terms with it with the help of Cameron and Joshua. Fate has played a starring role in this story and I hope the stars remain aligned...

Wow! Fate really has intervened.

The fact that Cameron has given the Smythe's design ideas they like, impressed his colleagues and he was given some insight and full support. Two successful renovations and additions demonstrate ability where ability counts. More hints about Jordan's past....
