All the comments about Jeff's bodily characteristics make me wonder when we will get to read about him being a 2nd, 3rd or more cousin to the Hayes' men...Maybe Steven sowed some wild straight oats a few generations ago before he disappeared into the Pacfic and "hot Jeff" is the result?

I have to echo all of the other comments since they've pretty much said it all. It took me a few moments to process why Robbie reacted to Will's comments about feeling raped. Mark has given us so many characters in this rich grouping of stories that I'd almost forgotten Robbie's gang rape experience in high school by his football team. As for Paternity being almost over, I don't know. Certainly by chapter count we must almost be there when looking back to other CAP Book segments, but I think Mark may still have a few twists left for us before bringing this book to a close and starting the next... Thanks Mark for the "CAP Universe" you've given us...and of course for your other stories as well! :-)

Damme those Wilcoxes...I wonder how angry they will be having been (presumably) thwarted on land now, as well as at sea by our hero Lord Granger?
-
Though not wholly appropriate to the emotions of this story's chapter given the differing circumstances, there is a line in Elton John/Bernie Taupin's "The Last Song" about misjudging the love between a father and his son... It's good that Brad and Will rediscovered what they'd temporarily lost... Bravo Mark!

Talk about raising the anxiety level for a while...I was relieved that Will realized how isolated he was and that he was at risk of those predators that are out there...talk about scenting "blood in the water" for the sharks! Happy to read that Ryan worked his way through his experience with Will and let him know that all is well in their personal world... Robbie's silence is a concern and I think Will is right to be worried about that, just as he is right to be worried about Brad still not getting it. I see that that coming only after many sessions with the head doctor... Darius - don't know what to make of that, though I'm glad to see Will is headed to some home turf. Though I don't think he is home safe yet. I suspect Mark may throw a "CJ twist" in there before letting us off of the roller coaster! LOL. - thanks for another fast and great chapter Mark! :-)

Looking to kick the goat off of the top of the "cliffie pile" Mark? LOL. ;-)

I 2nd the thanks for the quick chapter Mark, much appreciated! I hope that we see frequent, even if shorter chapters, as everyone begins to deal with the situation that erupted... I can't decide if I want to hear next about Will or see Martin begin to get his...Robbie and Brad deserve to twist a bit more in the wind for what they've done, but I do want to know that Will makes contact with Stef or Wade and hears from them that he is not alone... As usual, Stef shows his true steel which few get to see while JP takes back the mantle of family leadership. Great chapter - thanks Mark!

Wow - but for Will's not damaging the rest of the house out of concern for the others that live there, I'd say that "scorched earth" pretty much covers his plan of attack. I was hoping for more time in the story line for Martin and Will to battle it out from a non-physical point of view... I wonder how Brad and Robbie will react when they first see the photo evidence of Martin's abuse of Will, but as I write this I wonder if Will sent it only to Stef and JP? I wonder if that alone would have guilted them back to reality and realizing how far things had gone. As it stands, I think they will come back and see only the damage wrought, and go from there...only later to find out about the abuse... So many ways this can go - I really felt the turbulence of Will's emotional state and can only hope that somehow, the reigns get pulled back on all sides. Right now, everyone is getting really close to the edge of the abyss... Thanks Mark!

Hmmmnnn...when it's Raine, it begins to pour troubles. I wonder if Mark will saddle Raine with a defective batch of pills, bringing Will even more trouble down the road? Ryan...hmn, I wonder how long before he works through his freaked out feelings about his experience with Will? And will Brad and Robbie be surprised if the ex-marine psychologist eventually takes more of Will's side than of theirs? Is it possible? I can't wait to read how this part of the story plays out - it should be a real battle in more ways than one... So many ways that this story can go what a great ride Mark hasminmstore for us... ;-p

Mobsters - smelled that piece of repeat work based on the title. LOL Here's to the special Mountain Goat brew and the appearance of Gray with a strangely familiar first name. Clearly our author having his way with us... My first clue to Lisa's danger was that she is in Newark - forget Rob with his ties to Bridget - get out of there girl!

Yet another great chapter from Mark... The description of the action on the ice when Gathan was taken out made me feel as though I was right there in the stands seeing it all unfold - outstanding! I wonder what Wade has planned with those properties? Perhaps some exposé on Mommie Dearest, the slumlord? Might hit too close to home though and take some of the luster off of the Danfield name, so I suppose he must have some other plan... I wonder what will be next on the Will, Brad & Robbie front?
-
I wonder what it will take to break the impass between Will, his dad, and Robbie? Clearly, bringing Pat back will be a start... If Gathan hears Kristin's story I wonder what he will do? Forgive her of course, but his temper and likely desire to hurt the other guy will be running real high. Let's hope Wade's moderating influence will save Gathan from his temper...

Great chapter and I loved the Tonya'esque mini-episode! Poor kid... Great exchange in the stands as well - Wade gave Will the perspective he needed and it looks like this rough patch is about over... A bit surprised though at the reference to "tournaments" - I would think that "Competitions" would have been a better choice when speaking of JJ's skating events. Do they refer to skating events as tournaments in other areas of the world? BTW - I don't think that I've really seen any noticeable mistakes in any of your stories so my hat is off to you and your great editing team! Thanks Mark!

From a purely educational standpoint, I would love to see what stinking chapter looks like - I'm guessing a stinking chapter from CJ is still better than most... ;-)

Chapter 42: Final Chapter
KevinD commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Chapter 42: Final Chapter
Thanks Mark for another great story arc...while not closing out the individual stories, you gave us a way to move on into the next tale segment... So I guess I will have to ask you what is the mind of your fans - when will you launch Bacchante & George on their way? -
Title confused me too - not to make fun of dyslexia, but for a while there I was certain that I was having a problem. Thankfully Shane's skilled applied pressure tactic worked in more ways than one! Certainly appears that B'stoke is safe until he makes his next westward trip, but even then what can they really do except nab him for trespassing on K'burra? Unless of course his collected DNA (presuming they recovered some) pops up somewhere in a database of evidence from crime scenes...then they have a strong reason to take him instead of a presumed simple trespass... As for Bridget and Billy, I guess we will just have to wait and see wait develops... One last comment - even though CJ's stories are free of explicit erotic content, it was nice to see that at least we have indications that ours boys enjoy each other at meaningful moments. Thanks CJ!

Even though Wade seems to have Mommie Dearest right where he wants her, I'm sure this isn't over yet... ;-)

Circumnavigation (99+15) Hunting the Hunter
KevinD replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Oh foul, most EVIL cliffhanging, mountain goat! Letting both arch villains get away over two chapters and then combining it with a two-week window before the next chapter. Such meanness can only come from one that knows he's exempt from another consecutive crown to extend a most deserved winning streak... Well done though CJ, I must say, begrudgingly... ;-( Thanks - Kevin -
Interesting chapter and view into Davina's apparent sense of aristocratic privilege to those see sees as lesser than her. While I do have some sympathy towards how she must've felt given Freddie's problem, her sense of duty related to producing an heir was more than a bit twisted. For that reason alone I could wish she were instead one of the abusing French aristocrats, caught up in the terrors of the French revolution. A victim of her own sense of entitlement, one that would meet her fate in front of the jeering mob, marched up to meet the guillotine. Too bloodthirsty of me??? Thanks Mark for rapid flow of chapters in George's story...
-
Outstanding story, and I 2nd Frostina's comments...a story with deep feeling that wrought a few tears from me too... Now, if only you would give us the next chapter of Indiana Summer! ;-) Thanks for the story!
-
Hi TR - do you really thi it was necessary to encourage our Goat to hang out on the cliffside more often than he already does?.. ;-)
-
Just a bit of a "wind-up" there making us think the four would try to take on B'stoke bringing them unwittingly close to their end...tsk, tsk, tsk! But once again, a minor reprieve and a pull back from the edge of the cliff - too little, too late, for our Goat. All hail, King of the Cliffies! Thank CJ for another chapter, though I swear, this seemed like the shortest chapter, ever! ;-(
-
Many things became more clear in this chapter. To borrow a familiar military concept/phrase: "the fog of war" slowly begins to clear and we can see the battlefield, pieces and positions... Another great chapter with the correct mix of ingredients to satisfy the reader's appetites... Thank Mark!

Circumnavigation (99 +12) Coming to a Head
KevinD replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Off coursevim so tired I didn't realize until later that the story posts when it posts and time zones aren't a factor like they are in broadcast TV... Oh well - heavy sigh! ;-)
