I can't wait to see that smarmy smirk wiped off the one detective's face. Indeed Shawn's mental "working it out' was clear, at least to me -- and not surprising considering the kind, loving way you have depicted Shawn. Besides, one of the few ways I can imagine my husband to be sexier is to have him be a merman. Still, I'm glad Shawn didn't disappoint!

I had not read it before, and I loved it. Definitely deserves to be one of my classics. Like you said, a story that felt complete in only 3500 words. I love the way that from the beginning gays were part of Melvyn's history. I also chuckled when I finally figured out the naming convention of Melvyn's men. ¡Gracias, Carlos, por su cuenta!

So glad they had this calm before the storm! ...& so glad that Shawn made Casey's first time so filled with love and not just the incredibly hot, lustful sex that it also was. I hope the bond it forged helps them through the approaching storm. Thanks for such a sensitive and well-written chapter!

Learning to be a parent of a teenager over 13 years; learning to be a parent over a few weeks or months of a teenager, who is a troubled one in many dimensions, has to be at least as overwhelming as what Aki is feeling right now. Of course, for many parents, 13 years is not enough to prepare and most of us survive, so I'm confident Aki and Hel (& Ischa) will as well. Speaking of Ischa, I must say that he is showing a maturity in this situation that was not evident early on. Not that he doesn't have a few issues of his own. Then again, he wouldn't be human (or demon or spirit wolf or werewolf) if he didn't, and once again Sascha presents a set of characters who we can see have the necessary skills to fix their own problems, particularly when thrown together with the right company. Now they just have to figure out how... Cheers!

I'm so glad that Shawn is in love and not just lust with Casey: Casey is certainly going to need his emotional support and likely his physical and even financial support once the s***, I mean Martin, hits the fan. Kudos to you, craftingmom, for slowing down this section of the story to give that sense of love blossoming and not just leaping from bud to full blown flower. I must say, starting each chapter leaves my stomach in knots wondering if this will be the chapter where Martin finds out or makes the next move in his plan (or both). Glad that I'm behind and have a couple of chapters to read!

Lots of questions on all fronts, and like the others, I do hope they get over their arrogance because Tyler deserves someone(s) special!

I really enjoyed both stories & hope Tom continues to demand his stories be told. I also believe there is someone waiting to meet him, even if he doesn't see him yet.

Not sure if was by design, but to me the conciseness of the chapter resonated with my expectation that communication via telepathy would move at such a much faster pace than spoken communication. The concert from the Furballs and the certainty that the original Friends would have approved was a spectacular homage to their love!

So glad to see Casey getting to relax even a bit with someone who seems to like him in a good way. (Shawn, you better not prove to be a dick!) I hope that they can hide their budding relationship (whatever it may become) from Martin for awhile longer. Casey needs to get a renewed foundation of human caring under him before Martin finds out...

Carlos: I treasure your inclusion of so many types of men and types of relationships. Even if some are not my choice, I love seeing them represented and gaining insight into what drives them. The fact that Dragon and King explained their lifestyle approach to CJ at first meeting was also wonderfully honest and appropriate in my opinion. CJ is clearly mature enough to appreciate the different styles and recognize he does not have to "fit" one style or another just because he's gay. Now, will CJ ever meet someone to date, hmmmm...

What's not to love about this story? Casey's wonderful spirit despite all his tribulations, he's a merman (one of my personal favorite creatures) but can shift to human for more than a "Splash" time, he's intelligent and handsome -- well, I guess Uncle Martin's descent into inhumanity after Thomas' death, Casey's incredible isolation both from people and largely from the sea that calls him, and the fact that he was almost a dead experiment (and still might be!) are not so lovable though they are clearly necessary for the story. Thanks, Craftingmom, for yet another fabulously fantastical universe!

"Ours. You're ours." Three short words (ok, 4 if you count the contraction as 2) but what a twist it made on the fact that the Furballs arrived. So many possibilities now, particularly depending on how they meant those feelings. I do wonder if they have sorted out that humans need a different atmosphere to survive. Thanks for letting us in on what happened back on Cora: after all the hints it was great to put that puzzle aside in preparation for the next puzzles. Here's to the next chapter!

How wonderful to have this trio back again, Cia -- and 4 chapters! It was such a treat for the weekend reading time. I love how they all fit together, and how very special now that Miah's parents have blessed the bonding (or at least have made the mental adjustments that will allow them to bless the boys). I do hope that your hinting of a future story was for real... Thanks!

So big question is whether the furry alien sensed the "wrongness" of Kyle from the drugs or s/he/it sensed something from Jim that made s/he/it concerned for Kyle. If it's the latter and the authorities figure it out, then something even bigger and nastier is going to hit the fan. Great play off the diametrically opposed emotions Kyle is feeling -- and maybe even Jim.

I was so sure it would this chapter when Dmitri would at least start telling Talin about the lives in which he and his brother and sister-in-law are enmeshed, but you masterfully delayed it -- again! Then again, if I put myself in Dmitri's place and things are just starting to move forward with Talin, I can appreciate why he held off. Like others have said, however, there is a delicate balance between building enough trust and losing all trust: another area in which you are masterful, Sui. One thought that came to mind: could whatever happened with Gabriel be related to what's happening with Dmitri? Vlad certainly seems to have long arms. Bottom line: we want more!

I'm with the others: we want more! I think seeing Damien as king and Kayden as… well, whatever he is other than Damien's beloved, taking over the court and changing it to something better (while putting the professional politicians to being what they should be) could be part of the next story. Of course, there is the niece/nephew and how s/he grows up to become the next soverign while Oliver and Nash change their part of the world. Something also feels like there could be someone(s) more sinister behind the plots so far. Not that Laos and Damien's evil brother could not have done what they did on their own, but was there someone weaving threads to a bigger tapestry, one that is looking a bit disheveled after Damien and Kayden and friends have unraveled some big chunks. Anyway, you will know what is right for our human and neko friends: I just hope that you will share some of it with the rest of us!

What a ride you provided, Daddydavek, as well as an absorbing perspective into how telepathic talents might evolve. I could certainly see a spinoff with Bart's new life being a central component. As a scientist myself (albeit biological not physical), I was intrigued by Bart's hyper-scientific approach to integrating the data dump and then moving forward with all the detailed work needed. Hope that we will see move of these folks in the future. Congratulations!
