Of The Flesh by Comicality
Nephylim replied to Graeme's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
That literally made me shiver. I love the idea of images stealing your soul. i can see how it might. It freezes a moment in time, stops time if you will and stopping time is a dangerous thing to do. Shiver -
I was on the edge of my seat through that one. I am SO glad Ty is alright and that you have had the chance to tell him how much you are about him again and that he will be in you son't life as he grows. It is something that I have been thinking about recently. What's the point in getting stressed about things that happen in your life... it may end at any time so why worry. Sure look to the future, make plans, look forward but at the same time live in the moment and savour every one of them. In particular cherish every moment of your son's life. You have no idea how quickly he will be grown up and cooking you Christmas Dinner

A Story to Touch the Heart
Nephylim commented on Nephylim's story chapter in A Story to Touch the Heart
I'm really glad your heart is mended. This is a sweet story, just to prove that I'm not always Queen of Evil :)Thank you again for your review. -
Thank you Sorry I broke your heart. Only a very few of my stories have sad endings but life's like that. Sometimes it keeps sending you curved balls and all you can do it keep lobbing them back. Who knows what will happed to Joe on his wanderings And what more can anyone hope for from their life than that they brought love into the life of others, which Taz did in abundance. Thank you so much for your review. Every single one of them means a lot to me

Hell, a rollercoaster right enough. I was going to say poor Gust but it looks as if he is going to be alright. Maybe poor Noah would be better and what the hell happened to Chris. Nice one/ What's next

When Leelany slipped into the clearing so silently and so quickly that to Gabrielle and Ben it seemed as though one moment she was not there and the next she was there, she seemed unaccountably disappointed to see Cai standing ready for her. “You heard me.” “I have been hearing you since I was twelve. Why should today be any different?” “I have found the way, follow.” Leelany disappeared into the trees again and, taking Gabrielle by the hand Cai followed. If it had n

Leelany cursed under her breath and cried out. “Hold the circle, don’t step back.” Leelany let go of Cai’s hand and, very quickly both she and Cai grabbed Ben’s hands joining him in the circle. There was a feeling of reality being stretched, pulling them upwards and outwards as though they were made of elastic, twisting and distorting everything around them. The circle of light that surrounded them seemed a flimsy thing and there was a sense of…something... beating against it from the ot

Suddenly a figure reared out of the rain and brought her up short. Flying red hair flew around her and a hand came from nowhere slapping her hard across her face. Gasping with shock rather than pain she sat down suddenly on the wet grass. “Oh no you don’t. Twice I was helpless but not this time. I will kill you before I let betray him this time.” “Leelany, oh thank god. I prayed you would come. I didn’t know what to do. I’m so sorry, so sorry but I didn’t know what to do.” It

“What’s happening? What’s …?” She opened her eyes to find Ben bending over her shaking her. “I’m sorry to wake you, I wouldn’t have but you were dreaming and you seemed upset.” “Was I? I don’t remember.” She sat up and grinned at him. “Well…?” Ben smiled coyly. “Oh, I had almost forgotten about that.” “Liar. Did you call?” “Yes, I called.” “And…?” “I’m meeting her next weekend.” “Excellent. Did you tell her how you feel?” “Not ex

At the hospital they took him away from her and she was left to complete forms on which she told the truth as far as she was able and then lied as well as she could. After that she sat and waited. She never saw Angela and her friend again. After about half an hour a young man in a white coat called her name and led her to a room which was obviously a waiting room, with a television set, uncomfortable looking arm chairs and a coffee machine. “Are you Daniel’s next of kin?”

Somehow her feet found their own way and, eventually she found herself outside the house she had left only a few hours before, too afraid to knock the door. At this stage she was still more afraid of Cai’s reaction to what she had done than of any other consequence as she did not really believe that there would be any. After all, what’s in a name? After hovering for a time, watching shadows move behind the curtain in the big bay window she got up the courage to knock. There was no answ

Gabrielle opened her eyes with a jolt, having not realised that she had fallen asleep. Cai was still watching her, smiling. “Did you wake me?” “Yes. It is getting late and Leelany will be home soon.” “Good, I am looking forward to meeting her.” He frowned. “Sou Shan, I think…… I think that perhaps I should speak to Leelany before you meet her. There are…. things that she has told me that I don’t understand and I don’t know why she has said them. Before she knows…..

“Are you lonely?” She took herself by surprise with the question. It was not something she had been thinking before she said it. The smile wavered although his gaze remained steady. “Yes. I have only Leelany and she is often away. There is no one else and I sometimes think that it would be nice to have someone to talk to, to be close to.” “Is that all? That you ‘sometimes think it would be nice’, or is it deeper than that? Is it a longing Cai?” He frowned, caught off g

The student union building was close by and, inside it was cool and dark. There were not many people here as they were all outside enjoying the sunshine. Gabrielle sat Ca’el in the darkest corner where he attracted the least attention and bought him a pint. He studied it for a time, watching the bubbles rise, stroking the frost from the glass with a long finger. Gabrielle watched him, amused. “You are supposed to drink it.” Looking up he gave her a quick, bright smile and cautiou

The next morning, early Gabrielle was on the telephone to her mother, or the woman she had always thought of as her mother who, through many tears and apologetic explanations admitted that she was not of her blood but had been adopted when she was a tiny child. She had been so introvert and strange that her ‘parents’ had not wished to add to her feelings of estrangement by telling her that she was not truly theirs and so had put off the time of telling until, it had never come. Putting down

The singing and the dreams continued through the years and were interspersed with new dreams, dreams of a wild haired boy with smiling cat eyes and a leaf bladed knife at his hip. When she was nineteen she went away and she thought she had left the boy and the dreams far behind. The university she had chosen for her Art degree was close to a large deep wood, reminding her of home and providing her with a refuge for when the strain of being social grew too much. She had hoped that at un

For years Gabrielle has been seeing a strange boy in the woods. He grows with her and everywhere she sees the flash of his red gold hair. When she goes to university she thinks that she's said goodbye to him, until she sees the the red gold in the woods just before her whole world falls apart and she finds that it was never her world in the first place.
-
The first time ever she had seen him, was when she was about six years old. She had wandered away from her friends and ventured deeper into the woods than she had been before. Quite suddenly she had come out of the trees into a strange clearing and there he was, crouching, looking at something in the grass. A boy, little older than she was. Startled he had looked up and, for a moment their eyes had locked and something…. something wordless and strange passed between them. And then he was gone. I

Chapter 8 - In the Company of Wolves
Nephylim commented on Kavrik's story chapter in Chapter 8 - In the Company of Wolves
This was a wonderful chapter but poor poor Kian. Is that going to happen EVERY night? He'll be exhausted in no time. To be fair to him he took it well when he was getting royally f**ked by strangers. A little too much sweat for me but he is an animal after all
