    Hopeless

I got a new cooker today because the last one literally fell apart. I've been holding the over door closed with a paint tin for some time and last week the whole thing died. So I have a new one. The delivery company have very few requirements. Just take out the old cooker and put it in the middle of the floor and they will take it away and put the new one in it's place... rather like the tooth fairy, not that they looked anything like fairies... except maybe fairy boot. Anway... there we were last night. Three women, all with degrees, all reasonably intelligent and pondered how the hell we were going to disconnect the cooker. I thought I was being clever when I took the socket off the wall... until I looked at the back of it and it was NOT like a normal plug. So there we were with no cooker at all and no idea what to do with the one we have. We had pizza. Today I called my friend and asked if he could recommend an electrician. He came round himself and within thirty seconds had unscrewed the wires, not from the wall but from the three screws that were attaching them to the back of the cooker under the easy to remove plate. Meh Nice new cooker though.

From Wikipedia In Britain, as the word 'yobb' came out of the London back slang and into more general English usage, it and latterly 'yobbo' have meant 'working class, adolescent, male person'. Within his own culture, he was not necessarily seen as uncouth, though a person writing about him rather than speaking of him was likely to be of another social class and prone to seeing him as loutish. Dr. C. T. Onions, an editor of the Oxford English Dictionary, seems not to have noticed the word before he published the XYZ section of the dictionary in 1921 but the later supplement notes the use of 'yob' as meaning 'boy' in the working-class youth context, from 1859. This implies that the word had by that stage come out from the back slang argot into ordinary English usage. In the dictionary supplement's references, it is possible to detect a slow drift in the word's meaning, towards the 'Ruffian' interpretation, the new emphasis becoming clear from about 1927. 'Yobbo' appears from 1922 when its meaning does not clearly emphasize the ruffian. Its meaning drifts clearly towards the 'ruffian' interpretation by 1956, though a reference of 1938 calls a yobbo a 'Street Rough'. In Britain today this word is sometimes superseded by the newer term "Chav". How could I have forgotten Chav

I spell ciggie like that too. Strange. Yeah we eat 'tea' here too. If we have dinner at lunchtime then we have tea at teatime. If we have lunch at lunchtime then we have dinner at teatime. I usually have dinner at teatime. My son doesn't have lunch, tea or dinner... he has middle food and end food which I think is a lot more sensible

    Losing peers

I haven't yet lost any of my peers so I have no idea what that feels like. I am losing older relatives like crazy though so I'm quite experienced in death these day. We've become quite close acquaintances. I have always felt that we should live every day as if it was out last and that doesn;t aways work out what with work and such but I still try
  7. Yes, we do Amen brother What makes you think that this will be any different to all the rest? when has the Queen EVER paid for a ceremony like this?
  8. yayay The more the merrier. I would definitely tell you how to get into the group IF I had the first idea how. It's Agaith's baby so give him a poke and he'll invite you in.
  9. Why do they refer to Kate as Middleton throughout the article. I thought that was really disparaging and disrespectful. Apart from that... they're both human beings and ( I hope) in love so who wouldn't be pleased for them. I doubt I'm going to get an invitation to the wedding though

Also the white powder you snort. Trunk = back end of an automobile a big wooden box for storing things. 11. Bring a cat
  12. HAHA we couldn't organise our way out of a paper bag Ok fb group it is. Call it something weird and pm us with the name so no one else knows what it's about. Presumably we can invite people in if someone else expresses an interest.
  13. Awww... how cute is that? So if fb group is not good, how about a shared chat on msn. No one else can be involved and no one will know what it's about.
  14. That would be great. I have no idea how to do that. I agree with Paya that any information giving away more than the city and the date in public would potentially be dangerous.
  15. I have already booked the holiday and I'm committed to the weekend of 4th Feb so that's when I'm going to be there. If anyone wants to go at another time that's fine Okay, so I'm happy to collect telephone numbers. If you want to pm me that's cool or you can email me at Chakira@hotmail.co.uk. Erm Bleu... what do I do with them when I get them?
  16. There's everone on everyone action. Loved it. I wish I was in it too. Of course I never would be because my body just isn't the right shape.
  17. From my point of view the yes/no in efiction as to whether a story is completed or not means whether it has been completely posted or not. I'm not sure if I've got that right or not. ALL of my stories are completed before I start posting for two reasons. First I don't like the pressure of having to write to keep up with posting and two I often go back and change parts of my story as other things come up and need to be tied in. I suppose that this is because I don't plan out my stories in advance. But surely then that means that people who are posting as they go do have a plan for the story and therefore should be able to post through to the end. I don't know, but I do know that it frustrates me when I get into a story, which I often do, only to then have it abandoned before it's finished.
  18. I think that looks do count but that they are very subjective. I mean that what attracts one person won't attract another and that's where the 'looks don't matter' comes in. You go for someone who attracts you... becuase they have pretty eyes or nice hair or a beautiful smile... but that doesn't necessarily have to be obectivel beautiful. I mean who would sleep with someone they found physically repulsive? But what is repulsive to one person is a real turn on to others. For example I HATE body builders. I think the are gross and that kind of huge muscle is a complete and utter turn of. However, to a lot of peolple they are physically perfect and desirable. I can't stand men with very very short hair... that is a big turn off to me and I often won't even look at the face underneath, not unless the have amazing eyes or something. I get a real turn on for a man with long hair and that attracts me irrespective of what the rest of him is like. Of course once you have the intial attraction then there has to be an emotional and spiritual attraction/connection or no matter what they look like the relationship doesn't work. In short I think looks do count but not necessarily in the way the questions seems to imply. Beauty is important but the way that people view beauty is very subjective and even though you might think you look like a dog there are most certainly people out there who go for shiny coats and cold noses.
  19. As far as paper advertising is concerned it goes straight into the bin without even a glance. If I can tell from the envelope it is likely to be something unimportant I don't even open it. I mean even my bank is offering 'sales' wtf. Telephone advertising doesn't work because I NEVER answer my landline. I figure that if it's anyone who knows me the'll ring my mobile and if it isn't then who cares. If someone leaves a voicemail I eventually get back to them... when I remember to listen. SO it's a case of if you don't know my mobile number you're pretty screwed. TV advertising gets totally filtered out. I very rarely watch and if I do I don't really notice, they're just annoyances. I dont think I have EVER bought anything just because I've seen it on TV. Ads do serve one useful purpose in our house though. I have one of those incredibly unusual children who hardly ever ask for anything. Ef is weird. If offered a bowl of sweets or a plate with pumpkin brownies on them he asks first how many he is allowed to ask and then religiously only takes that much. When asked what he wants for Christmas or his Birthday he inevitably respods... just anything. Soooo when we watch Christmas adverts we make a list of anything he would quite like and then I choose of that for Christmas and Birthday. Simples
  20. Don't you dare. I love this picture. The colours in your hair are awesome. If you hand't mentioned that I would never have noticed. Cute picture, cute you. Okay, could have done without the view up your nose, cute as it may be I liked your bangs but anything looks cute on you hun
