This is the third segment in the world Volvo Tales. You should read the first two before this one.

This is where I stash my short stories responses to writing prompts. Hope you enjoy. If you like stuff like The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits or Night Gallery you will probably feel right at home.

We all have secrets, things we sometimes can't even admit to ourselves. What happens when we give in to them...

Susan Lewis, a young woman care-taking her late grandmother's house, cut off from the world by COVID-19, begins to suspect she is not as alone as she thinks. Is a shadowy spirit woman stalking her lustfully, or has Susan just been reading too many trashy romance novels?

This is the story of our people from the time of The First Lord's awakening until recent days, I may be asked to add more as time passes.

This has been a time of change for our people, one where we have learned to look at our past and our future, and embrace them and the changes as we accept others and their technology into our lives.

Jemya Hanlon was born on Benteen, a planet settled 500 years earlier from Old Earth. But the lines of communication with the mother world were broken after only 200 years, and the colonists have been on their own ever since. Jem was raised in the cold northern lands of New Australia, the only continent where the settlers have a foothold. The nearby town of Nocksic Bay is a seaport, where the ships sail forth to hunt the great orx, a staple seafood of the settlers. Jem has longed dreamed of going to sea, and now he has his chance. And he is just in time to encounter a new mystery, one that may change the settler’s lives forever!

Meeting for the first time in Boarding school, Oscar Q Kingston settles down to life away from his country home town, until an incident with one of his friends, while at home on a boarders weekend had him ending up in a hospital and afterwards changing schools and living with his grandparents on the outer north-east suburbs, where he finds new friends.

Months later he bumps into two of his former friends from his old school and after a bumpy start, they form a close friendship that lasts for many years to come, where they go their own separate ways after school ends, and reunite later for a common cause.
