Peter's Probationary Poems - 3. For my Loved One - Poetry Prompt 7 - Blank Verse

It's such a beautiful poem, Peter. The stately progression of paired lines as complete sentences works here brilliantly. Each little unit enhances our ability to experience the loved-one's love for ourselves. This poem invites us in, and does not need to boast to overawe. Love is both the proof and the reason.

It is warm and tender. You are gut aufgehoben. You found beautiful words. In my mind I added that's love behind each sentence. Wonderful.

Ok here I am. Much too hard to type well on my tablet and this deserved my laptop!
This a lovely poem of love and relationship. Grand gestures are just that, and to me more for the giver's ego. Small private expressions of love, such as the laid table, the blanket, and the notes are easier remembered and easier to keep safe in your heart.

It is the small things done that keep love, that nourish it. Grand banquets are oft overfilling it is the daily meals shared that feed us.

Thank you so much, AC. I purposely tried to keep it small. I'm not good (yet and maybe never will) at more abstract content. For the time being as long as I'm able to convey the feelings I had while writing, I'm happy.

Thank you for your review, Adi. The literal meaning of "aufheben" as an upwards motion applies as well. The feeling of being loved lifts your spirit to a higher plane.

Thanks, tim, for your laptop review. I'm still in the 20th century with my desktop computer.

The list of small gestures is endless and although I do my best, I'm not nearly as attentive. Like you I feel very blessed with my partner.

Thank you, Gary. I see it all the time between Michael and Kendall and now also between Nate and Bodie. They're all excellent role-models.

The biggest compliment is "effortlessly", for I always fear the kneading and tweaking will shine through. You made me very happy, thanks Def.

Actions speak louder than words they say. I think your words speak pretty strongly of your love and only his.

My hubby leaves me notes too. Sweet to find when I'm alone.
