Just some words - 2. They ran

So this morning as the pup and I were walking we encountered three young men preparing for their morning run. It was early, just past dawn and dressed in nothing but running shorts and shoes they were stretching to loosen lean muscles and then ...

They ran

As young hounds might

When coursing, sun dappled

lissome forms move with an easy grace

they ran.

This cinquain was originally posted on 28 May 2016 in the “Live Poets Society” forum on GA. I’ve reposted it here as part of this body of work to make it more easily found and hopefully enjoyed.
I'm a bit enamored of the cinquain with it's easy measured but fluid form. The form is brief only 5 lines totaling 22 syllables. Be warned, there will be others.

Dugh, you made jogging seem so easy and free. :thumb:

As for the type of verse, I'm no expert about that. I did like the lovely flow to the words and the joy felt in the ease of the run.

Nicely done!

For some running seems an effort not for these three, they were so fluid in their grace. I'm glad to have been able to share that with you. Thank you.

Yeah, I agree with all. You have an imaginary illuminating writing skill. As I said before in 'Live Poet's Society', I can see the boys posture and the sun brightening on their skin and all. Nice poem. I loved Cinquians a lot just like you... :)

I like to write word pictures to share glimpses of what I see. The cinquain is currently my favorite form though I find myself playing with the structure stretching and twisting to fit the words that come to me. Thanks again for your thoughts and comments.
