My Immature Poetry - 23. Obsessed With Self Animus
span style="font-size:1em;line-height:1.3em;">A Quatrain I had written for a contest on PoetrySoup. I still don't know I had won it, but wanted to share here too.
How vehement his thoughts winning the realm,
so, thus venomous the success became.
Bitter—the taste of power and the helm,
yet sweet; until thy honesty got maim.
Mediocrities—get up to the bones,
devastates entrustment without exempt.
Anomie stands indelible—in zones,
solemnly results in beneath contempt.
Animus capitalized for sole greed,
it will scar your demeanor—well indeed.
