Youth Detained - 3. YD Chapter 3

Last Chapter

Our silence was broken only by the entry of the 2nd guard, who announced to us that Kenyon would be remaining in the medical bay till tomorrow morning, to make sure there is no damage to his neck and throat. The guard suggested that we all go to have our breakfast before we miss out, and then afterwards I was to report to the front of the block to be escorted to administration, as I had a visitor due to arrive at 9 am to see me.

This news was a bit of a surprise, I had no idea who would want to visit me in this place, except maybe my grandmother if she was caring enough, and I knew she was not, as she was never supportive when I was arrested and put through the police interview process and court process, instead she nominated a representative from Children’s Services to look after me.

On returning to D Block after breakfast, I wrote a note asking the guard on duty if he knew who it is that is visiting me, and she informed me that she only knew that it was a legal representative, and as soon as I was told this I dashed into my cell and retrieved my notepad, pencil and the typed notes that I had made, before going back to the front of the block, were I was escorted to the admin building, and into an interview room.

A tall middle-aged man was already in there waiting for me, and as I entered he stood up and shook my hand with a big smile, and indicated for me to sit. “My name is Alexander de Burgh, I am a Barrister and I represent Master Kenyon and his family on legal matters, I received a call for Master Kenyon yesterday, asking me to come in and meet you and see if I want any help with your case, and from what I have been told so far, it sounds like you have not been given a proper opportunity to give your whole story.

Yesterday I was able to get hold of the police report, a transcript and audio / visual copy of your police interview and of the court hearings, and I whole heartedly agree that you have been given a very hard time, and I am here to correct all the errors” the man said to me and I gave a nod of understanding. At that point I handed over the typed notes that I had made the day before, and I watched Mr. de Burgh as he read and reread the notes, when he had finished he asked me if these are true and correct facts of what I really did during that day, and I nodded yes.

Mr. de Burgh turned to the last page of my notes and did some writing at the bottom, before handing it to me, and he told me to sign where there is a X and to write down the date, I was also to initial at the bottom of each other page, which I did before handing it back to him.

“It looks like the police have made a huge mistake here, and with this information you have given me, we will be able to clear up all the errors, I do need to know the full names of your three friends, so I can get statements from them too, as it will strengthen your case” he said to me and I nodded, before opening my notepad, and writing down the full names of my three mates, Jimmy, Toddy and Hog, and the name of the school that we all attend, a large state high school that is well known to have students from low economic backgrounds, who always seem to be getting into trouble.

With the piece of paper in his hand he stood up and shook my hand and informed me that he would be in contact real soon, it was then that I decided to ask one question; quickly I grabbed the notepad and wrote it down.

“Who is Kenyon?” Mr. de Burgh laughed when he saw the question and suggested that I ask him that question when I see him next, and he left the room. Ten minutes later I was in the library on my own, and there was a lot to do, firstly I had to finish sorting the new stock that had arrived the other day, which we made a start on yesterday, then I had to finish putting all the books together that were being requested by the other prisoners, and surprisingly time went by real fast and when I finished both chores, I saw that I only had ten minutes left before lunch, so I grabbed a novel from a shelf and began to read it.

When I arrived in the dining room, Anderson and Matthews were waiting for me, and asked who my visitor was, and what happened, deciding to remain silent, I indicated that I had no notepad or pencil to write, so I couldn’t tell them. Although annoyed at this they quickly changed the subject and told me what they had been doing out in the garden this morning, pruning some shrubs and planting some new vegetable seedlings, as they ate their meals, once again I had a full plateful of food, as I found it the best time to eat a big meal, as I was often too tired after three hours of education studies to worry about eating dinner.

After lunch we had half an hour before we had to make our way to our first class for the afternoon - mathematics, which was one subject that I didn’t mind, as I liked challenging my mind. The other subjects for today were English and business studies, and I was very exhausted by the end of the last class.

Once back at the pod I showed Matthews and Anderson the same question I had asked the lawyer, and I got the exact same answer, and I stormed out of the room closing my cell door behind me. A few moments later there was a knock on the door and it was opened slightly, I waved whoever it was to come in, and both of my pod mates entered. As I sat in my plastic chair with my back to the wall, Matthews and Anderson sat on the end of my bed, with a sizable space between them, and after a short space of silence, Matthews cleared his throat to begin to speak. He explained to me that sometimes we may know each other’s full names, and sometimes we don’t, it’s just traditional that we call each other by our last names.

Anderson stood up and faced me handing out his hand, “Hello, my name is Jeremy Isaac Anderson, I’m in here for 4 months for break and enter, with just 6 weeks to go before I’m released”, I smiled and shook his hand before he sat down, and Matthews stood up, “and I am Michael George Matthews, and I’m in here for 7 months for breaking and entering and assault, with just 4 ½ months left to serve. I shook his hand too with a big smile.

Grabbing my pad, I wrote “Hello I am Miles Andrew Kyle Silverton, and I am in here for 3 years for manslaughter, and I am innocent”, handing the note to my pod mates they shook my hand again before giggling at the silliness of what we just did.

After dinner, we were given permission to go and visit Kenyon for a short while, and Jeremy and Mike went in first, staying only a few minutes before they came out and sat in the passageway, giving me the opportunity to go and see him alone. Once the door was closed, I leaned over and gave Kenyon a kiss on the lips, which brought a big smile to his face, and I carefully sat on the edge of his bed, and in a whispered tone I asked him the same question I had asked twice before today. “Kenyon, who are you?” and at first, he looked at bit puzzled then he remembered that I had a visitor earlier in the day.

He smiled and in a croaky voice he said to me that he was just an average guy who is in love with a beautiful boy. It was not an answer that I had expected and caught me totally by surprise, making me blush a little in the process, then after some thought I whispered to him – “Your Barrister is really nice, and he is willing to help me get out of here, but he seems to indicate that you are more than an average guy, especially when he calls you Master Kenyon, so I ask again, who are you?” I said sternly, to let him know I was being serious and that I wanted a proper answer.

“I am a spoilt brat, who likes to rebel and not care about the consequences, but this time my father had decided that I needed to learn a real lesson, and so he didn’t intervene when I ended up in more serious trouble with the law. My full name is Tobias Amos Kenyon, and I am in here for 4 months for break and enter, and I have 6 weeks left to serve”.

Suddenly I realized something, and that was that his three pod mates had similar convictions and sentences, and I wondered if they were friends on the outside too, and before I could say something, Kenyon did, “Yes Jeremy, Mike and I know each other before coming in here, although I come from a wealthy background and the others are from rather poor backgrounds, we have been friends for a few years now, and yes we were together when we were caught breaking and entering a sports club, except Mike decided to lash out when he was grabbed by the security guard, so that’s why he has an extra charge and more time to serve.

My father is a successful surgeon, who I see very little of because he is always too busy with his patients, or he busy as a part time defense officer in the navy, or busy with his investments, and my mother I see a lot less of because she is busy travelling overseas all the time also to do with business and investments” Kenyon said.

I leaned over and gave him another kiss on the lips and told him to rest and get better, before leaving the room to join my pod mates in the passageway, where we were escorted back to our block. Once there we were told to quickly have our showers, and not to take so long as we did last night, this comment from the guard made Mike and Jeremy giggle before they went to their cells to collect their towels and we headed to the shower room, were we stripped naked and turning on two showers just lightly and the third a lot stronger as we all stood under it and took it in turns soaping each other’s bodies, including our very erect dicks.

Once we were clean, we dried off and returned to our pod where we were locked in for the night, and once we had dressed we sat in the lounge watching some television for an hour before we went to our own cells for a good night’s sleep, and I was feeling a lot happier now that I knew that I had three new good friends, of which one was possibly a boyfriend.

I was woken up the next morning by Jeremy and Mike who were sporting morning hard on’s, which they were waving in front of my face, so I leaned forward and took one in my mouth while I grabbed the other with my hand and started wanking at a steady pace, and I found my first time sucking another guys dick very enjoyable. Once we had finished out early morning bit of fun, we dressed and made our way out of the block and down to the dining room for breakfast, where we were very happy to see Toby Kenyon already there, getting his breakfast, when he saw us he smiled and went to claim our usual table while we went to collect our own breakfast trays.

When we had all sat down at the table, Toby cleared his throat, “I have some interesting gossip for you guys, the guard who assaulted me, has been sacked from the State Prison Service, and also been charged with assault of a minor, I guess he is going to see what it’s like on the other side of the fence, also I have heard on the radio news that two police officers and a public prosecutor have been suspended for perverting the course of justice, for a recent case that has resulted in an innocent person been charged and convicted of a crime he never did, and I’m wondering if they are talking about your case Manx?” Toby said hoarsely as his throat was still giving him some pain.

After breakfast a guard informed us that all four of us are to report to the Governor’s office at 9 am, when the guard walked away, we all looked at each other wondering why all of us were being called to see the governor, and we all started to get nervous. Uncertain about what was going to happen, we followed the guard to the administration building and we were shown into a conference room, where Mr de Burgh was waiting.

Soon after we had sat down, a guard and the detention center governor entered, and sat down at the large conference table, both having no expression on their faces, a few minutes later another guard opened the door, and stepped back as two men entered the room, closing the door behind them and sitting down. Mr. de Burgh cleared his throat and began to speak.

“Boys, you already know the governor of this facility, and for two of you, who don’t know, I am Mr. de Burgh, Barrister and legal representative for Tobias Kenyon and now for Miles Silverton also, the two guests who have just arrived are Mr. Tim Harmen our State Attorney General, also representing the State Premier, and Mr. James Landon, Private secretary to his Excellency the Governor of our state”

When he finished speaking, he turned to the Detention center governor, “Mr. Kenyon and Mr. Silverton I wish to express my sincere apologies for the behavior of one of my employees, what he did to you both should never have happened, you have my guarantee that steps have been taken to ensure nothing like this will happen again”, when she had finished Mr. Harmen stood up.

“Mr. Kenyon and Mr. Silverton, on behalf of the state I wish to also apologies for what has happened to you, and as part of the apology we are presenting to you today a compensation payment of $25,000 each” Mr. Harmen said as he passed the cheque over to them, before sitting down. Now it was Mr. Landon who stood up.

“Mr Silverton, we are very regretful that you have been unjustly arrested, charged and found guilty of manslaughter, and with your barristers assistance we can see that you were clearly not involved, on behalf of the state Governor, I present this document quashing your conviction, it also states that the police service has been ordered to destroy all documents, statements and any other material relating to this case that has your name on it, or implies that you are involved, I also present a cheque for $15,000 as compensation for the stress and trauma and the short time you served in detention.

In addition to this the state Attorney General has ordered that all cases that were before the court in the last 6 months, that the 3 currently suspended state employees were involved in, be reviewed and if need be the sentences adjusted. Overnight three judges have so far reviewed 15 cases, of which 4 of them are those regarding you four young men, these judges have reduced your sentences to time served and are hereby ordered to be released today.”

The four of us jumped with joy at this news, and as we stood up and had a group hug, the two visitors and the governor quietly left the room, leaving the boys and Mr. de Burgh alone, eventually we all calmed down and Mr. de Burgh said that we should go and collect our belongings and he would wait out the front to take us home.

Twenty minutes later, dressed in our own clothes, we were riding in the back of a limo with very dark tinting so no one could see us, and we happily chatted as we were driven back into civilization, with a usual business day in full swing, and a nice warm late spring day providing plenty of sunshine, no clouds and the slight hint of a cool breeze coming from the west.

Chapter Comments

I must agree with the other comments.  Having read all the stories previously posted by you (Quokka), I know you usually go into more depth.  I realize this may have been a quick endeavor but I agree there are many  questions remaining as to what happens now.  With the moneys the poorer three received will it improve their lives and what will his Grandmother's reaction be when he returns?  Please start a sequel to reveal more of their story.
